    I like the low roof with pop top, but the price is unobtainium. I thought the Revel was too much and this is a lot more. Sticking with my truck and trailer which together were under $15k and I won’t cry if I pinstripe it. And I have 50 gallons of hot hot water to shower under. Well, one time, then I would have to dump and fill.

    I like the open interior. Looks well put together. Low profile might let one garage it and would have less problem driving in high cross winds than a high profile van. The pop top would be great esp in non-winter camping. We liked the pop top in our old Eurovan when the kids were little. For the list price of $190,000, i like our AWD Transit Storyteller Model LT better and it was purchased at a lower cost vs the Field.

      No problem with the rain and it’s fine for y’all people. When we had our pop top we’d just pop the top when we got to our destination and let it dry (assuming the rain had stopped).

    That would be a good rig to get you totally odd the beaten path. Would b a good size for me. I keep going between a flatbed 4Wheel camper or a van of this size.
    Being solo female, I like the idea of having access to the cab without having to go outside. I haven't found a truck camper where I can pass thru the truck tear slidding window. I've also thought of getting a canopy with pop-up tent that u access from inside & building it out. Having a full-size 4 door 4x4 allies me to remove the backseat to store more gear & supplies as well as adding an additional water tank & fridge freezer for longer adventures. I'd like to use Chevys elec truck
    I do not like the idea of the $200k price tag

    • @Weretherussos
      @Weretherussos  9 месяцев назад +2

      I also like the fact that all of the latches for the pop top are inside the camper and not outside which can be a pain when it's raining, etc.

    Field vs. STO...that is the question.

    • @Weretherussos
      @Weretherussos  9 месяцев назад +1

      That's very dependent on what you're looking for as those two are completely different beasts. STO is sold through dealers nationwide with one floor plan and multiple chassis' it can be built on and no options. Field Van is based and sold in Fresno, CA and Reno, NV. They can be completely custom built and even their "standard" floor plans can be modified with all different options. STO checks all of some people's boxes but for those who don't companies like Field Van will build something to suit you - but it will take time. That said, if you want a low roof or extended van, Field van would be the way to go since STO doesn't build on either.

    • @HawkeyeOnaMission

      @davidwollpert5276 9 месяцев назад

      @@Weretherussos I saw that at the end of your vid, after I made my comment. But thanks for the response! I really like the Transit platform, but the high roof seems like it might not be so great in strong crosswinds. So the mid height seems better in that regard, but lacks the higher roof, of course. But that pop top can give the best of Both worlds. A lower profile when driving, and all the height you need when you’re parked, plus second story sleeping. Win/win/win! Thanks for the nice vid. Just watched the one where you two stayed in it for 72 hours too. Always gets me into that wanderlust feeling when I watch these vids. You do a good job on your vids. But I do have to say that it’s nice when Kait is in them too. She brings a lighter, and slightly more cheerful tone. You two make a good team!

    • @Weretherussos
      @Weretherussos  9 месяцев назад +2

      I’d say I doubt you’d notice any difference with the wind. It’s not bad and once you’re used to driving the van you don’t notice unless you’re going through one of the plains states. The mid roof is great because you can get the pop top vs not on the high roof
