With that big cut in that area, it was a good decision to stop the fight. He will not feel comfortable continuing the fight with that cut in that sensitive area( you just can't protect it from getting more severe cut if the fight go-on). It's like someone took your right hand away and how do you continue to fight? LOL

You could see the bone. He could have flayed half his leg if he kept going.
It was a good stop by the doctor indeed. Look at the area and the size of the cut. He would not be able to protect it from getting more severe cut and will not feel comfortable continuing the fight though. A very good call.
This isn't amateur Kickboxing. These guys fight for pay check. There was only 1 round left so Sergej would have been fine.
Many fights have continued with bad cuts. Look at Rico V Jamal last time.
It should be fighters call to continue with these cuts.

Sernej need the same long ankle brace Aerts started to wear in 2005. I remember when Aerts lost to Francisco Filho in 1997 due a cut on his shin. In 2005 Aerts had the same cut against Mighty Mo, but the corner made a "Band Aid". Ater 2005, Aerts started to use a long ankle brace.

This is one of those things that I hate about the fight organization rules. It's a fight. People forget if this was outside of that ring, mutual combat agreeable, it wouldn't stop for that wimpy cut. It wasn't affecting his performance, wasn't hindering him in any way, and I've had a split cut like that before on my shin as well, with no damage to the bone. Cleaned it up and got back to work. This is bullshit. This is an eyesore for Glory Kickboxing. I hope this gets overturned and appealed. If you're a fight fan, you'd be as upset as his opponent.
