This Florida trip has been fun and a change of pace, it's been nice to see places that I doubt we'll ever get to. Thanks for sharing, and thanks to Jeff and Kellogg. Moo Moo is a star as always. 😁😁😎😎👍👍
When I was in elementary school in the late fifties and early sixties, we had several class trips to Tarpon Springs. We rode the boats and watched the divers harvest the sponges. It looked totally different back then.
So many people but that area looked pretty cool. Moo Moo is a good girl and for sure minds her manners. It's not Kelloggs fault he is spoiled......Moe sits on her Dads lap too when we travel! LOL
I loved Tarpon Springs when I was there a year ago. We didn’t walk all the way up and down the town though. We did eat at Hallers. It was good. I would bet all the Greek Restaurants are good there.
We have a Greek restaurant right around the corner from my house. Baclava (sp?) is usually made of philo dough pastry, chopped walnuts, honey and probably more. Yum!
Great video Ausia! I visited Tarpon Springs years ago and enjoyed seeing it again as you walked around town. Looks more touristy now though. Thank you for taking us along! 👍🫶❤
As always Great content and that is a place I will definitely check out the next time I am in Florida....I hope Moo Moo got a lot more than the birds!!!!
It looks like you had souvlaki. Delicious! I grew up in Sth Melbourne, which had a lot of Greek people. Their hospitality and parties are still fondly remembered. Great video.❤
You guys looked tired at the end of today’s journey. This is very much how MB has become, especially my beloved Murrells Inlet seafood row. No parking and people crawling all over the inlet boardwalk, and. restaurants. Be glad you sold out and escaped. That kind of crowding is exhausting. Can’t wait to see where you two go next. So glad you aren’t out in those panhandle fires. I think your family is further south in the state, so hoping all is well with them. Girl, it’s crazy weather this year. I hope this early warm weather doesn’t portend our summer future. But something is odd when the first few days of March and most of late February is in the 70.s. Near Chicago. We South Carolina, AF Brats never get travel out of our souls. rock on!
Ausia I just love this and what y'all had for lunch looked yummy. I enjoy meandering around places like this. It's fun to see the different creation people can come up with. So happy for y'all to spend some time there. Thanks! Hugs to Moo moo.
Thanks for the nice tour Ausia and Jeff. Interesting shops, especially the sponge one. Hellas probably has wonderful food but I was getting anxiety just as you walked by. (Very noisy, and too many people) Gyros and baklava were a good pick. My mom would've freaked at those sponge prices. She used them to dab paint on her ceramics to make spongeware back in the day. Have a good one!
Wow ! What an interesting town . I would luv to do that tour , and top it off with a Gyro . I haven't had an authentic Gyro in years . Loved that video 😃.
Such a FUN video! Yeah, too many people and very touristy… but that’s why there’s too many people, right?! 😅 I also had a wonderful time watching this one because it reminded me of a very magical moment in my younger days when my ex and I went to the Bahamas. We went on a special tour that allowed people to experience underwater diving like the old-time sponge divers, using those diving helmets like those shown around in your video. (Like you and MooMoo got your photo taken). It was both scary and magical at the same time! We got to see live sponges in action (ok, so there wasn’t much action…they just sat there blowing water out of one of those top holes, lol!) Got to meet a pet Grouper too, and other native fishies. I bet there’s similar tours available in areas like where you were at. Ours was almost 40 years ago, but I bet someone still runs tours like that. Thank for such a fun video! (btw, I wanted one of everything in that dessert shop! Diet busting moment!) 😂❤
HOLA 👋 & CUDDLES MOO 🤗 SO COOL ! I LOVED EVERY MINUTE , CURIOSITY HAS ME ,WHICH ONE OF THOSE FANCY SMANCY DESSERT WOULD YOU HAVE CHOSEN ? SAFE TRAVEL'S EVERYONE, ONWARD BOUND ✌ ❤ 🤲 🌊 🧜♀️
Moomoo's like get away from me you stanky dogs, don't you know I'm people!!! Shoulda got the spotted flamingo, just say-in you'll never see another one of those!
Ausia the sauce in the gyros is a Greek yogurt cucumber sauce. That's traditional for gyros. Gyros are typically beef and lamb stacked in layers in a upright spit and is roasted by great as it turns. The thing you weren't sure what it was is octopus. If you get the chance you should try a Greek salad. Only inn the Tampa Bay area are Greek salads served with a scoop of Greek potato salad which is to die for. Also if you get a chance you need to have a Cuban sandwich. They are unique to Florida and so delicious. Your videos are making me homesick.
I forgot to add that the dessert you had was called BAKLAVA. It's made with layers of philo dough, nuts butter sugar and honey. It's good but very, very rich.
Oh my gosh I wish I knew you were going to be there. I'm not there right now but I live at 15 Central Court. It's right on the tarpon Springs. There's a beautiful park there. Dolphins and manatee are there regularly

😋👍

😁👍 thanks ❤️
souvlaki is different, like a shish kebab or satay. gyro is like doner kebab or shawarma with different flatbread and toppings/condiments.
What a great day. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure! And thanks for watching 😁 👍
The sponges are pretty cool. The shells too.
Agreed 😊👍
Hellas is a delicious restaurant, the GetAGURU Soap shop is wonderful!

There is a place in Apalachicola that has sponges infused with goat milk soap and many different scents. I love them!
😊👍

This reminds me of the movie Cocoon lol but the little Cocoons haven’t grown yet and the aliens are only babies 🧽 🪨 👶🏻
Lol awesome 😂❤️

And actually Costas is my favorite restaurant there. I eat there at least once a week
Oh awesome 😊👍 it is a fun little town ❤️
Baklava is a layered dessert made of filo pastry sheets, filled with chopped nuts, and sweetened with syrup or honey.

Oh no 😕 that is a bummer
I'm surprised you've never had a gyro or baklava with all your traveling and eating out. Always new experiences around the corner, right? Be well.
😊👍❤️
Actually, Tunisia produces the greatest amount of sea sponges in the world, with Cuba a distant second, as far as gross tonnage.
😊👍 thanks for sharing
How does Jeff keep his figure? What an interesting town.
He walks 3 to 5 times a day 😁👍
According to history, the Florida Keys were the first for the sponges until they were over harvested.
Good to know 😊👍
Wonder how Moo Moo and Kellogg would have done on a boat 🚢 cruise if you choose to board one ❤
😊👍 moo moo good not sure about Kellogg though 🤔
What day was you at Tarpon Springs?😊
I believe it was yesterday, March 2nd
@@rvpandamonium if you had been there on the first, perhaps I would have seen you and MooMoo
Hella's would have been worth it. The food is that good. Plus if you eat there you get free parking. I go there just for that restaurant.
Awesome 😊👍 and good to know for next time
The divers in the beginning that were brought here were Greeks. I suppose PC made them say they're Meds now.
👍
I know of 3 spots in the augusta ga area with full hookup
İn the 21st minute jeff is explanining "Döner" which is also a Turkish cuisine not greek as well as baklava
And yoğurt
Cowmingo 🐄🦩
Hard hat diving is not scuba.
👍
Baklava is turkish not Greek
Nice area, but I couldn't stand all those people everywhere and usually 'in your way'!!
I understand ...it can be annoying 😊👍
