This helps me a lot. Mac mini is my first Mac OS computer and I was so confused what keyboard and mouse I can use before watching this video . Thanks mate
this is for the first set of keyboard and mouse how about I took my mini to another location and trying to pair another keyboard and mouse just don’t know how to make mini into pairing mode again without keyboard and mouse. please help , thanks.
The Mac mini should automatically try to detect them when you put the keyboard and mouse into pairing mode, because it will recognise that your other keyboard and mouse are no longer connected to it
@@ReviewMyPurchaseit did not do this for me. I did the same as the other poster, paired my keyboard and mouse at work with no problems, and then couldn’t connect my devices at home without connecting a wired mouse and keyboard first and go to the settings.
This is why I bought a cheap USB mouse and keyboard a few years ago. Each one was around $6 on Amazon and they both have came in very handy in these situations.
That’s definitely another way around it, I’m a bit of a minimalist so didn’t want to buy extra tech especially if it’s only for a one time use. Also, I was too excited getting the new Mac mini and didn’t want to wait until the next day to get a cheap wired keyboard and mouse to use it (the Mac mini was delivered at night when stores were closed). I’d assume most people would be the same
3:35 i feel assured if i can see mouse and keyboard if have ever powered off and back on the next day. To assure reconnection, do we need to go to settings and tell Mac that is the default keyboard and mouse?
No you don’t need to set it as default keyboard and mouse, as long as the Bluetooth on the Mac mini is on and the keyboard and mouse Bluetooth is on and set to the same Bluetooth connection, then it will automatically reconnect the next day
I just got a Mac Mini and never was able to get these screens for my logitche mouse or keyboard. The mouse was wired and worked no problem. However, for the keyboard it was not working, I tried hitting the power button 3 times and no luck. I couldn't get past trying to connect to wifi or setup an account without the keyboard. What I ended up doing was going to Accessibility options, and selecting the (visually impaired one?) idk one of the accessibility options that got the onscreen keyboard to pop up so I could type by clicking. Once I got in to the main screen I was able to connect my keyboard. Hope this helps if this video doesn't solve your problem like it couldn't mine!
I want to buy the Mac Mini M4 and one of my doubts was exactly which accessories (mouse and keyboard) to buy that would not have any incompatibility issues with Apple. Because Apple's keyboard/mouse are very expensive! Thanks for the video.
I managed to connect it without doing this but everytime I reset my Mac mini - it does not recognise my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse until I get onto my desktop screen and then it’s fine again, any ideas?
Im not too sure, i noticed it can take a few seconds sometimes for it to detect the keyboard and mouse. Try updating your OS to the latest MacOS version and see if that works. If that doesn’t work, you could try turning off FileVault, see if that works. There’s a reddit thread here where someone says to try that: www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/rfckz5/mac_bluetooth_keyboard_doesnt_auto_connect_at/ If neither of those work, you could report the issue to Apple and they should be able to run diagnostics for you to try to fix it. I hope that helps!
If your keyboard/mouse have USB C dongles, you just have to plug it into the Mac mini and it should connect to them. If you have USB A dongles, then you’ll have to get a USB A to USB C adaptor or a dock station with USB A ports too, so you can connect it to the Mac mini
Really good point Rohit, your comment got me thinking, so I tried setting up my bluetooth keyboard and mouse to the Mac mini completely from scratch without any wires and I found an easier way to do it! Here's the link to the video (its the most recent upload on my channel): ruclips.net/video/ZTY40XB91dA/видео.html I hope that helps :)
Yes you can if you have a keyboard and mouse with USB C dongles, you just need to plug them into the Mac mini USB C ports and it should work. If you have a keyboard and mouse with USB A dongles then you’ll need to get USB A to USB C adaptors, because the Mac mini m4 doesn’t have USB A ports
Thank you for this information, I was pulling my hair out trying to set up my new Mac, it looks like the Apple tech support dont even know about this as they are telling me to buy adapters or new keyboards and mice that I can plug in.
Yes, but from your comment and another persons comment, I realised not everyone will have a cable for the mouse, so I made this video which shows how to set up both the bluetooth keyboard and mouse completely wire free using an easier approach (its the most recent upload on my channel): ruclips.net/video/ZTY40XB91dA/видео.html I hope that helps :)

Are you crazy. I can't understand anything with the Asian voice competing with yours. Just when you were pushing the certain key to pair everything went off the hook. Unbelievable
Unfortunately there was no way to reduce the volume of the Mac Mini because there was no way to control the volume without a keyboard or mouse being connected while I was doing it. I wanted to show people how the actual experience is. This is one of my first videos so thank you for the feedback, I’ll keep it in mind and edit so the volume is lower and my voice is hearable in future videos!

which mouse and keyboard are you using?
The keyboard is Logitech Ergo K860 and the mouse is the Logitech MX Vertical

but no USB-A, cheap USB mouse and keyboard won't work, you need adaptor / convertor
@@KenTeoCH Yeah but thats why I have a USB-C dongle that has multiple inputs.

So what about wireless keyboards and mice that use dongles to connect them? Stuffed I guess?
If your keyboard/mouse have USB C dongles, you just have to plug it into the Mac mini and it should connect to them.
If you have USB A dongles, then you’ll have to get a USB A to USB C adaptor or a dock station with USB A ports too, so you can connect it to the Mac mini

can we connect Logitech K240 keyboard and mouse? if yes then how?. THANKS
Yes, you need to get a USB C to USB A adaptor and put the receiver into the usb A side and put the usb c side into the Mac mini, then it should work
I made a video of how you would do it here just in case what I said wasn’t clear:

Wow I’m surprised they didn’t know, I’m glad you came across this and didn’t go the route of buying adaptors!
i am not surprised. Each person 's level of experience if topic not yet known, more relevant under a different guide, or from others.

Does not work with MX keyboard and MX mouse.
How to connect wired usb A keyboard and mouse for a first time user
If you have a keyboard and mouse with USB C connection ports, you just need to plug them into the Mac mini USB C ports and it should work.

@ReviewMyPurchase any Amazon link for cheap budget
@ReviewMyPurchase please make a video how to add usb A to mac mini m4 using like usbA to usb c converter
You should be able to find a cheap one on Amazon. Are you in the UK? I can take a look and send an Amazon link for one on the amazon UK website
