I was on Zoloft for five years. I decided to go off of it. Once I went off of it I could tell immediately how much better I felt! Zoloft put me in a numb exhausted fog
I was on 50mg for about 1 year. I tried to quit cold turkey and thats not the way, brain zaps, shivers shakyness, you just go straight to your packet to take one to get rid of the symptoms. I quit by missing a day a week, then missing 2 days at a time. Then going down to 25mg, and then taking that on and off only when i needed, then i was missing 5 days before i needed 25mg to stop the brain zaps. Eventually doing this one day i just didnt need to take anymore and it was gone from my life finally. This whole process took my about 2 months. Dont be put off, but you can get off it. Theres going to be some days where you feel like crap and your brain feels like a battery, but you will get there! Oh also, my anxiety is completely gone now, with no meds. I was aweful with anxiety when I first started taking it. Good luck everyone.
@@darkobryant2490 take them you might feel weird for the first month but it gets better my doctor says it takes a while to work. When you feel better and you are trying to quit you have to lower your dose follow instructions from your doctor
@@darkobryant2490 I'm so sorry that must be a pain in the ass having to take both of those. I wish these type of problems didn't exist. But my advice is to listen to your doctor and your gut feeling give it a try and if it's not right for you talk with your doctor and see if there's other options. It's definitely worth a try I hope everything goes good for you and you can feel better.
1993 started my dose if 200 mg a day. 2018 no more zoloft. I think age plays a factor as well. Mood swings and odd dreams. But now I feel great. Cry alot, but to honest I think that is 25 years of emotional arrest finally catching. And it feels wondeful. Don't go on these if you don't need to.
I was on Sertraline for a year. I came off it by tapering according to my GP's instructions and when I came off entirely I didn't have any problems. I've been off it for just over a year now, with no recurrence of my depression or anxiety problems.
I’ve been on 200mg for 8 years, 5 days ago I just stopped and the first 3 days were hell. Wow! Approaching 6 days I feel amazing, energised and focused, I’m not taking them again. For they stopped me feeling anything, no pleasure or pain and complete detachment from emotions, now I’m taking it one day at a time and on my treadmill. Good luck with your experiences
I'm trying to get off now. I have bad mood swings if I forget to take it. I kind of felt numb a while. I miss feeling happy, but I don't miss feeling sad. So I don't know what's worth it :/
When i started taking sertraline i had the fist week i had half a tablet then increased the dose to 50 and i have been on the medication for now nine months and i am really experiencing some great stuff
I'm 14 days off 150mg with stepping down slowly, so 14 days without any at all. I'm experiencing dizzy spells, insomnia and just random moments of things of hitting me like a train, emotionally I'm fractured and I Don't feel all there. I split up with my partner of 5 years 7 months ago and had a long battle with recovery from spine surgery and decided it was now or never. Have a brilliant and light filled day, such a gorgeous lady and genuine by the tone in your voice. Stay safe ,stay in the light 💙
@@HopewithMentalHealth hi, the null and numb feeling is definitely not as bad now and although the insomnia is a bit weird I'm coping now better. I hope you too are finding release from things and life is giving you what you deserve, you seem and amazingly strong lady x
Hey Maeve so sorry for the late reply! have just seen your comment! Oh thats so good to hear that it didn't effect you much, doing it slowly and contentiously is defiantly the way to go! x
@@HopewithMentalHealth I hit a wall st 45 mg tho and am still at that bc. My benzos hit tolerance and so now my focus is 5 years into a taper off them. .. and so long to go . It is hell and way scary
@@maevebathory666 I decided to taper over 6 months from 100 - 0. My doc suggested that I do it in 3 months, and she sold that as the slow option (!) . I'm sure you have your own reasons for doing it over a long time, but wouldn't it be psychologically better for you if the end was properly in sight? All the luck to you.
Slowly is the way to do it. I tried going too fast and ended with Brain zaps. Even when I went back up, miss a dose by a couple of hours and I'd get them. If you feel your GP is suggesting you come off too quickly, try talking to your local pharmacist. I've found them to be very helpful. Great vid btw!
I did cold turkey and it worked after 2 years on it,,, then I tried to return to using zoloft after being off for a long time,👉I got depressed more, and more so I quit and I’m fine ✌️❣️
Thanks for this, I was on 75mg and tried to quit without telling anyone and in the next couple days experienced all the things you were talking about; feeling 'blurry', out of it, wanting to stay in bed all day, the whole package. I'm trying to convince myself to just take them again, but it's hard. I'll have a talk with my therapist tomorrow and hopefully I'll get back on track soon.
I've just come down from 150mg of Sertraline to 100mg. It's been.. about a week and I honestly feel... not that much different other than feeling more anxious; just a constant niggling feeling of dread all the time. My dosage got lowered because I was extremely twitchy and had developed a tic, even, on the 150mg. So, I am finding that it isn't working for me anymore. After I slowly come off the Sertraline, I am hoping to try something else. Fingers crossed, it works out. Edit: I should mention I have been on Sertraline for 4 years.
I just started sertraline (5days ago) but last night I had a whole body numbness my mouth is still a little weird and I had a very bad bad anxiety attack did that happen to you is it normal?
Stop drinking alcohol if you do. Exercise frequently Eat healthier foods Get morning fresh air and sunlight Go for cold showers and ice baths Stop caffeine after afternoon so u can sleep better Try be consistent but dont feel bad if you have days where u want to spend under the covers Good luck 😘
Cesar Lemus Hi! I only just changed meds at the beginning of this year. It was a case of just swapping to the new one, no weaning off the Sertraline because it is also an SSRI. It was really hard, I was already anxious and depressed and things got way worse before they could get better. I am okay right now but the covid lockdown has nurtured my anxiety and depression, so, I don’t know how I’m going to cope with things going almost back to normal.
Taking levium a natural liquid or pill is what has helped me most. I was scared to come off but Levium has seriously made it easier. It’s been 7 months since I quite Zoloft and still no anxiety. I recommend Levium. It’s ALL NATURAL.
I went cold turkey kind of by accident about a year ago. I did really well for 6 months without Sertraline, oddly enough, then the anxiety came back like I had run into a brick wall. So I'm back on 100mg. It was really helping but I'm now doing CBT and a few other things going on, I'm really struggling again 😔
I've been Setraline for the past 3 years, wanting to come off them now though. Started at 50 too 100 then too 150mg. Now back down to 100. I keep getting itchy at night the now though, i think this can be a side effect too. I think they did help with them debilitating days of anxiety, as in i could cope more and they werent as frequent. I do still get some anxiety, but I've kind of taught myself in most situations now that im just goijg to do it, who gives a fuck, im going to die one day and so is everyone else around me, thinking like that put things into perspective and makes the thing ur worried about seem easy. Thats helped for me, but of course i still have some days whete i cant do anything, my head feels to scared to do anything encase i make a mistake and what other people think, thats not as bad now though. Stop Alcohol and drugs if u take them and exercise, join a club Eat healthier foods, Trust me ur body is ur mind, treat it well and u can fell fantastix

I’ve gone from 50, to 25, to 12.5 today. I’m in bed.. not feeling social or energetic at all for a Saturday but mood is good :) I’m so excited to be back to myself
How was withdrawal? I've gone from 50 to 25 and a couple of days later had bad anxiety sweating shivers so today took 50 again . How do I taper if I only have 50 mg and 100 mg tablets ? I wish I'd never started this stuff . I want to take more natural things for anxiety .
@@debbietaylor20 Hi Debbie, sorry to hear you’re in the thick of it! I learned the slower the better! You may need to cut up some tablets 50 was the lowest so I halved to 25 for a while which was easy as the tablets had a line for easy halving. But I then went to 12.5 which I had to cut myself. My issue was more low mood, depression, dangerous thoughts... anxiety isn’t as much of an issue for me and honestly the anxiety I have, Zoloft didn’t take away. I can happily say I’ve been off of it for weeks but the key was going slow. The first few days after lowering would suck, my worst side effect of withdrawal being brain zaps, and I would stay at that dose until I felt stable and didn’t have side effects before trying a lower one. I will say that it helps I live on my own, was not working and able to just rest through this. I think with work and normal life it would’ve been more difficult but still possible. It is so worth it, you’ve got this. Just allow yourself the time.
@@debbietaylor20 I’m sure these are things you’ve gone over with yourself but are there times you’re particularly anxious and are there times you’re not at all? Avoid those situations that heighten anxiety of course during this time and remember it will be more intense but change the mindset from ‘oh no I feel anxious I don’t want to feel anxious’ which increases anxiety to ‘ok, I can feel this again, I can hear some brain chatter, I know why my mind and body are doing this, it’s withdrawing from a chemical and it’s only trying to help me but I know better’ Don’t ever beat yourself up for struggling through something SO hard! Please avoid alcohol and increase your exercise. Those were key for me too. Ok that’s all from me sorry for writing so much 🙈🙂🤍
i've been on 100mg for over 10yrs just started on 150 but i don't like feeling like a zombie and mind fog i wish I'd never taken them i'm stuck on them for now.
Stopping seems impossible. Used for 5 years. At 150mg serious heart issues, that got better @ 100mg, better @ 50mg & stopped immediately @ 25mg. Stopped for 2 months. Felt horrible. Restarted with 25mg, for 3 years. Back to 12.5mg. Decided to stop. Went well for 3 weeks. Trembling, tinitus, libido problems now occurring. Very dizzy. This is no life, can't work this way. May have to restart again with 12.5mg, a dosis only to overcome withdrawal. Seems not to have effect on anxiety at this dose.
asphalt hedgehog I am having the same issues. It really frustrates me that this medicine has it s fangs in me so deep! I have myself down to 25 mg every other day, sometimes I can go every 2 days but just can’t seem to completely get off without feeling like I’m losing my mind! Symptoms from trying to get off are much worse then the symptoms I had when doctor put me on them years ago.
What’s up, just lost my sertraline bottle because I have ADHD as well as depression, and I’ve been going cold turkey for 2 days. This video helps. Thank you.
I've been coming off sertraline (with advice from my doctor) and I have been completely off it now for 3 weeks. I'm still experiencing brain zaps, fatigue, anger, irritability, anxiety and weepiness. Is anyone else experiencing withdrawal symptoms for this length of time?
Lydia Richmond I have too I’ve just lowered my dosage (trying for the second time ) and I’m still having withdrawal symptoms after 4 weeks. I hope you feel better soon xox
Addiction is not just for drug addicts. Withdrawals don’t discriminate, just because you’re not using known illegal drugs like heroin, benzos, or alcohol, doesn’t mean you’re immune to the horrible reality of drug withdrawals.
@Cr8tv Design I’ve been trying to rid myself of Mirtazepine for 6 years. I can hardly make it a few days. I’m 12 years without alcohol, 11 years without benzos, but the withdrawals I get from antidepressants are ungodly awful. And that’s not even SSRI anti depressants.. tricyclics are less severe to come off of.. To any one in a bad enough place that anti depressants are absolutely required to make you feel less terrible, i understand, comepletey, but to those who are prescribed them for mild anxiety or bouts of sadness when you have the ability to feel happiness or joy, don’t take this route. I had an easier time with other things in my life. Anti depressants are awful to come off of.
I've been 100mg for 20 years I'm having seizures and tremors and balance problems I'm going to talk to the doctor about coming off them I've got Aspergers and they said I need them but I'm worried these could be making me ill
Did you think that they helped you in your life during that time, specifically with any aspergers symptoms. I’m not trying to pry here, I was just curious about this medications impact on asd specifically
I have had to restart my withdrawal as I couldn't handle the brain zaps and feeling of emotions I had.it really was the worst feelings I have ever had.i am co.ing off the pills slowly and feel much better for it.i into week two of one pill every 2 days and start the half pill every two days next week.i wouldn't recommending cold turkey off these things to anyone as it really was a horrible experience.
cat how are you doing? I’m cutting cold turkey after taking it only for 4 weeks my body hated it and it made my anxiety and depression so much worse I’m on day 2 and it definitely is harder than day 1 but I’m hoping I just feel like myself again this is the first medication I’ve ever been on so I’m thinking meds just don’t work for me going to be trying therapy and working out wish me luck
Kayla M after a while i started taking them again because the withdrawals were worse than being on the meds and i mean i’m alright now idk. but i totally suggest telling your psychiatrist and if you want to try different medication then your psychiatrist can make recommendations for you. i have been taking it for probably a year now and idk it’s not my fav i might try and start taking a new one. but yes definitely therapy is a great route and don’t be afraid to open up so that they can give you the tools you need! i hope everything goes well for you :)))
cat the withdrawals were kinda bad the first day but I think because I only took them for 4 weeks they aren’t that bad I’m feeling a lot better now ! I start therapy next week and I’m staying medication free since my body didn’t like them but thank you !! ❤️☺️
There's a proper way to taper off this medication. Everything is a proccess. Patience is the key. By the way, for those men experiencing erectyle dysfunction while on Zoloft, I speak from experience, Maca root powder works great to increase libido and hold strong erections. I buy red maca in powdered form, 3 - 5 mg daily the geletanized form. I know that a huge part of the reason people want to quit this medication is because it lowers libido. The emotional numbness is the fun part of this medication and the real reason we all started taking it. Speak the truth to yourself first and foremost and never try to convince another person of a lie you haven't believed yourself.
I was taking 50 mg of Zoloft for a little over a year because I was having severe panic attacks that were sending me to the hospital. The Zoloft worked wonders and the panic attacked stopped immediately. I wanted to get off Zoloft because I wanted to get pregnant and felt like I didn’t need them anymore. So I quit cold turkey one day once I was out of my prescriptions. Two months later, I am happy to say no panic attacks and no problems! I had the “brain zaps” for about a week but other than that no issues! I’m here to tell you that you can do it. Do not be afraid! The Zoloft is only a placebo. Once you are off it, you will realize you don’t need it! Good luck my loves.
I ran out just 3 days ago. I cried last night because I feel as though these withdrawals are driving me crazy. I feel like I am not entirely present and it's so frustrating. Thank you for sharing your experience, it gives me hope.
@@lizar4692 you can do it I promise! Your body just needs to adjust. I’ve never cried so much since I’ve been off my Zoloft, but that’s because I actually have emotions now! I never cried while medicated. I’ll say a prayer for you, but just know that you don’t need it and you are stronger than you think 🖤
Don't talk crap. Sertraline is for sure not a placebo. It is very effective in treating MDD and other illnesses. There are a lot of studies about efficacy. Stop talking if you know nothing. By the way you're extremely stupid to get off cold turkey. Try that with venlafaxine or paroxetine lol.
I’m on Sertraline 100mg and 150mg Levothyroxine (underactive thyroid) haven’t taken my Sertraline for about 9 days now due to forgetting to order my prescription which should be coming in 2 days now. Phew!. Although in this time I got blacked out drunk and I felt fine, just a normal hangover, but I have started to get shakes and shivers in my arms. Is this normal whilst not being on the pill for a bit? But when I’m on the pill. I take them at 10:00am and by 1:00pm - 3:00pm I’m absolutely worn out, so I will sleep for about 2-5 hours and then have my dinner, stay up till about 11:00pm - 4:30am and then sleep for 5-6 hours. Does this routine happen to anyone else? How do I stop getting tired? Yes I do get fresh air to try and keep active and used to people. But it honestly just hits me and I just need my bed haha.
Thank you. I had a few bad days with 50 mg. So I skipped a day, then to half a pill. Then I went cold. Bad idea. I'm tired and achy. Flu symptoms plus annoying tickle cough in my throat. Watching your vid and talking to my bf, I took half today and am setting up an appointment with my doctor. I don't have any anxiety, Thank God! But I don't want to feel icky either.
Hope with Mental Health I took it for 3 days I don’t want to take it no more took 25 mg if I stop cold turkey will I get withdrawals just took it for 3 days do t like how I felt
This video made me realize how imperative it is to keep up with it. You can’t just suddenly not take it one day or miss a dose timing, etc. Horrifying. I had the worst past couple of days and I couldn’t figure out why. I’m new to the medicine (100MG). It’s so difficult having started it during the pandemic and with no real communication/guidance with a doctor besides on the phone. I had gotten so out of wack with when I was taking it. Thank you for this incredibly useful insight on it a bit.😰🙏🏽

I am looking to get off zoloft myself at the moment. I've mainly stuck to 25mg and it has helped my anxiety, but I have gained 10kg and feel like I have difficulty concentrating and apathy.
I have taken zoloft for 13 years, the first 5 it was pretty ok except when I would be in situations that would cause me anxiety. I had started with 25mg then 50 then 100mg and in 2011 I had a very bad withdrawal since I stopped cold turkey for about 6 months, but I was able to recover then the following year I stopped again and ever since I haven’t been the same, ups & downs even while been on it, it seems like I don’t respond to it like the first 5 years, although I had made an improvement the last 3 months so I went from 100-25mg but now am at a down again
Hi I have been on this for three months and decided to cut down to 25 from 50 . After a few days had bad anxiety again and sweating couldn't sleep . But I'm in the UK and as we only have tablets I don't know how to taper .

Been on 50mg now for about four months. Started almost half year ago now. Been thinking of coming off but worried about the side effects. It took me this long to kind of balance myself with the side effects of taking them
hey there, i was diagnosed with mild depression, and the doctor prescribed me 25mg and 50mg sertraline, Do you recommend me to try it?, my parents and i often fight for not trying on antidepressants, they say it's addictive and will ruin your life forever.
Ajay Poudel I was scared out of taking medication for SO long, no one told me anything positive about it. My parents were a big influencing factor too, they both weren’t keen on medication. Eventually, after a panic attack that almost landed me in the ER, the doctor put me on Zoloft 15mg to start. 11 months later, I’m on 100mg daily and I have not had a significant depressive or anxious episode for months. I feel normal, I feel bubbly, alive, it’s the greatest thing ever. Honestly, give medication a chance, everyone should - just know you don’t have to live like that. It’s not addictive, it’s just helpful and that’s why people can like it a little too much. Talk to your Doctor, ignore your parents, do what you think will bring you peace.
i have been 1 years on sertraline i use to in paroxetin for 3 years leaving paroxetin was not harder than sertraline alots of side effects i was on 50 decrease it 25 than taking it like one sugar now i am experiencing lightheadedness and cant control somtimes my angers

i dont benefit from my life when i have depression, and antidepressants one of the ways of healing from depression and anxiety regarding a few side effect for many poeple and this normal for all kind of pharmacological Medecines, Natural Medecines also help but taking the decision of cold turkey is hard especailly when a person suffers of Bad depression and anxiety, it ruined his personal life ,i think some body should think about healing from depression and anxiety with the consult of GP is the right mindset

For me 100 mg for 9 years, I switched to 50mg cold turkey and had sleeplessness and brain zaps for only a day maybe 1.5 days. Went from 50 to zero after 3 months of switching to the 50mg and have been miserable for three days now.. not recommended.
@@HopewithMentalHealth 👋 Hey there. It’s been over a month now since I went from 50mg to 0mg. I’m still getting occasional brain zaps each day, maybe only 3-4 of them and they are extremely mild in comparison to what they were. I was having probably 100-200 a day at my worst. My biggest problem now is increased anxiety and moodiness over the last month. I know I’m still going through withdrawals and telling myself this helps a great deal. I keep getting into these hour+ long “moods” where I feel like I could slam a door or lash out for no reason. I’ve never been this way, I’m actually one of the nicest people to be around IMO but these “moods” are pretty powerful. I’m thankful it’s short lived though and I do feel like I’m improving. Hi there, I’ve been on Zoloft (Sertraline) for almost a year. Started at 50mg, went up to 75mg, then up to 100mg. I’ve stayed between 75mg & 100mg for a long time. Recently I went down to 75mg, then down to 50mg. I can completely relate! I’ve felt flu like symptoms. Brain zaps. Been really depressed & just want to sleep all the time. I was / am in a really bad place anyway; (probably not the best time to come down or completely off). But I wanted to see how it would go. I mainly came down because my dreams were just so damn weird & I was even starting to sweat again whilst asleep, even tho I had been on 75mg-100mg for almost a year. Ironically coming down caused that for a bit again too tho. I just don’t know what to do! :( Part of me thinks I should go back up to 100mg. But if I feel this foggy & confused & depressed, I’m bound to have to go through it again in the future trying to come off anyways? I’m so low right now & there seems to be a correlation to what I’m attracting and the difficulties that have returned coming down on this medication, which just complicates things even further. I can’t find anything to help right now & all I’ve been doing is mainly sleeping or eating. I’d love some guidance. Glad I found this video. Thank you

May stay at this dose for a while because if this is what it’s like I’m not going to be able to return to work when it opens
Even i stopped taking my steralin100mg since a week and i feel really tired ,irritated, even fear that someone is gonna harm me and mostly severe headache this is almost making me helpless i think i need to start my medicine.
I wish I'd never started and addressed my anxiety naturally . I'm now trying to taper from 50 to 25 and have terrible anxiety , sweats etc . I've only been on it three months and put up with anxiety getting worse the first six weeks 😢 I want to take natural things like ashwagandha , kratom, niacin . I had Prozac in the past but never got withdrawal from them when stopping as apparently they stay in your system longer sertraline doesn't. Prozac though made me numb emotionally
@@debbietaylor20 If you don't want to be a medicine junkie you don't have to be but you have to do somethings, like get into a good exercise routine and get better sleep and do productive things etc, ether way, coming out of it from the point your are when depressed is hard to do and hard to see some light but always try and remember there is always another day around the corner and things can change if you help yourself.. How long were you go off? My wife when off for about 3 weeks now she acting really mad all the time and kept bringing up my ex who i dated 10 years ago.. Did you feel like that at all? Or just my wife beeing unfair. Thank you for your time. 😊
It's sort of like a flash of weird dizziness especially when you turn your head. Almost like you lose consciousness for a split second.. I have found the best way to deal with them is to stay busy, keep your mind busy. Move around and don't sit and think about anything. I'm on day 5 or 6 of dropping to 50mg from 100. The most annoying thing is my appetite has gone back up a little. I'll probably gain some weight, but this drug is false hope and an emotion killer. Sure it helps keep you out of full reality, but my thoughts are for long term. I am going to try to learn how to live without them, so I'm not 60 one day and a total zombie. I quit effexor before cold turkey, and that was absolutely the worst ever. I slept for 4 days straight. I'll stay on 50 for a while though, just to take the edge off because I quit drinking 6 years ago, and full reality blows.

I was on Zoloft for five years. I decided to go off of it. Once I went off of it I could tell immediately how much better I felt! Zoloft put me in a numb exhausted fog
Hi there baby

200 mg it's a LOT. I was on 100mg and felt kind of emotionless or less empathy. 50mg it's just perfect 👌.

Slowly is the way to do it. I tried going too fast and ended with Brain zaps. Even when I went back up, miss a dose by a couple of hours and I'd get them.
Hey thanks for sharing your experience, I hope you find something that works for you. Sam xx
I just started sertraline (5days ago) but last night I had a whole body numbness my mouth is still a little weird and I had a very bad bad anxiety attack did that happen to you is it normal?
Stop drinking alcohol if you do.
Exercise frequently
Eat healthier foods
Get morning fresh air and sunlight
Go for cold showers and ice baths
Stop caffeine after afternoon so u can sleep better
Try be consistent but dont feel bad if you have days where u want to spend under the covers
Good luck 😘
How are you doing now?
Sorry to hear you are struggling again, hope the CBT helps you. Sam xx
Stop Alcohol and drugs if u take them and exercise, join a club
Eat healthier foods,
Trust me ur body is ur mind, treat it well and u can fell fantastix

How was withdrawal? I've gone from 50 to 25 and a couple of days later had bad anxiety sweating shivers so today took 50 again . How do I taper if I only have 50 mg and 100 mg tablets ? I wish I'd never started this stuff . I want to take more natural things for anxiety .
@@debbietaylor20 Hi Debbie, sorry to hear you’re in the thick of it! I learned the slower the better! You may need to cut up some tablets
50 was the lowest so I halved to 25 for a while which was easy as the tablets had a line for easy halving.

This is no life, can't work this way. May have to restart again with 12.5mg, a dosis only to overcome withdrawal. Seems not to have effect on anxiety at this dose.

Addiction is not just for drug addicts.
Withdrawals don’t discriminate, just because you’re not using known illegal drugs like heroin, benzos, or alcohol, doesn’t mean you’re immune to the horrible reality of drug withdrawals.
Agree, thank you for your comments.

But it honestly just hits me and I just need my bed haha.

hey there, i was diagnosed with mild depression, and the doctor prescribed me 25mg and 50mg sertraline, Do you recommend me to try it?, my parents and i often fight for not trying on antidepressants, they say it's addictive and will ruin your life forever.
Do yourself a favor and read the book lost connections before you choose to take anti depressants.
On setraline 25mg for 6 months now, trying to taper off wish me luck
Does anyone get palpitations and sore head coming off sertraline??
i have been 1 years on sertraline i use to in paroxetin for 3 years leaving paroxetin was not harder than sertraline alots of side effects i was on 50 decrease it 25 than taking it like one sugar now i am experiencing lightheadedness and cant control somtimes my angers
Hey, so sorry for the late reply! oh that sounds awfull, how are you finding it now?
I started sertaline 2 weeks ago and I’m feeling great! I was prescribed 50mg but I’m only taking 25mg because I figure if I feel this great on just 25mg why take more?? But reading all these comments are really scary to me 😓
Cheese B that’s wonderful you feel great. Please don’t worry, everyone has such a different experience with medication. If you are feeling great that is all that matters x
Cheese B try not to be too worried everyone’s body reacts to it differently to it unfortunately some people have a really bad reaction but a lot of people can come off it with just feeling sick for a couple of days. Xoxo
Don't be scared. If/when you are ready, just taper VERY slow and you be fine
Tom Morrison hey how u doing after a year are u off medication do u still doing well?
I have been off Sertraline for just 16 days was on 200mg went down to 100mg for 2 weeks then stopped as I was Thed up of the weight gain was ok for a couple of days the last few days my mood hasn’t been good want to go back on it but not sure what dose to go back on?

I've been on 50mg Sertraline for a month and wanting to cut down to 25mg is this safe to do
Hi there! Thanks for sharing your story!
Thank u x
Can somebody tell me the benefits of going off antidepressants?
Hey Lizz, so sorry for the late reply! I am not completely sure! have you spoken to your GP?
i dont benefit from my life when i have depression, and antidepressants one of the ways of healing from depression and anxiety regarding a few side effect for many poeple and this normal for all kind of pharmacological Medecines, Natural Medecines also help but taking the decision of cold turkey is hard especailly when a person suffers of Bad depression and anxiety, it ruined his personal life ,i think some body should think about healing from depression and anxiety with the consult of GP is the right mindset
Surprised that no one has mentioned suicidal tendencies on this drug
Are you still taking it?
This is really interesting as I had a really similar experience, thanks for sharing as I really feel I cannot talk about this with people in case they judge me.
No one judges. We are all friends on here. :) I have just started Sertraline and I am experiencing some really horrible side effects. I am on day three of 50mg. Did you have stomach pains? x
What I'd like to know is if you guys experience body numbness
@@artisticafflair408 I haven't experience any stomach pains but I've been on it for 5 days
I must be a sensitive flower, because I'm coming off 100mg slowly and have lowered 2 doses a week to 50 mg and just feel like utter crud the next day. Extreme fatigue, dizzyness and headaches. Oh joy. 💩😐
Hey, So so sorry for the late reply, and sorry to hear you are struggling with it, how are you getting on now? x
@@HopewithMentalHealth Thanks for replying - I wasn't expecting one! Much better now my body's got used to the idea, but I slowed it right down, which has really helped. Thank you 💜
I'm on 100 m went 2 days with out.Started taking them again but only 50m.what should I expect.will update in a thew days
Thank you for sharing hope you are doing ok. x
Iv been missing a day then taking 5omg every to days not feeling to bad.No brain zappes a little anxiety but not bad.I feel like I'm a bit more with reality than when I was on 100mg.Which made me feel like a zombie
I just threw them out of the window (from 10th floor) and just stayed in bed for 24/7
not a good idea, what if a child found them and ate them all?
@@omsnaga no worries, my parents took them off
🤣
For me 100 mg for 9 years, I switched to 50mg cold turkey and had sleeplessness and brain zaps for only a day maybe 1.5 days. Went from 50 to zero after 3 months of switching to the 50mg and have been miserable for three days now.. not recommended.
Hey, so so sorry for the late reply, Wow this does not sounds good at all, How are you feeling now? Hope you are ok, Love Sam x
I would like to update this comment again in another month but 95% chance I will forget unless someone comments on it again.
@@kumd did the brainzaps stop?
@@bridarby2299 Sorry for the late reply, they did. They were only bad for a week or two but I had them for about a month after. After my last comment 5 months ago I don’t think I’ve had another one. Hope you aren’t going through withdraws 😐 If you are just know it’ll be over soon.
I had taken straline for about 10 years. What happened if I suddenly stop taking setraline ?
Mohd Fikri this is something you need to discuss with your doctor before anything. X
I heard you are supposed to slowly come off it like lowering you're dose and maybe even taking half a pill (whatever your doctor tells you) idk why though I just started taking it 5 days ago.
At 100mg, even if you miss a few doses, you will get insomnia and brain shocks. Scary stuff.
Pete Tews yea i do feel that .even my headache is at the peaks
I’m on day 5 cutting it cold turkey, I was taking 100mg a day. I don’t get headaches but I do feel nauseous and light headed.
Well holy shit. I'm on 350mg sertra per day... that's just to help with BPD, then plus 200mg lamotrigine, for dissociation and anxiety, and 50mg amitriptamine for migraine pain and depression
I think immabe on meds for the foreseeable future then 😬😬😂
Sensi Star good luck to you, hope whichever decision you make with your meds is healthy and works best for you.
Sensi Star 350mg Sertraline? That’s way way too high! You may have or get serotonin syndrome! Please speak with your doctor
This is why im scared to get on anti depressants. Once your on. Your on for life
It is not something to be frightened of, as long as you are being guided and regularly checked up on by your GP. x
Just reduce Sertaline in 25% steps a week. No withdrawal symptoms will appear.
Ive been tapering for over a month from 100 to now nothing and i feel like absolute garbage. my last 25 was three days ago. I would have double my time if I knew. we are all different tho blah blah blah
@@polychromy_romy Wait a month and you will start to get better. I was tapering Venlafaxine for 5 weeks from 75 mg to 0. I also felt like shit when I was on zero. But after a month I started to feel great. Unfortunately my depression came back 5 months later.
Thank you! It's a wild ride but glad to know it's not a lonely one
Hi there,
I’ve been on Zoloft (Sertraline) for almost a year.
Part of me thinks I should go back up to 100mg.
Thank you
Surya Ananda hey, I am currently going off 25 mg which seems very little but I am feeling very bad and yeah. I dont know how you have decided, but I hope that you are fine and well and can enjoy life.
Hey I been on 100mg for a 8 months now and then 2 days ago I lower my Sertraline to 50mg is that a bad idea? Will I get brain zaps and any other side effects ??
I have a question, you look like you didn't gain any weight on Zoloft.. Is that right? Thank you for replying .. Hugs from Belgium
Was thinking the same thing, looks like she didn't gain any weight
i dont know how to write everything in english so i will write in greek.
Trying to come off 50mg cold turkey
It's been 4 days and I feel
Dizzy
Irritable
Nightmares
Racing thoughts
Brain Zaps
I think I might go back on it and ask my doctor
Me too. I'm on day three. Feel hazy, tired, brain zaps, vivid dreams. Not sure if I'll continue this way.
Hey Paul, so sorry for the late reply and sorry to hear you are struggling with it! how are you finding things now? Love Sam x
I was just prescribed this. Today is supposed to be my first day at 25mg for anxiety and I'm very very leering of taking it because I don't want to become dependent on a drug to make me feel "normal". 😢😰
Helen Gomes same here but it works after a few weeks
Did you guys experience body numbness? I just started 5 days ago and last night was really bad for me
I also don't like depending on drugs this is so annoying.
How is it going for you all? I’m in the same position now i was prescribed Zoloft for my generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety but I REALLY don’t wanna take medicine. I don’t see any true benefits for it in the long run.?
@@eileen66 so far I feel more calm. I don't argue with my bf as much as I used to and my anxiety is a lot better. I've been having side effects every day it's different it's the only thing I don't like about the medicine. I'm probably going to have to call my doctor tomorrow just to make sure the side effects are normal.
just found this video and been reading everyone’s comments and it’s been so so helpful to learn I’m not alone. I’ve been tapering very slowly and on my doctors recommendation have just dropped to 25mg every other day which is the final dose before I can stop. I am exhausted constantly and my headache feels like someone is clamping my head from all angles, and my dreams are so so weird and vivid all night. May stay at this dose for a while because if this is what it’s like I’m not going to be able to return to work when it opens
Hey Lauren! so so glad you found the video helpfull, How are you finding things on it still? lots of love Sam x
Even i stopped taking my steralin100mg since a week and i feel really tired ,irritated, even fear that someone is gonna harm me and mostly severe headache this is almost making me helpless i think i need to start my medicine.
Maybe best thing to do is to speak with your doctor? Maybe they can make recommendations? X
iv neen prescribed this, do you think i should start doing them
Be guided by your doctor. For me it has been mostly positive. Sam x
NO
I wish I'd never started and addressed my anxiety naturally .
Pull yourself from the wreckage and see the light, some people don't even need these prescriptions, i didnt in the end, it doesn't sound like they are helping you, so just work at it and try everything else you can.. remember that the sun keeps shining bright and the world keeps turning... All the best....
How long were you go off? My wife when off for about 3 weeks now she acting really mad all the time and kept bringing up my ex who i dated 10 years ago.. Did you feel like that at all? Or just my wife beeing unfair. Thank you for your time. 😊

Yes I find this true to but at least it helps a little I guess, love sam x
Thanks for sharing on RUclips, and how do you fill now?

Explain Brain Zaps?
You turn your head to check your blind spot when driving and you get this pain zip up the back of your neck into your brain zapping you.
two words: brain zaps
Would you describe the brain zaps?
Please ..
David FP thanks man yeah im choosing the all natural alternatives stuff from the earth not chemicals and man made products with a whole bunch of side effects to that solve one thing and bring forth like 10 other problems ya know thanks again though.
Doctor said tt is not addicting.🤪
Omg I've only been on it three months and want to come off it . Withdrawal is horrible .

I nearly caved in and went back on but thought no I've got to get this stuff out of my system. I'm now on day four of Prozac so been off Zoloft a few days . I hope that was the last withdrawal .
