I used to wear maxi coat in the (telling my age again)…mid 70s. Didn’t touch the ground, almost, but didn’t 😊. It’s was popular during that time. Nothing is new to me anymore.

I really like fashion and watching this channel, but I really think this should be a consideration when shopping for one of the trends mentioned:
The likelihood of feathers being ethically sourced as opposed to through horrific cruelty is pretty slim. I don't think many people are aware of that.

YES! I think a lot of people confuse fabrics like rayon for satin and they are actually very different right?

    • @Poppy-

@@Thestyleinsider. Rayon is artificial fibre made from wood or bamboo pulp and is more plush and less shiny than satin. They don't have the same feel. Satin feels colder to the touch, whereas rayon feels more cottony

Leonie you are 100% right about this! Most of these trends have been popular at some point the last few year and I got them all, satin, snakeskin, oversized blazers, over the knee boots… and I ended up not keeping most of these pieces! I am now trying to buy pieces that are more true to my personal style, that fit well and are better quality and made from natural fabrics! Going for a more sustainable approach and I love that this is the message you are sending with this video 😍

I COMPLETELY agree with you on almost all of your "trends to not wear", especially the nipple showing, and micro-minis, lol. I loved the power shoulder trend in the 80's and early 90's, in fact I've kept a few of my favorite blazers from that time period. I wondered if they would ever come back in style, and they have! I like shoulders slightly padded, because mine are narrow, but I agree with you about the super wide, aggressive shoulders: fine for the runway, but not real life

    Hi Leoni
Let's start with the Free the Nipples trend! It's totally ridiculous, I think designers are trying to make women look trashy! Ladies,xPlease don't show up at work with any version of that trend.
Everything else is a repeat of something I've worn before. I think too much snake can look cheesy. I agree with just about everything you said. However, I'm excited to wear a Longer Maxi again especially in brutal Chicago winters! I certainly won'😢t have it dragging the ground.

And especially in the fall, i am more in neutral super feminine and elegant phase. So definitely need bold hoops, to add to that look. I dont care for any power shoulders or super oversized. The more there is pushed agenda, to take our feminine energy, blur lines, i want opposite, elegant blouses, pleated skirts, even if it makes my hips bigger( i dont care😜) no micro shorts, at any age, above 5 , in my life. And no elegance in free nipples outfits. I like sexiness mixed with elegance.Have a blessed day🙏💗. .

I don't generally wear a bra But I also don't wear see through tops when I'm not wearing a bra. I did, one time, by accident, and the looks and "secret" comments I heard by others made me feel very embarrassed and very vulnerable. I felt more trashy than classy. There is a time and place for everything. Exposed nips even behind a mesh material is just simply not classy. I wish Hollywood and designers stopped exposing us. Why aren't men walking around with mesh short shorts and exposing themselves. Nope. Hard Pass!

I'd not wear satin in bottoms, since this material is so sensitiv and sitting on it makes it very fast look old and worn.

I am confused about the phrase "pull it off"...is it feeling confident in the clothing or is it about other people thinking you look bad in said clothing? ⭐️

VPN, is something my federal agency used to make it harder for hacking and provided higher security since we worked from home. I never thought to have one of my own. Looks like Micro shorts are just panties or bikini bottoms. Remember when Carrie on Sex and the City was asked to wear a panty and coat, but she ended up being roadkill on the runway. I agree with you strongly that only belong underneath a matching short dress (I wore what they called sizzler when I was a pre-teen). I like the maxi coat, ain't no wind going to blow up it and freeze my legs and it works very well for wearing with an evening gown. You just lift it when you are walking where it could be damaged or soiled by the ground. I been looking for one, second hand, basically in men section because there a better chance for a tall that would hit the floor with me. I have several types of thigh high boots and I just see them as an extra layer against the cold under garments because not sure at this age I would wear them any other way (shorts or miniskirts). I am not a fan of sock booties because I never found a pair that I actually liked on. Going braless with nips front and center was more during the hippy chic and afro (black power) halters everywhere (I did not wear them because I was self-conscious of my developing breast), my older sister embraced it. They can leave that on the runway for the poor models that have to walk with it just out there and now it on video for everyone one to see. In America there might be a chance of being arrested for indecent exposure if worn in the streets. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.

I agree with the nipple tops, it’s a hard no for me. The over the knee boots are a yes for me because I have thin ankles and calves and it covers that up with short skirts, I love love love the long coats. It’s probably gross because it’s skimming the ground, but I’m here for that look 1000%. Have been for hears now. The short shorts aren’t practical(imo) as well as the feathers and the sateen shirts separately or together. Love your content.🙌🏾

I laughed at the super long maxi coats. Imagine spending tons of money on a super long ( ivory colored) maxi coat then dragging it through the mud in the winter. Eeek. NOT! edited for additional comment. I do however, welcome the regular maxi coat. They are so warm.

I definitely agree with you and give the free the nipples a hard no. The floor-length code I do think is taking it just a little too far a few inches shorter would work much better. As for the snake print I can't see myself doing it had to tow but like you said accessorizing or perhaps a shell under a blazer. I think there's quite a few people that could pull off to toast make skin print. It's just not one of those things that you'd get your money's worth out of. As for the satin I agree the high-quality pieces might look nice but I think for me it's likely to be a pass. What colors, waistline / leg shape trousers will be in this season?
