Assen TT Showdown: Hypermotard vs Panigale - Track Day Battle

I was lucky enough to meet ‪@CunningStuntsGoFast‬ at Assen who was using his stock Panigale V4s in the same group as me.
Ferry has vast experience racing all kinds of bikes and we decided to go out together in one session to see if on his panigale with cold road tyres he could catch and pass me on my Hypermotard with hot slick tyres.
This was session 5 at Assen in the afternoon on Monday 25th Sept 2023.

Thanks.. i was running my decat system but stock end cans which blows 101db - so visually my bike looked stock which they were happy with and didnt trip any meters

Tour front suspension is either too soft, bcos every direction change you make there seems to be a rebound wobble.
I am sure it felt very fast and terrifying and fun.😊

@@ballerblocks The suspension is setup a little softer because in the UK the tracks all have elevation and gradients - Assen is flat and i didnt really feel the wobble so much thru the bars to stiffen it up

@@hypermotardking I live in the UK as well, I did a trackday on my bike, I rode with a softish suspension at first, but as I gradually gained confidence or stupidity,🤣, I found that the reduction in rebound and a stiffer front end gained more lap time, but I felt I enjoyed it less that way, maybe because I am more used to green lane fast riding, with the bad bumpy roads.

I had a SFV4, mind bending power! Traded it for a HM/SP, much better.

Its defo more fun on a HM and give or take 5 seconds can keep up with them too 👍🏻👍🏻

Yeah not as hectic as UK track days but they adjust the groups at lunch and end of day so similar paced riders are in same group..

After riding the bike a while since you had it Dyno tuned . Do you think it was worth it ?

100%… I had it tuned straight away - didnt care about warranty, I just wanted a properly running bike and it makes a massive difference. Euro5 kills these bikes and makes them horrible

Previous session was red flagged because a Ducati V4 dropped its engine and that was the oil line 😭😭
