I loved the Masters of the Multiverse comics, it inspired me to start collecting, so He-Skeletor was a must-buy, but yeah needed more design touches. I actually painted some white hair streaks on mine and they really make him pop.
It's a real shame that Mattel Creations decided to only be collector friendly for a short time last year and then gave up on us so quickly. They showed off the replaceable card backs but only used it on a few figures and they made it sound like they'd be doing their made-to-order offers for all exclusives, but only did it for Wun-Dar and Grizzlor. The order window on the vast majority of their exclusives is so short before selling out that I've completely given up on them. I feel like for their other non MotU exclusives I get constant email reminders to order, but with MotU they do one email a week ahead and that's it, but I guess they figure they're going to sell out in seconds anyway so why bother trying? They really suck the fun out of being a MotU collector.

The lack of information has created serious FOMO for Duplico and many collectors are getting scalped on Ebay. Duplico looks great, he has a He-Manish face, there is a high demand for him. We're not asking for insider information, just what's the offering and where to purchase it, as basic as it gets really. Control the narrative of your line, use your channels effectively and just keep your fans and customers informed Mattel ✌️.
The multi figure review is a good touch I like it. I wish Walmart and Mattel would fix their distribution issues. The wwe motu line and superstars line plus motu Walmart exclusives are crazy hard to find it seems. I know flocked panthor became a shelf warmer eventually in some places but it took a long time to become available.
I second you about He-Skeletor lacking the design features from the comic, but I also wish he came with an open right hand and a gripping left one due to him holding the sword with his left. I know I could swap out the open left hand with a gripping one from my collection, but I feel it's another design element they could have included to better showcase his own uniqueness. Edit: I wrote that just before you got to the part about the skin tone not matching the previously released Keldor figures, so that shoots down my planned part swapping.
TBH, they shoulda just went with Skele-He but I can see why they didn't... BUT now that regular version of Panthor can be added to the mix... with maybe the helmet coming down the road? Dlupi-Cody... can NEVER unsee that now; all we need was an eagle or the nightmare logo somewhere in the armor (pssst CUSTOMIZERS!!!)
He really should have been a repaint of the original SDCC He-Man from the two-pack with the boot knife, the extra closed fists, flat right hand and gripping left hand. Plus the extra mini-comic head would have helped the character not look like another He-Man, and better yet a 3rd red-haired head would have allowed us to make a storybook version of Faker.

Yeah it boggles my mind that they didn’t put a Keldor head on He-Skeletor and also that with all the artwork showing him holding the sword in his left had, even on the box, that they didn’t include a left gripping hand! So many little design choices that would have made all the difference. A friend gave me one and I am very thankful for it, but those things just really stood out.
One thing I just thought of, when you show the comic panel, the very first He Man release in origins, the Alcala head? THAT would have been better! Looks a bit different and the hair is longer!
Dan, you forgot Wun-Dar and Prince Adam in your He-Man line-up! ...and, yes, the multiple figure format is good since they almost all have the same articulation and pop-apart points it seems so redundant at this point to do it in a single figure review.

I don't understand what is supposed to be the appeal of the Sun Man line, they're pretty boring and plain characters. the MOTU figures are all very creative and with a strong fantasy and sci fi style.
Duplico *IS* carrying Transformers Shockwave, complete with external tube/cable, muzzle shape, overall shape… Maybe it’s an Easter Egg! Mattel and Hasbro *are* collaborating, it only makes sense to go beyond Monopoly and Hot Wheels- bring their 2 Biggest, Legendary action toy lines together. It explains why barbarians have laser guns and mecha-beast vehicles perfectly as both planets and peoples have been around millions or billions of years far from Earth. Did a Seeker crash on Eternia? Quintessons or Junkions? No “retconning” needed either. Just connect them with two-packs (screw scale, TF has since 1984), so “He-Man” Vs “Megatron”/ Skeletor Vs Prime are just 2 obvious examples fans of either or both lines couldn’t pass-up! Add a limited comic series or cheap Netflix 3-5 episode show (they’ve done both properties already!), and everybody wins. And if you’re privy to this (if I’m right) and know Duolico IS carrying a Robot in Disguise that any judge would rule is a copy of Shockwave, and this is the very first toy to precede official announcements, his value would be astronomical! If Mattel and Hasbro skipped this chance to crossover multi-billion $$$ lines it would be a total waste of working together. You may UNO, I shall have grand. Styles between MOTU & TF! That’s Shockwave. Compare side by side online.
At first, I was disappointed I wasn't able to get He-Skeletor when he went up for sale. Now that I've had time to reflect, I have no connection to the character and really do not need another He-Man repaint. Duplico, on the other hand, I will need to pick up.
Amazing review always like to watch your videos they always make my day better. One thing I have noticed is when I switch heads on the characters like Mosquitor and with Mekaneck’s neck every time there ball joint in the neck get looser and looser.
I really need to check Mattel Creations more often. Since I have almost all the Vintage figures, what I want most from Origins is the weird variants and deep cuts that have never been in 5.5 before, but those are also the hardest to get and I'm not on any social media (apart from watching RUclips).
The head sculpt of keldor would've been better for he skeletor. Agreed the distribution have been horrendous. This is one the most popular toy lines in the 80's. That being said mattel should have known that this line was going to take off. I really want Mattel to focus now on more filmation and comic characters. This will make orgins and masterverse lines solvent for the next 2 years.
Thanks for the video, Dan. MOTU wasn't my favorite toy line from the 80's, more like the 4th or 5th- but I still like them. I collected a lot of the Four Horsemen figures back some ten years ago or so and need to get caught up on these now in all earnest. Too bad money doesn't grow on trees.

And he's not available on their website, just says "check location" but he's not in any stores. he'd be the only figure that was offered at retail that I couldn't get cause they didn't announce anything about him T_T
If Mattel Creations could release more than 1 exclusive at a time and lower shipping. I would be able to keep collecting. $30 for an $18 figure is a killer 😢
What we need is a Revelations cartoon aimed at the origins The last 15 minutes of the cartoon should be dedicated to the rulers of the Sun So the fans can have a closer look at their origins
RE: He-Skeletor --- Parts reuse is an expected & often welcome aspect of MOTU : less tooling on the production end but also contributes to a cohesive aesthetic for the brand. However, sometimes just doing the sculpting makes for a stronger figure. Here, it wouldn't just be about comic accuracy but ensuring it lands. A new headsculpt & bone insignia battle harness could've taken it All-The-Way. But seems like plenty of people dig it As-Is; & if not plenty then enough did - since it's gone. Plus, there's always the appeal it has on its own. All that got one, enjoy.

Plus I only get some origins figures so I don’t see all the comics. And you say silly do you mean dumb nonsense or just weird, crazy. Also, is it my imagination or is He-Skeletor's harness sort of lower then the regular He-Man one? The cross on it is over his abs, sort of like they printed it upside down or something.
