I was in Japan with a town twinning celebration party I had the pleasure of seeing these demonstrated by the son of Isao Inokuma at a very large Dojo in yokosuka Japan in 1987. Judo Kata was demonstrated followed by Randori and a small competition. The dojo was extremely large. we were all at one end of the Dojo and I know its been said before but without looking we were all aware that someone had entered at the other end. It was Isao Inokuma himself. After the demonstration was over we had a chance to a talk to the man himself ..he poke good english ...for some reason he offered my wife and I a lift back to the Hotel (he was there for a ceremony ???) As we were with a party of dignitaries (The Mayor etc etc) we thanked him but said it would may be a dishonor to the others. He smiled and said he understood completely when our party got back to the hotel his ceremony was in full swing ...imagine all the Japanese faces when he acknowledged me. Even our Mayor was put out. Why he picked me for special treatment I have no idea, I wasn't even a council dignitary just someone lucky enough to get on the trip.
THUMBS UP! Awesome :) The kata is a really hard part of Judo (for me anyway). It's looks really nice when the bows are executed at the same time. Kata is beautiful. Oh, and it looks easier on this film than doing it properly in real life :P I think that Judo is the best martial art... so interesting................................ thanx, Anna Last
