- Lacey Sturm had a gripping testimony at the Festival of Hope in Oslo.
She tells here how she lost faith in God's care when her cousin was killed and she felt she could never be happy again.
She was attracted to the dark and hated happy people. She became more and more depressed and decided to commit suicide.
But on the day she had decided to do this, she was surprised that the grandmother was at home. And as a punishment because she had skipping schoole, her grandmother said that Lacey had to go with her to the church.
Lacey protested and said what she meant about Christianity, but the grandmother was a strong woman who held that Lacey had to go to the church that night. Finally, Lacey reluctantly agreed.
She sat down on the back bench and felt that she hated everyone there. But when the preacher began to speak, she felt that he was just talking to her and about all the problems she had. He begins to speak to the pain in her heart. And so he stops and began to cry. Lacey was supraised. Christians crying? Why is he crying, she wondered.
Then he said: 'There is a suicidal spirit in the room. God has a plan for you to night, and he don't want you to die! He has a plan for your life! Pleas come up her and let us pray for you!'
But Lacey just want to run away. It was pride that prevented her from going forward. Pride will steal your miracle - but it is not worth that, she said.
Lacey now wanted to leave the church, but an older man stopped her and said, 'I feel that the Lord wants me to talk to you'. And he looked at her with eyes full of purest love she ever had see in strange mans eyes, and it makes her stand still.
'Why are you looking at me like this', she asked him. He said: 'God wants you to know that even if you have never had a earthly father, he will be a better father for you, than any earthly father can be. And he had seen when you cried yourselfe to sleep every night. Your pain comes from your own sins and the sins of other people against you and your family. But did you know that Jesus died on the cross for to take the effect of sin on himself? So we don't have to carrying it in our heart this pain anymore. If we put our faith on him, he kan renew our heart and free us from that pain,' the man said.
And so he asked if he could pray for her that Jesus will take the pain out of her heart.
'Ok, you can try, you can pray,' said Lacey to the man. And he prayed God to embrace her, and for the first time she felt the presence of God. For the first time she knew that God is real!

Her testimony still brings me to tears. I grew up in a Christian home but when I became a teenager I became rebellious and I decided to form my own identity, turning away from God and becoming an agnostic, because I didn't understand religion and didn't honestly want to bother with it. But despite all of my running away, God sought me out. I became depressed and suicidal and felt as though no one truly understood, except the friends I had made that ran in the same destructive direction I was going in. But I made a friend at my high school who was a Christian, and she invited me to her church. I figured going would make my parents happy and would be a chance to hang out with her. One day we were sitting outside the youth group building and she played some songs from her ipod, and the one that stood out to me was I'm So Sick from Flyleaf. And it was the first time I heard a female rock singer sing about all of the pain I felt. So I looked up more of the band and found her testimony video. Lacey planted one of first seeds that showed me the goodness and the love and the truth of Christ. God used her to show me that hope is found only in Jesus Christ. And now, at 23, God has shown me the importance of being bold and sharing the Gospel, because there are still many who need to know the only way that leads to life. God loves you, He's real, and He's the only hope for humanity.

im often a lost soul, ive experienced depression, stress, loneliness, wholeness....life is so precious and so hard at times, life has gotten better with my wife by my side but at times I've felt like a disappointment, to myself, to my father, to my kids, to my wife but at the same time I've felt joy, pride, and I think its all been from the lack of faith and stubbornness to let the lord in my life, I have slowly been letting him back and I feel a difference. this speech brought a 42 year old man to tears. thank you for sharing this

One of the most heartfelt testimonies I've ever heard. I admit I cried while listening as I've had a moment in my past when I felt like a lost lamb who was detatched from the love of my heavenly father. Lacey's testimony is truley spoken from the heart. I was itroduced to Lacey's music when her song MERCY TREE was presented as a special during an easter servic at my church.
Last summer i had the pleasure of hearing Lacey at a local rock festival. Her music is AMAZING and meaningful. Whenever I find myself lost and drifting, I listen to the lyrics of Lacey's songs and it helps bring me back to a happier place.
Wow. I have seen and believed, a year ago I would’ve criticized and gave a logical/psychological explanation for this. But the comforter which Jesus spoke about came to me, bringing back to memory 23 years ago my first awakening, I laid my spiritual life down then because everyone accused me of being wrong, a witch, a devil. And last year memory came to me through the words of Neville Goddard, a comforter to my ordeal, bringing back everything I had forgotten in God and reminding me, although I walked away, he was always with me. Now, no one will ever take this away from me. And life with God is unquestionably perfect. I see the face of God every day in my life, a friendly smile, children playing, a beautiful day, this is the face of God, and to know this is to live in God and know that God lives through you and is a God of the living. Thank you for your testimony, I see God in you and you’re purely beautiful.

My Brother remembers staying up all night with Lacy to make sure she did not kill her self when she lived with her granny in Gulfport ms we use to hang out with her at her grannys house we listened to her sing and play guitar and her granny made the best breakfast ever we watched movies and had some good times over there!

When I first heard fully alive by flyleaf I had been in a place shortly behind where she was. High school. Almost giving up on god. And that song popped on vh1 And heart opened again.
Her music has touched many people. Even if they didnt realize they were listening to music inspired by god they were receiving a message that would one day change them. I've seen atheists (old friends of mine) receive message from their lyrics and slowly over time brought them to god. It was just a nudge into gods arms. Once they felt the warmth they gave into it.
God bless Lacy and her husband. God brought them together and they are making pockets of good in this world that we desperately need.

Ty so so very much for sharing this video. Lacy ty so much for sharing your story. I lost my faith long long ago and have yet to regain it. I felt Him near me when I broke down and began to cry bc your story and the passion with which you tell us truly touched my soul. It stirred some thing in me that I haven't felt in almost 20 years. I have prayed for death since 2008 and have been severely suicidal for the past four years or so. Everyone and every thing I have ever loved has abandon me or been taken away by someone I loved so deeply and trusted with my life yes my own mother is the one who took them away. That was alright at first but when she began tks brain washing and her jealousy bc they still wanted me in their lives they still loved me more then anything her jealousy fueled more brain washing and now thanks to her I have been alienated by the ones I love more then life itself. With our them I have no purpose in life therefore no reason to live.I not want rp hear all this crap about how I need to fight and I can chafe it and blah blah bc ,I have for over 10 years and it's done nothing but get worse and worse and worse bc of her manipulation she did the same thong to me as a child trying to come btwn me and my father and it didn't work on my end but she had managed to turn my own father against me now to along with every single family members I have. I couldn't tell you the last time I was genuinely happy inside. Idk why I was given life but I wish with every inch of my being I had never been. Only thing I wood nd change is the creation of my children the rest can burn to ash.

Charlotte, we dont always know why the god puts the hardest experiences people who he believes can handle it, the fact that you've thought about ending your life but have not is a testament to my statement, the fact that you share your feelings here is the lords way to show you that there are other people who will pray for you, who want your life to change, who are total strangers yet don't want to see someone lesve this earth. i hope you found peace and strength and these 3 years since you wrote this have made you see there is more to life than what you think or see there was/is. stay safe, stay proud, stay awesome and keep smiling, all the haters hate when all their shit rolls off you and nothing can stop you

I grew up being forced to go to church every Sunday. As I grew older I totally lost faith in God. I don't go to chruch anymore nor do I believe God exists. I sometimes tell myself, if God exists, show me a sign and I will worship you once again. I honestly wish something like this would happen to me. This is a very touching testimony and it literally brought me to tears. Lacey you are a wanderful person. I wish you well......

Long time fan . To each his own she's happy , she's hear . I don't like that she had a girlfriend and claims Christianity " cured her of that sin " 🙄 . You aren't gay if it's something you can turn off. Fact when she had a " girlfriend" the whole bicurious bisexual thing was a trend. That's where I don't respect her .
When did she ever claim that her homosexuality was cured and that it's a sin? She's worked closely and is friends with LGBTQ+ people, she isn't lgbtphobic.
And there are plenty of Christians who aren't homophobes.
She had a girlfriend when she was younger, but what of it? Now she has a husband, and that's fine. Her sexuality doesn't need to have a label.

I wish god was real
I used too believe I used too feel it but you get older that feeling fades
When you get older and life begins to come at you it can be tough. Emotions will throw you for a loop. Don't rely on feelings becaue God is more than emotion. Some days God can feel close other days its like he was never there in the first place. That is where faith comes into play because you don't see God and can't physically touch him. My advice to you as a christian in my 20s dealing with doubt and trying to find my own relationship, When God feels far away or not there at all do not give up. The warm feeling faith in God was in childhood was great but faith must grow with age especially as we get older and life begins to happen.

Sure there is a God. We in fleshly skin all of a sudden or slowly didn't got ourselves evolved as atheist beleives it to be. If thats true, where comes emotions, feelings, anger, etc. ??? All of that requires a soul, a body and a spirit. And thats where God comes into the picture. And that God is JESUS CHRIST. Bible has enough evidence to prove the very existence of God to beleive than anyother religious fictional Gods. And most importantly JESUS's grace is important for a person to know him. Seek him and he'll be found. If you die disproving JESUS'S existence you'll end up dying the same. But if you seek from the bottom of your heart then he'll find you. I'll pray that you will find JESUS brother, Amen...
