1) Ducati 796 was a beautiful machine. Light , nimble and fun. I know that because i owned one. I used is for everyday city riding, for more or less regular travelling 500 - 1000 km. I wasn’t afraid to use it off-road. And those roads were much worse than 90% of so called “off roads” that we see on youtube. You won’t believe, but even i used it to go into the forest to gather mushrooms and berries. My only concern with 796 was small tank. It was uncomfortable to always control gasoline level while driving on highways. I do not understand why Ducati started to transform that 796 into something more and more powerful. So, I’m glad that this little moto finally reappeared. 2) Please make a larger tank like you did for Hyperstrada. If you do it, i promise i will buy this motorcycle. 3) My congratulations with this new bike, Ducati! I hope it is going to be a hit in sales!

It was sad to see that stripped down, light, super thrilling machine evolve into something it just didn't need to become. This new bike has me super excited. I see great things for this platform if they can just keep it simple, light, and fun!
I've been keeping an eye out for a 796. I had a Multi 1000DS and a S4R, loved them both. Later had a 2016 Duke 690, good bike liked it OK, but I kept thinking the 796 was probably the bike I wanted.
Ducati recently announced they are getting into motocross. This single cylinder bike not only looks great but it appears to be the first in a long line of single cylinder offerings from the brand. Expect the 450 motocross bike in a year or two. Followed by some off-road versions I would guess as well.

I don't think it needs all that tech and especially on a Duc with their unreliable electronics. Think Ill stick to my 701 but it is good to have more choices in the segment.
Sounds like an amazing machine, similar power, a couple more than my 2023 sv650, 1 cylinder less and about 100 lbs lighter. Gonna be a street beast. It's the dirtbike from hell 😂 AWESOME!
The Duc has a massive 116 bore and a short 62mm stroke, KTM is 102x84.5. Interesting that the Duc only uses a single spark plug, the 690 platform bikes use dual plug heads which help to ignite the required lean mix on such a large bore. I wager the Duc will run better stock as the dual exhaust allow it to meet sound regs easier than KTM's single exhaust, which is a known boat anchor, but in the KTM's favor it's CAT is in the exhaust can so it goes away with the can. Not sure about how they handle the CAT on this new Duc, hopefully it's not built into the header itself. The KTM makes considerably more power when tuned and allowed to breathe with a proper exhaust. No doubt this Duc will be much the same. Quickshifter is "available" so that sounds like an extra, it is standard on the KTM. Good running big singles are a gas. I am most interested in the Duc's wheelie assist feature of course, I have do that old school using the rear brake pedal on my 701 🤣
Why should I choose a 1- cilinder. What is the benefit when I look at at at two-cilinder with the same cc’s? Look forward to the answers. Greetings from the Netherlands.
With a 1 cylinder you will get become a closer friend with your mechanic. Other than that, for this specific bike, a few less kgs and a partially different driving style. Ah, and probably no passenger peds.
At last! Ducati have woken up and produced a modern Supermono engine, will be great to see this engine in a lightweight road/adventure bike rather than a supermoto which is a marmite sector of the market. Ducati have made themselves a problem though, any other mono engined bike they make would compete with their own L Twin bikes, eg, why would you buy an L Twin Scrambler if you could have a lighter, faster bike as a Mono, this engine could be the midrange future for Ducati
Seen Gas Gas under £8k,huge premium for a Ducati badge...with Honda and Suzuki coming in around £9500 with their twins with similar performance, their price point should have been around there, sub £10k...i never regard Ducati a premium brand in the reliability stakes...nice job though!
Much easier said than done im sure but I think they should go all out with this single and make a whole more affordable Ducati range utilising this single. A scrambler (full on propper scrambler) adventure, enduro, cafe and sport.
Crazy how this single has a higher redline and makes the same amount of horsepower as my Nighthawk 750. Crazy what 30 years of tech will do!

Although I do get 13k from an investment in 2025..........food for thought.
Tall bike but those footpegs look really high up. Wonder how it will fit taller riders.
Supermoto should be as basic as possible. I don't think it needs all that tech and especially on a Duc with their unreliable electronics.
Think Ill stick to my 701 but it is good to have more choices in the segment.
Can we have a road bike with a sensible seat height for shorties
I am most interested in the Duc's wheelie assist feature of course, I have do that old school using the rear brake pedal on my 701 🤣
Finally, it looks closely similar to a proper Supermoto, not a Naked/SM look-alike.
I keep my 1100 evo SP 😊
So, changing piston, needs to half the engine first? Unusual for singles
At last! Ducati have woken up and produced a modern Supermono engine, will be great to see this engine in a lightweight road/adventure bike rather than a supermoto which is a marmite sector of the market.
Ducati have made themselves a problem though, any other mono engined bike they make would compete with their own L Twin bikes, eg, why would you buy an L Twin Scrambler if you could have a lighter, faster bike as a Mono, this engine could be the midrange future for Ducati
they need to use this engine for a dual-sport/light adv/rally bike with 140-155kg max for off road use
But can it do dirt like a KTM 690??
I was curiuos as to how they would arrange the counterbalancers. I imagine the KTM is more of a compromise on different frequency of vibrations.
I'd take the Ducati. :-)
I love kTm😁.
Seen Gas Gas under £8k,huge premium for a Ducati badge...with Honda and Suzuki coming in around £9500 with their twins with similar performance, their price point should have been around there, sub £10k...i never regard Ducati a premium brand in the reliability stakes...nice job though!
Im a old man (high milage rider) im kinda too old but gotta have this bike...i have a few old Duck's in my collection
İs it Supermoto ? Or Hypermoto ?
Honda must make a hypermotard with cb650r engine
Much easier said than done im sure but I think they should go all out with this single and make a whole more affordable Ducati range utilising this single. A scrambler (full on propper scrambler) adventure, enduro, cafe and sport.
Why hasn’t someone emulated the infamous husqvarna NUDA 900 parallel twin and no not in a duke formation I mean a propa supermoto with a twin
