Comey discussed his new book, “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” and President Trump’s response to it. He addressed why he sees the Trump presidency as a "forest fire,” his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation and his controversial firing a year ago. The discussion also covered the Mueller investigation, Russian meddling in the 2016 election, and the legal challenges facing the Trump presidency.

I'm no FBI CIA nsa nor am I an EIEIO kinda person, but I think I can pretty much discern Jim's true reasoning for the "October Surprise" in 2016 election. Remember at the beginning of the interview when Jim said (paraphrasing) "I was expecting or hoping to do out my last 6 yrs or at least 4 of them". And also he was "rather surprised that Hillary really didn't have leadership qualities". So what's it to him to assess her presidential leadership skills? My thoughts exactly as I listened to this. He was a man for that specific moment in time, as painful as the result has been in the short and medium turn, in the long view he will be seen as a patriot by those who understand what he is saying and evaluate it in a neutral way. Too bad we can't see a hero when he/she are standing right before us.

Some FBI personnel "did not comply with existing policies, neglected to exercise appropriate diligence, or otherwise failed to meet the standard of conduct that the FBI expects of its employees - and that our country expects of the FBI," Director Christopher Wray said in a statement. "We are vested with significant authorities, and it is our obligation as public servants to ensure that these authorities are exercised with objectivity and integrity. Anything less falls short of the FBI's duty to the American people."
Attorney General William Barr also criticized the FBI, accusing the bureau of "gross abuses" and "intrusive techniques" in an interview with NBC News on Tuesday in which he also suggested the FBI may have investigated the Trump campaign in "bad faith."

I find myself really liking this man...and I think it's because he shows real integrity. His answers are spontaneous, his manner forthright. I don't know much about him and rarely follow US politics but Comey comes across as a decent, conscientious human being. It would be difficult to put Mr Trump in that category whose manner always seems to be uncomfortable and his responses contrived.
