FAQs??
-How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.

Thank you!!! I am working the Sophie’s Universe pattern and was absolutely lost on this stitch. Your tutorial showed me the way. I’ve been crocheting for 31 years and I’m still learning! You are a great teacher!
Haha I'm here from Sophie's Garden. I love that this was the top comment 😂
You are my go to for tutorials on any new stitches I come across and I also started crocheting a few years ago learning just from your tutorials so thank you ... it’s brought me hours of fun and I’m now making amigurumi characters which I love doing
You are very welcome :)
I love that you showed how to connect the crab stitch to the beginnings crab stitch! I watched a lot of videos and yours was the first I came across that actually showed how to connect them. Thank you thank you!
I'm so glad that it was of help to you :)
love the effect and such a simple stitch too!
I just finished crocheting an afghan for my husband for Christmas and I was looking for a unique border. This is prefect! Thank you!
@bellacoco Thank you for all your lessons. You have really helped me. Also really helpful that you translate the crochet terms. Thank you. I really hope that you will be on RUclips for a long long time.
Used this stitch as a hat border. Turned out really cute. I’ve been struggling with this stitch so I appreciate that I have mastered it after watching your video. Thanks!
Wow this so easy. I’ve been looking for a simple edge for a baby boy blanket. Almost finished and ready to wrap. TFS. 🦋🦋
So pretty and effective . Sometimes projects need a more simply border and this would be perfect . Looks a bit tricky working backwards !! Will have a try ! Lovely video xxxxx
I am using this stitch on hats, cowls, scarves. I love the crab stitch and could never master it until your video. Thank you so much.
Thank you, nice clear explanations! Finally managed to get the hang of this with your help!
I love this edge :) after a bunch of blankets I was getting bored of my shell edge. Can't wait to make this edge. Perfect for a boy blanket I have coming up.
I used this to edge a baby blanket and it turned out lovely. Thank you.
This has been really helpful and enabled me to add a neat edge to a newsboy hat I’ve been making
Thank you! Making gift hot pads and tried several different edges and frogged them all. Seeing your video I knew this was the right one. This first one is red with a bubble stitch center. Now it has a pale aqua stripe around it with red crab stitch on the last round. It's beautiful and now I know how I'll do the rest of them. You made the difference!
I'm glad that this was of help to you :)
I love getting my you tube bella coco notification from you. It's like waiting for a birthday surprise!
Absolutely amazing stitch. You are an excellent teacher.
thank you I've been wanting to learn how to do that stitch very beautiful
Thanks for this. Looks great and so easy to follow.
You did such an amazing job with this tutorial! I've watched maybe six other videos and could not get the angle right for my hook until I saw yours :) Thank you!
You're very welcome :)
Loved learning this stitch which looks amazing on my latest project😊😉
Oh I’ve been looking for a simple edge to finish a few blankets I have. Thank you for another great tutorial
You are very welcome :)
Just a beautiful stitch.............THANK YOU for sharing!
ty for the tutorial Sarah. It's amazing what stitches can be made from a hook. :)
Beautiful and clear tutorial. thanks
Thank you so much for your tutorial! I had forgotten how to do the stitch and needed a refresher video. You made it very clear and easy to pick the stitch back up again!
You are very welcome :)
Thank you soooo much for this tutorial. I was struggling with a project and this video helped amazingly. I knew I could trust you to be clear and at a beginner pace with great angles. Thank you!!!
You are very welcome :)
As always an excellent tutorial thank you
Excellent tutorial. It is easier to understand than the other one I just watched. Your way looks a little less complicated.
Your instructions are very clearly stated!! Thank you.
This was the best video for this stitch I've seen. You made this stitch so easy I can't believe how much I struggled with it watching other videos. Thank you.
You're very welcome :)
I haven’t crocheted anything before; I’m a knitter. Recently I made a shawl and wanted to put a border on it! This was a great tutorial and it ended up looking really cute! Thanks!
You're welcome :)
I swear this is the most useful crochet tutorial I've ever watched. the twisting of the hook just isn't mentioned in the written tutorials I've found and all I ended up with was backwards single crochet instead of the pretty twisted edge. THANK YOU!
You are very welcome :)
I'm learning to crochet and Sophie's Universe is my first attempt at making something. This tutorial has saved me from giving up as I was just not getting it right from either the book or the crochet-a-long. You've explained and demonstrated it perfectly and I'm now able to do it!
Glad I could help :)
Excellent, It is so easy when you can follow a tutorial.
Beautiful stitch!

Great, clear explanation & just the right edging for my project. :)

Another helpful lesson, thank you. Any plans to demonstrate Tunisian crochet? I'm struggling with the tension. 😕
Use a 2 size larger hook than what the yarn label call for
Great tutorial as always, thank you! I'm going to use this to finish the lemon peel stitch hot pads I'm making (double thickness in cotton yarn); I think this will be a perfect edge with the project.
Thank you :)
Thank you for showing how to finish off, without making it too bulky! That’s exactly what I was needing to see!

This tutorial is the best! I tried so many others and mine just kept looking like a regular single crochet. I was so confused and frustrated because I thought I was following them! This one was much more clear and simple to me. Now my I can finish the Frog and Toad amigurumi set for my toddler’s birthday. :)
