I like the Metcalfe kits. With a lot of them, they give you the option to build the kit in different ways. Also, if you are adventurous, making your own alterations is relatively easy with cardboard.

Yes, there is definitely a good amount of customisation that can be done, I have a video of the Metcalfe goods shed and warehouse building to come soon too which have a huge amount of potential for getting creative, I have also bought some of the plain brick and tarmac sheets from Metcalfe too recently which is going to be interesting to get into some kind of workable scenery!

For $19 US Dollars, that is an awesome structure. I have spent $100 on wood models that are, at best, just as good. Well done on the construction

I really can't believe how good the quality of these buildings is, they are really solid as well. When I first saw them in the shop I had thought they would be flimsy and only good for a few months before they started to warp, but I honestly think they have a looooong life in them... minus any disasters!

ive done about 8 different n gauge metcalfe kits now and I actually prefer the look of them to the plastic kits it saves so much money and i just enjoy making stuff I dont even have a layout atm no space I just make the buildings and put lights on them but eventually they will go in a layout. This kit is next on my list.

I originally built buildings from the Superquick range for my layout, but changed to Metcalfe kits as they are stronger and have more detail.

Looking good Dan, but you absolutely need a guards van for the train!

Haha, yes... the list of things that I see online and think "Definitely need one of them" is getting scarily long!

Those bulidings look fantastic, and they're "just" cardboard. Great value, and well assembled.

Hi, lovely video, i was thinking of getting one of theses card kits they really do improve any layout. Question please, would it be possible to run a small 0-4-0 loco though the archway?. Thanks again for a great video ATB.

The Hornsby skaledale and bachmann buildings are made of Resin and are ridiculously overpriced, Melcalfe is great value for money, the ratio, wills and Peck kits are good to plastic rather than card and need some painting.

I completely agree, I just couldn't believe how good the signal box was when I built it and I knew immediately that the factory buildings would make up a huge part of the layout scenery!
