I have bookmarked this for every day use. Now I don’t need to shuffle around and try and find individual videos. This is great thinking. Thank you so much! 👍👍👍
This is an amazing body of work and will be a great help to me for future projects. Sewing can be very frustrating on occasions but you have a knack of explaining things very clearly and simply. Without doubt, you have a rare gift for teaching and have made these sometimes complicated sewing and fitting techniques understandable and easy to follow. I found it interesting too! Thank you!
Claire. This video is truly a gift. I have never seen a sewing "tips" video that was so enjoyable. When I saw the length of this video, I was so tickled because your style of sharing is so genuine and affable. It's like you have an open door for us to visit and have a cup of tea while we chat and you are simply, but wonderfully sharing your projects. Thank you!
Thank you. I don’t normally do time stamps because they negatively affect the growth of the channel but in a video this size it’s essential really. Very pleased it helped you.
Thank you so much for this video, I cant tell you how helpful it is. I am trying to get back into sewing after many years of ill health. You are so down to earth, thank you again, take care from Newcastle xx
What a great compilation. You have helped so many of us and saved endless searching on different sites looking for that “ how to” segment. Many thanks 😊😊❤
This video is great!!! What a clever way of taking advantage of things you've already filmed. You're so knowledgeable and this video really illustrates that!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so very much. This video is awesome. I love all your videos really. Put this one immediately in my favorites. Thank you again from a beginner that appreciates everything you share. Learned a bunch from you.
If I was to get that Simflex button gauge, I’d have to hid it from my hubby to stop it being relocated to his workshop for tenon joints heh heh. Good video but you must be exhausted now. Save your spoons!
The fabric you linked to for the main fashion fabric has stretch, would you do anything differently with it? And when you interface the waistband, do you fuse each piece individually or block fuse? I sometimes get shrinkage when I fuse each piece, but I dislike block fusing because I waste a lot of interfacing. Looking forward to this sew along to learn the lining techniques. Thanks for all your great videos Whitney! I use the tutorials all the time.
Thanks for this video, it was definitely worth the wait 😁 how did you calculate the amount of neckline that you needed for the spotty Jersey top? You took away 8 inches (I think) what is the way to work out how much you need? I hope this makes sense lol xx
It depends on how stretchy your fabric is. I usually take 10-15% off the neckline measurement. It’s something you learn over time but I’d start with 10%, pin and assess. You want to have to stretch the band in but not so much it gathers. Hope this helps.
Hello Claire. Thank you for all these useful tips :) I have a little question if you don't mind: how come you use a straight stitch to attach the knit neck binding? Isn't the collar supposed to be able to stretch a little?
Yes but because you are stretching it as you sew you can use a straight stitch because it won’t stretch anymore than when you’re sewing it. Though most of the time I do use my serger. Hope that helps.
Thank you for watching! I hope it’s of some help to you.
Love this video! I’ve already saved it to refer back to when I need help:)
