It's springtime in the rolling hills of southern New England as we continue renovations on our old a-frame cabin homestead. I race to finish repairing our long driveway and build new parking areas, we uncover vast amounts of rot on the structure of our home and more. We stay balanced with all the work by swimming in the stream, fly fishing and grilling dinner over an open fire with good friends.

I moved to NH last year, fulfilling my dream of living here with my wife and kids. We have also done several major projects on our house. Owning a house is always a chaotic mess... one thing after the next and unforeseen events and repairs always happens at the worst time. But we are blessed to live in one of the best places in the country. Don't get discouraged with your projects, focus on one thing at a time! I'm very impatient and want my vision for my house to be "done" so I can fully enjoy it, but half the journey is trying to enjoy the process of doing it and feeling glad you completed them all :)

It is when my wife and I work our hardest, sweat the most, and have to figure something out that we know it's a project worth tackling and it's the journey towards completion that keeps us going. I have always said that if it's worth having, it's worth waiting for. Sometimes the wait is in saving money, gathering materials or when the vision is 'just right' that we embark on something we can call our own. Enjoy the journey and remember that the process is always worth the provision.
