  • Season 3 of Scientology and the Aftermath has now begun with a vengeance. In the first episode, Leah is highlighting the abuses and crimes of the Jehovah's Witnesses. The JWs are a massive, worldwide destructive cult that have been investigated and it has been proven that they hide pedophiles in their church and break up families through their cultic shunning and other horrible activities on the same level as Scientology. JW activist Lloyd Evans and I talk about his impressions of this first show, what it was like to participate in it and the JW's destructive practices.

    My wife who passed away 2 years ago was raised a jehovah's witness and left about 10 years before I met her. She told so many things that she had to endure and its good to hear people speaking out against them.

    Thankyou Chris for sharing in our elation over the show exposing the dark underbelly of the JW org. I really liked how you said that not everything in these high control groups is bad, but that the good stuff doesn't negate the bad. When the JW hierarchy continues to refuse to acknowledge the abuse it makes those who've been abused shout louder. Here's to shouting at the top of our voices! Thanks to Leah and Mike and all those wonderful brave people on the panel!

    I'm a never-in and so saw the Leah Remini show with fresh eyes. Trust me, the JW organization came across as creepy and cruel. Starting out with a clip of Stephen Lett looking and sounding very Marshall Applewhite-esque set the tone and it was a journey into crazy town from there. Every clip of JW leadership after that brought memories of historical bonafide criminal-level cults (think Gerrit Losch = Jim Jones). The editing was flawless, contrasting between leadership saying dont go to college and the lady living in a tent. Between leadership praising the children who refuse blood and the real story of heartache after the ladies little brother died. A rock was turned over last night and the world got to see all the ugly squirming evil underneath. It was powerful.

That title expert exposer belongs to none other than jehovah himself. It all started with adam and eve, he exposed them and sentence them to death.ananias and sapphira. Also was immediately sentence to death. Jehovah sees things that are going on now that was going on with his chosen people before.everything thats done in the world is naked and open to his eyes. And guess what?? Whether it be his people or adversaries. He will take care of all, rest assured it will happen. In his own due time he will cleanse this earth from one end to the other. Jer.25:33

However when, in pre op, I was asked to sign that I accept a blood transfusion, if necessary, she did a total freak out. Yeah, her aim was to convert you to being a Jehovah's Witness, and she thought she was half-way there already. Their anti-blood-transfusion policy wasn't there from the beginning; they picked that belief up from somewhere right after WWII. So, they went 60 years accepting blood transfusions (although they were anti-vaxxers for much of that time), then flipped their policy. It's probably caused more JW deaths than any other non-natural causes. Some estimates run as high as 10,000 JWs dead over the 70+ years they've had that policy in place.

      Italian Vaper I left after my husband committed suicide after a committee meeting. My mom was a supposed anointed until only the GB I guess can have that privilege. Let's just say it didn't fit their narrative with everyone partaking.
      Sad thing is I started smoking so they'd leave me alone. My mom begs me to come back and quit smoking. I'll never go back. There's no love. If I suffered it was always at the hands of these people. I've experienced first hand the Pedophialia abuses and cover ups. It sickens me that my family is still in this Cult Culture. No one is ever there for them out of love, now if money is involved they're right there with hands wide open.
      My parents had a so called brother suppose to be fixing a Rolls Royse totally refurbish job. He's had the car for 13 years, it's no where close to being touched. They gave him $25,000 dollars to redo it. My parents are up in years. When they pass as we know will happen because they have health issues. My brother and I whom are Not JW's are going to expose this man for his fraudulent scheme towards my parents and the congregation who enables him to continue his fraud against any in the church. If you know anyone who works at refurbished automotive in Arizona claims to be a JW watch out. Especially if they're sick and elderly people. He steals from them. I've seen my parents so worked up over the fraudulent practices of these people they're in tears, and the elders do nothing. He should be behind bars. That's where he's gonna be when we catch up to him. The criminal abuses of these people needs to stop! I'm glad they're being exposed. Stay strong, the truth when a spotlight is shining on it will always prevail.

      " your to old for Halloween, they again are betrayed by another adult " the teen has been rejected by society, exactly like the cult says you would be..stay here within the truth in the church we are the only ones who will love for you
      . It never leaves you ,being in a cult , it is a remembrance that you begin to think Religion is an destructive organization, ( yes it is )! The the cult says let's collect tithe ' , they want nothing to do with The joy of Christmas , valentine day , Easter ,all, forbidden birthdays is forbidden facts to control anything BECAUSE ...these fun days take away from the money , that the leaders wants you to spend your money on the church which is them , not you as maybe you have 4 to six kids , that makes it more difficult to the congregation if they spend their hard earned money on themselves ..so a rule is to make everyone follow that the elders , deacons , priests, ministers , leaders have more for themselves by informing the 10 % tithe rule plus more on holy days , on church sanctioned days ... and no Absolute " man made holiday Accepted so rulers in these organizations they are very secret and if don't obey them you are shunned or disfellowshipped , marked as an apostate Because you did not follow the Cult rules . Abuse is rampant , child abuse , beatings , sexual abuse all hidden when spoken about , The abuser gets to stay and the one telling his OUT ...anyone who have not ever been in a cult have no idea the the pressure as a human being to conform to this is barbaric , yet we voluntarily went because we wanted to be good to people and learn .
      When you get in a destructive group , you are nor shown the true colours at first it's yeh yeh , people come welcome you , them you learn more bizarre rules ...wow I have gone on and on ...

    So happy to see you guys after the phenomenal show by Leah and Mike and A & E. Chris, I first watched Lloyd on your channel when you three apostates (including Jonathan Streeter, the ex-Mormon) did a few shows that really woke me up and made me hungry for other cults to be exposed as you were doing with Scientology. I feel so proud of you both and I hope that this is just the beginning of light being shined into the darkness that still holds so many captive. Also, I have such respect for the participants who were very brave in coming forward - I was literally reduced to tears. Thank you so much. I'm hopeful the Mormons will be next.

    I was raised in the Methodist church but these topics intrigue me. I’m so glad y’all are exposing these cults. My question is, could they not take their tax exempt status away. I’ve watched Leah and Mike from their first show and hear very little about God in these cults. Go after their tax exempt status and watch them fall! The abuse and the separating of family is horrible. Thank you for all you do!!! I’m also horrified at the Mega Churches (like David Taylor) leaders that live like Rock Stars. I’m learning a lot by following you all. Keep on these cults and bring them down. I can’t imagine going through what these ex members have gone through. Best Wishes! 🌺

      I don't understand why they are tax exempt as they call themselves an organization and not a church. I know of no charities they donate to.

    • @janetr1633
      @janetr1633 6 лет назад

      firstsando .... They fought hard to get their organization classified as a “church” in order to get the tax exempt status. It happened after the death of L. Ron Hubbard. Probably a better exclamation can be given besides mine but through watching Leah and Mike, I remember the clip of them celebrating the exemption status. I doubt they give to charities either but they are building a massive empire due to having this status. Not sure if that helped but if you google it, you can get greater details.

    • @janetr1633
      @janetr1633 6 лет назад +2

      firstsando ... I personally think of this as a cult instead of a church. Just finished (and passed along) a book written by the niece of the now leader. Her name is Jenna Miscavige. The book would break your heart. She was separated from her parents at a young age and worked side by side with other children at a ranch that she considered a work camp. Although I grew up in a traditional church, I’m intrigued at the horrible life these people lived. Only hearing their stories after they “escape” these cults. It’s so tragic. Reminds me a lot of North Korea where you’re unable to speak your thoughts, your food is rationed, separated from parents, chanting L. Ron Hubbard’s name. I mean the similarities are crazy. And there’s too many to name here. There is no such thing as free-will in Scientology. 🌺

    Fascinating 2 hour show. I grew up in it until age 17ish. It was just my mom that was into it. I can absolutely say that even from my memory, there was not one bit of hyperbole or misstatement in the show. Ironically, my mom named me medical advocate and indeed I had to tell the doctor "no blood transfusion" even though the doctor said she could die. I respected her beliefs but came into my own. One coincidental note: My attitude toward holidays is exactly as was described...I have no vested interest in any of them. Not to say I eschew them, but there's no enthusiasm. lol..and I left 45+ years ago. Excellent show!

She started taking us to Kingdom Hall, unbeknownst to my father. He caught me reading one of their generic looking publications & ended that right on the spot! 1975 has came & went & when I would talk Witness’s it seems that the younger ones had no idea about 1975, some denied it or minimized it to a few people who thought that destruction was about to come. Be not deceived, for many will come in my name......

    Excellent job Lloyd and Chris!! And Chris you are absolutely right-an A&E series about jws!!!! Can you both imagine the number of people that could wake up as a result-the families that you could save, the families you could reunite! Maybe a series like Leah and Mike in having a partner to work with Lloyd. Each week you could feature like 2 new stories of ex jw’s experiences. Maybe we could get a petition going! In the 3 short yrs since my husband, sons and I got out of the jw cult, I am still amazed that so many many people have no clue about the real story behind the jws! So much needs to be told, like you both said, we just scratched the surface! For example in this political climate, many people aren’t even aware that jws cannot vote!!! Thousands and thousands of adults who qualify to give their voice and yet because a cult tells them otherwise, they are forbidden to exercise their RIGHTS. A DISGRACE! Totally dishonors the women, and minorities who cleared the path, who gave their lives so that we could participate. So glad we woke up! Thank you guys!!! Awesome!

Particularly, those that shared their stories of sexual and domestic abuse. I was really shocked and horrified by a lot of what was revealed. Like the series in general, I think Leah and Mike did a great job of making sure the focus was on those sharing their stories, and I also appreciate that they emphasize that an organization's unusual beliefs aren't a problem necessarily (all religions have beliefs others would call bizarre), but it's the behavior of an organization that matters.

    Isn't one of the problems of exposing religions/cults that they will actually cause them to grow or at least make the believers even more fervent believers because they will be told that these shows are now a proof that they are under persecution because only truth is attacked?
    I know it is not truth but from my years around religion and studying it and being a believer i know that is how my train of thought would be.

      Both Scientology and the JWs are well enough known already for extra publicity not to help them.
      Yes, both use the persecution claim as part of their theology. They would do that anyway, it's part of cultism to have clearly defined enemies.
      The inconvenient truth is some fanatics will never leave cults no matter what. There will always be Flat Earthers, it's part of being human for some of us to be crazy. We are reasonably convinced however that we are rescuing a lot more people than are being confirmed in their paranoia.

    Lloyd Evans around timestamp 2:00: "This exposure has never happened happened before / is the big exposure we ever had" ( I am paraphrasing). There have been multiple documentaries, witness interviews, and exposure of abuse and the practice of shunning all over European TV in the last decades. A quick Google search came up with a dozen high-production value docus in German TV alone, some are available here on RUclips or TV media players. (links below). There are British docus, French ones, Dutch ones....etc. Lloyd's statement gives me the impression that the TV audience finally gets an insight into this particular cult thanks to Leah Rimini. I don't know how I have to take that but I find it a bit - irritating. It may be true for the American audience, I can't tell - but there are many producers and ex-Witnesses who went very bravely public on TV before this show. That whole disfellowship and shunning of your friends and family by this religion is just bizarre and awful. I can’t believe when you went to straighten up your parents yard Lloyd, your parents just drove around the neighborhood until you were gone and don’t know their grandkids. That just breaks my heart. I just can’t believe a so called religion would do that and still consider that Christ like or Jehovah. Watching that sermon about dis fellowship by one of the governing body leaders just made me sick to my stomach. And Stephen Lett’s sermon “tickle your ears and no one loves you” Marshall Applewhite esque sermon downright scared and creeped me out.
    I still get chills when I see it on my Instagram profile where I posted it as “the creepiest sermon and preacher I have ever seen” especially the “tickle your ears” that not only made me laugh but it scared me as well as “no one loves you”. Those 2 sentences just scared me worse than any horror film villain.

      Random Person the analogy of the GB and the wizard of Oz is quite interesting. The great Oz is exactly the projection they have worked so hard on perfecting. It is so awesome that Leah and Mike are pulling the curtain away to reveal the truth about those creepy men. It’s ALL been smoke and mirrors and it’s so sad that so many never find their way out of the mental maze they are trapped in.

    Hi Chris
    Always enjoy watching your videos.
    Haven't seen Leah's show yet, only watched the My Scientology documentary and other interviews on RUclips.
    What I want to say is even with out the religious elements, there are groups of people out there who run organisations along cult lines.
    As a youngster I got involved with a power mad couple who ran an organisation that was concerned with saving the planet. Little did I know before me and my partner who came along while they still trying to convince me to leave home and live in one of their properties, there had been 3 other young adults who while living in the life they offered in their home had gotten so low that each of them had committed suicide. And I can quite see how that would have happened. Although the fundamental issue they represented is valid and really important, the way they seduced young people and once they had them cut off from family and friends then turned on them and made them feel so sad and upset, it was criminal. They used and abused people until the person was so depressed and felt over whelmingly helpless that they took their own life is despicable. We made a middle of the night escape to get away from them and managed to stay away.
    About 20 years later I bumped into the wife quite by accident and she started to try and pull the same nonsense tricks on me and I thought no way mate, through my young adult years you stole away my right to have any fun with my peers, their rules were so strict that they authorised which contraception we could use, I don't have any photos of those years because of them. Thank goodness my then partner and me found each other as otherwise I'm pretty sure they would have been capable of driving each of us individually over the edge. So it's not just religion these types use, it's anything that pricks at a person's consciousness and makes them aware that the world is an unfair place. If you are reactive to that fact then you are a target because that makes you easy to control is what I'm guessing.

    I was born into it at 6 years old and I need blood at one time and my mom said no . I was told do as I say and or you can leave . So I stayed until I was in my 20,s then when they realized I didn’t want there church that’s when I went through hell . My mom said if you don’t want my church you don’t have a mom then . So I had to decide. Moved out and was on my own so I adopted my own family .
