Correction: For the RG353M/RG405M comparison chart, I forgot to update the RG405M's name on the right side. Sorry about that! Left is RG353M, right is RG405M!
Just got me and my uncle a Miyoo mini plus, for me it was cheaper to buy the device with onion os and a 128gb sd card from a reseller rather than just buy the miyoo mini plus and a 128gb sd card separately, which worked out well enough for me as it saved me the trouble of doing it myself. And we both love our devices and have been having lots of fun with them the past couple of days.
My ladder would be RG35XX/RK2023 for a cheaper choice and RP3+/FLIP for more expensive "optimal" device. I feel like RG405 button issues, low res screen, high price kind of kill it despite having the best design.
Nice video. I own the Miyoo Mini Plus and the Steamdeck but have been thinking about expanding my collection. Mostly because I am apparently mentally ill. I agree with you on this list. I may get the flip if I can ever find it in stock.
Is the ayn odin pro good for running more ds games and switch games? Since I was hoping to get a handheld that could run more ds games and switch games mostly for Pokémon.
@@TehSquid-DS Pokemon games are no problem, but it won't be able to run Switch Pokemon games. Hell, even the Switch cannot run its Pokemon games smoothly. Just but a Switch (Lite/Oled) or a Steam Deck for that.
Same I love my odin. Let my cousin borrow it and play psp, gamecube and game pass games. he said he prefers it and that it gives a better experience over his retroid pocket 3+
i just purchased the anbernic rg35xx a week ago and been loving it so far. im buying it well aware of all the reviews said about it, but i think its the better choice for me than the miyoo mini plus. i've been thinking about something that can run ps2 and psp for my next handheld.
3ds would be tough. N64 would be the upcoming $99 Retroid Pocket 2S. Then, RG405M and Retroid Pocket 3 Plus. But really none of these outside of the Steam Deck will do super good 3DS.
Good video but the ayn odin is definitely worth it over the rp3 in terms of price to performance. way more switch games work and basically every gamecube and ps2 game run full speed at at least 480p, and many run at 720p fully playable. the rp3 can get some gamecube and ps2 to playable and mostly full speed with a lot of tinkering, but the odin can play basically everything much more consistently and with better performance
@@mokeymok958 thank you I've been debating on Wich one to buy so I guess I know the one. Another question though how much does shipping typically cost to buy it directly from ayn
Ok are you talking about the lite and do you think there are any handhelds make a little bit more expensive that run a windows OS because I heard that you have pay for a lot of emulators for the Odin lite cuz it’s all android
Great video for people looking into getting on retrohandhelds, btw you did put the RG353m twice on screen on the comparison that was 405m vs 353m. Many thanks and looking forward to more videos from you.
Just one thing, the powkiddy RGB20s is way better then RG35xx with same price and runs NDS, N64(some), PSP(Some) and my opinion is way better with 2analogues, Arkos, L3 + R3 and more, sound very good.
Wow, you're the uncommon and I will say, respectable youtuber that bothers to input USD. Some of the bigger name ones always say dollar dollar. Who knows what kind of dollars? 🙄 Suggested to them to say USD, they don't want. Anyway, gave a like and subscribe because you input USD and vocalised.
My personal thoughts on the KT R1 is it's too early to have any. RGC did a great video on it that exposed much is still being worked on and hardware is not finished. But for me personally, I don't think I'll be going anywhere near it. What don't you like about the 405M?
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds It's not so much that I don't like something about the RG405M but in comparison to the KTR1 screen, battery, G99, 8GB RAM - hardware package overall. But what I read and heard so far the performance difference doesn't matter too too much if it doesn't enable one to play GC without restraints. The higher resolution screen of the KTR1 sure would be nice in the 405 tho. On the other hand the build quality of the 405 is exceptional. And the button placement for home/select ect. are looking annoying as hell on the KTR1. I'm a little split is what I'm saying I guess.
Pretty fair criticism, agreed on the screen, a higher resolution screen on the 405M would be perfection. I have a video going up in the morning that helps remove the over sharpening and sets the hz back to 60, which helps quite a bit, but yeah I wish the screen was better.

I have an odin pro and I'm so happy with it, it might not be as portable and powerful as others but still, it's my favorite device so far.

I'd pay extra for a steam deck slim
Very helpful, thank you!
Does the retroid pocket 3+ have stacked shoulder buttons?
It does, yes.
I have a question, which is the best one for $200 that plays 3ds and n64 good?

Where can I buy the grip/case for Anbernic rg353m?
perfect device for me wold be a fusion between the rp3+ and an ayn odin/ odin lite but with better sticks than both
RP3+ Metal Edition? They come with hall sticks

smaller the better..I plan to get a ps vita or a anbernic or powkiddy...
And the gpds? Are they worse?
Better but they cost way more

Thoughts on KTR1. Just bought the RG405M and experiencing a little buyers remorse.

I prefer the D-Pad on top and in line with the action buttons.
Otherwise I'd go with a 405m now
Why tho? Why don't you like it anymore? I'm thinking about buying the 405m or the Pocket 3+ which is why I'm asking.
