- David Garcia Torne is a Spanish male judoka who competes in -66 kg weight category. He is 2023 European Championship silver medalist. Torne has one of the most unorthodox and wild styles of Judo in the current generation. His repertoire consists of modified versions of O Uchi and Ko Uchi Gari, Ko Soto Gake, Seoi Nage and Kata Guruma. He is also a very skilled Ne Waza technician.

I didnt realize you could get people to tap in judo. I like that. It kind of makes it a jiu jitsu mix without the butt scoot
Armbars, chokes and holds are also a way to win a fight in judo. Every time the fight goes to the ground you have about 10 seconds to show some position progress to the judge otherwise it is standing up again.

Very uneducated, if you get the person on the ground without there back hitting the ground you have with in the 2 min time to get there back flat or make em tap..

The move at 2:11 (not sure what it's called?) was something I'm not sure I've seen before… It looked almost more like an Aikido technique, beautiful execution!
It's crazy this hasn't caused injuries or was called hansoku make. Have you looked at it in slo-mo? Looks like some modified soto maki komi, but on the "wrong side" you would expect it. Crazy/onorthodox for sure
Yes, quite a few of his techniques look like aikido kokyunage throws, because he is relying entirely on timing and kuzushi and almost completely avoiding using physical force. If Jigoro Kano saw this guy, he's probably say, "This is PERFECT judo!"

This guy is so fast. I had to slow it down to .25 speed to understand what was happening.
Dude is just a wrestler who moved over to Judo. His reactions and 90% of his “wow” moves are just wrestling moves being done in a gi, or in many instances ignoring the gi. He hits duckunders with sleeve grips, sometimes combing that with an inside trip, and he hits open position inside trips going straight to double unders or an over under on the way down. His last wrist grab same side sag trip is. JV move taught at every single summer camp that adapts very well to use in a judo setting. If Judo guys knew how to manage their balance and/or post a base, these attacks would be waaay less effective.
I do not say this to detract, this is a style that takes years to develop and this dude is likely also strong as an ox, but he is not using magic. Extend your grappling vision just a bit and you will learn everything that he is doing in about a half hour. Practice hitting it without a gi, and when you come back your gi work will be unstoppable.

Unortodox means he doesn't win every match via 3 penaltieis (shido). Only judoka that is actually grappling, all the others are just waiting for the time to run out.
