Jorge Naranjo they're doing variations of gymnastics pull ups. There's more than one way to do a pull up. Most CrossFitters agree that strict pull ups are the best way to gain strength for pull ups, but the kipping technique just helps get the work done faster. ✌🏾️
Going from full elbow extension to chin above the bar makes it a pull up. These are not strict pull ups, clearly.Do you ask Olympic weightlifters: "where are the strict presses?" when they jerk?You probably don't, because you recognize two different ways of getting weight from ground to overhead.
if there is no pulling there can not be a pull up. these CrossShit guys use momento and swinging to get above the bar. they dont pull. change the name to swing ups

Her MU would have been far easier if she didn't treat it as a ring MU. That is, she should have kept her hips behind the bar and swung rather than performing a fall back where she pointed her legs in front of the bar just before descending from support.
+WODwell "Mastering the Bar Muscle Up" shows athletes doing them efficiently in the fashion I described. I think treating each rep almost like a glide kip for her would give her BMU's for days.
