    I've been a TACP 11 years now, fact is you have to be willing to sacrifice and commit to a lifestyle. These careerfields are not for most people and the majority fail out. These programs are for self starters who are expected to perform at 100% with no over site and work in the worst conditions. It's not about the gear or titles it about a mindset of being apart of a team, working to achieve something greater than yourself. At some point all of these jobs get tough and life will suck. That's when your true self will show through. If you are willing to be pushed to the limit and go for broke best of luck and give'em hell. See Ya🤘

      Hey brother if I don’t make it through the pj pipeline and I fail out does the military choose my job for me and if they do how long does it take to do start your 2nd and 3rd attempt

    • @Phantom8589

      @@jonathonmoores9137 My understanding is that they are reworking the spec-war indoc program. They have combined PJ, CCT, TACP and Special Recon(SOWT) students in a 2 week prep course called Battle prep. They test students in water and land abilities and try to put you in the course they think you will succeed in. You do get a say in what you want to do. They get you to passing standards and send you through the pipelines from there. If you want to go PJ route I'd practice swimming and using fin's a lot. That's mostly what they do in there indoc portion. I know several guys who went PJ then switched to TACP from the indoc pipeline. Not sure how it works if you don't make it.... There's a good chance they put you in the next job AF needs.

    Former TACP. It's been a long time and its probably worlds different now. I'm glad I did it really young and dont see how anyone with a family goes special operations. I ended up cross-training into computers in my 8th year and I'm glad I did. It not only eventually set me up for an easier transition into civilian life but I probably avoided alot of family-related issues. Not trying to discourage anyone but its better to think about those factors beforehand. Thanks for posting!

    I try to use work as a training tool. Go in everyday, and try to do you job better than you did it the day before. When your "maxed out" and think you cant do any better then cut the complacency; if you cant improve than your not trying hard enough. Strive every day to be better at the end of the day than you were yesterday.

    I've got a question regarding your indoc training guide over on your website. Is it still worth purchasing even though there have been huge changes in the pipeline? I am currently training with MSgt (ret) Mike Maroney and so he is drilling us through water con about 4 to 5 times a week but as far as land workouts are concerned I have just been running doing pushups and pullups with no real structure to it. I would like a much more detailed workout that will help prepare me physically for the pipeline. Thanks again for all of your dedication to the USAF future and congrats on making it through the IPAP program!

    • @HowToBeAPJ
      @HowToBeAPJ  5 лет назад +6

      The programs I offer are not indoc specific, I adapted and changed them to fit the model of A&S which is why the most difficult workout is called the "Get Selected" program. These programs will absolutely offer the structure you need to perform on land and then some. Guys who complete the program to the T are always top of the class. This sounds like a lot of suck, the suck everyone must endure to test themselves to prove how much dedication they have towards the job. There’s ways to make this work, like Brian said, manage your finances, meaning save save save your money and set your automatic payments. Cut what you don’t need vs what you really need. Set a schedule and the suck won’t suck so bad when you get a schedule going. Hard or not, “embrace the suck” for that dream your working towards. Remember what you’re working for because when you’re going through A&S and you get selected, you’ve accomplished that whole chapter, then another will open. Kick down those doors and push forward. Stay motivated!

    Hi Brian, if I fail out if a&s , which I don’t plan on or like to think about but you always need a back up option, does the military allow me to pick my next job before I roll back into round 2 and 3 until I complete the course or am I able to pick it. for instance I would like to go ba prep a&s, ride the pipeline, and graduate but if I fail myself because I cannot complete an event which I pray never happens how long does it take to roll into a new class ? Well I’m waiting if you have to wait awhile, through my wait time I’d like to go fireso I can sharpen my medical knowledge before coming back for round 2 through a&s. I’m not sure how it works for the 3 attempts at pj school since it’s changed to a& s, I remember you saying at Indoc you get 3 attempts to make it through, after that your done. On top of all those questions , do you have any advice for the route I’d like to take ? Thank you so much for reading this

    • @RealBREAKtheArtist
      @RealBREAKtheArtist 4 года назад +5

      As Brian says, “BURN THE BOATS.” Do not have a backup plan. Go into A&S with a do or die mindset and you are guaranteed to not fail. When you are starving, exhausted, sore, drained and you think to yourself, “Why am I even here? I could be doing XYZ. If I don’t make it at least I can do XYZ,” that just creates doubt in your mind. And A&S is all about mindset. Yeah if you fail everything will work out in the end. That’s life. But I would go into this with the mindset that you have NO other option. I bet your performance and mental toughness will exceed and prevail beyond what you expect of yourself! Many of these SOF guys AFSOC, SEALs, USASOC, and MARSOC all say they did not give themselves an out. Do not give yourself an out. Train smart and train hard and KNOW that you will make it. This is my plan as well. All or nothing.

    • @luckerooni7628
      @luckerooni7628 4 года назад +3

      I mean, be in shape enough to kill the PT standards, but otherwise, you might want to put on some weight if only because, and I've never done it so take this with a grain of salt but one which has been measured, SOF training across the board is a weight losing process. I've seen people who have finished one SOF indoc or another quote 10 pound, 20 pound, 30 pound weight loss. You don't want to be skinny going in or you will have that extra layer of mental battle to go through, and it's one less thing in a series of seemingly infinite things to mentally battle through.

Also, we live in the most politically correct society ever and women are now being accepted to this training pipeline. You have as equivocal chance as anyone and belong just like anyone else. Erase any mentality that any aspect of accomplishing something is better suited for specific race. It can become an excuse to quit or give up should you ever get a shot at indoc.
