I made a maxi denim skirt out of wide leg jeans in 1974! I lived in Toronto Ontario Canada and I had woman stop me on the street as to where I bought it!
@@Thestyleinsider. You will find this interesting. Last summer I made a similar maxi Jean skirt again out of jeans that had wide legs but they were too short ! History repeats itself. Lol
I love the cropped length. I've been cropping my tees to my preferred length. I've bought several cropped shirts this summer. I find the cropped length makes my 71 yr old stature a look of more leg length.
I feel like my love of slip-on sneakers has been validated because Sezane is currently offering some really beautiful ones. I have a bad back and love any shoes I don’t have to bend to put on. I also love cropped tops and jackets, I look drowned in long ones, being petite. Most “cropped” styles just cover my waistband, which is perfect, I don’t want to show much tummy skin at my age, 63. I just ordered a beautiful ecru knit long skirt and sweater set from Sezane, I can’t wait for the cooler weather to wear it. It’s a blend of wool and cotton, perfect my mild climate. No brand affiliation, just love Sezane. Thanks for your videos ❤
Great video. I love the mention of socks. I love socks and another thing I love to add in the Fall is I have some little lacey anklets that I also like to wear with loafers and balet flats. I also love the lady jackets or cardigans. It seems that I have an addition problem with them. Not sure if that's good or bad. I have a denim midi skirt but I have yet to get a denim Maxi skirt. I probably just need to go for it. Ty so much for your hard work on these videos.
In my area i have not seen anyone wearing ballet flats or Mary Janes. I keep waiting to notice thrm. Haha. Of course i live in the western suburbs of Boston, and so many women are still wearing super tight skinny jeans! And older ladies are sticking to their shapeless tunics and capris. I've been in shorts or maxi skirts/dresses all summer, and its almost time to bring out my wide leg or loose fit high waisted jeans again. Im 68 and I need foot support, and i wear a womens 11 1/2, so I'm mostly in sneakers. I have AF1 Nikes, Adidas, New Balance and Komfy Kush Vans (mostly unisex styles).
I love long-sleeve silk knit tees (or turtlenecks for high-neck sweaters) under sweaters in winter. They’re cooler and softer than wool, prevent skin irritation (even cashmere can irritate my hypersensitive skin) and keep the sweater cleaner longer. It’s a lot easier to toss a silk tee in the wash than to hand-wash a cashmere sweater that got sweaty.
I have one of those ‘special’ washing machines that only release one sock from every pair that you put in. Consequently I’m left with mostly odd socks - no problem, here in the U.K., who doesn’t wear socks to bed???? It’s the law in this country ….
I recently purchased the cropped navy striped button up from J.Crew. I absolutely love it. I will only wear it with high rise pants/skirts. I also have the striped lady jacket. It is so effortlessly chic. Great video.
The socks thing is a big no for me unless I am wearing sneakers. Love the jacket cardigan though. I put the shorts away, haul out the jeans, the jackets, shackets and warmer t-shirts and sweaters. I do love my V-neck pullovers for 3 seasons so it's time to get those out as well. Those make dressing simple for me and take the emphasis away from my short wide neck and big bust.
I kept my "some day" clothing, especially the wide leg dress pants. Wide leg = straight leg. I lost weight last year and now the all fit. I've no need to buy the loose wide leg pants, yea! Getting out my Mary Janes, they're back too!
What is the denim you’re wearing near the beginning of the video with the lady jacket? Looks thin - which is something I’m looking for - living in the south US I find wearing thicker denim restricting and too heavy.
The last one, lightweight long sleve knit top...I live in those 3/4 of the year. The ATM brand is nice. In the winter I wear it with with a white t-shirt underneath. It's kind of a preppy look. I have some oversize ones that I just tuck in the front of my jeans and some smaller sized too. I bought a purple one for summer to match a free people summer top that is full and hangs down longer than the knit top so it's a "look". They're super comfortable and keep my body just the right temperature for Seattle WA area. But without a top underneath, they're too plain for my taste. Thanks for sharing, Leona.
Hi loved your version of the items we need ❤ hope things are going well for you & yours🙏 You always look so effortlessly stylish & put together. Loved the cream top ❤ have a wonderful day 💐🌺
I’m so happy the vests are back. I bought one last year but Fed Ex lost it and they were sold out after I realized so still looking…. Maybe you can add some to your new LTK account? ❤
Great video, I’m feeling inspired to try new outfits! I love the outfit from the ballet flat section at 9:01, do you have any info on where the photo is from? Thanks!
@@Thestyleinsider. Lol yes I have it in stone, it's such a great top isn't it?. And the ada dress in cream which I highly recommend. Do you have that? The weight of it makes it drop and drape so beautifully xx
Great tips. I hope your boyfriend is recovering from his surgery. Also, I'm happy you haven't changed your hair (the new color is nice😊). Your hair is your signature, and it is beautiful, long, healthy, and abundant. Keep it!❤
Lots of great info in this video, thanks Leonie! I’ll wear socks any chance I can get! I’ve been loving the Aussie footwear brand Rollie, their weekender trainers are magnificent, lightweight and colourful. 😎
Awful moment last week ...... My great niece found out that I still have some original 80's gear (including Laura Ashley). Up into the chest and wardrobe in the attic ..... We carried the lot down and she was very thrilled to find out they were size 8. That's where the problem lies ..... She's a size 8 ..... A modern size 8. The clothes were quite literally four sizes too small. We checked measurements ..... Yep, a modern size 8 is seriously much bigger than an 80's size 8. She did take one dress for her best friend who it fit .... She's a modern Size 2. If you decide to buy anything vintage ask for measurements!! I have two denim shirt dresses ..... And live in denim skirts like other women wear jeans ..... Absolutely love them.
Love all, especially cropped shirts and tops. Jeans i love many, but mostly baggy or wide leg ones. Now denim skirt i bought one from Zara, and no its not good quality, the worn out places, looks like will get holes, and it keeps going up, its just not a good quality. But lucky me, i stumbled up, on resale site, on new Maison Margiela one, and i bid and got for fraction of original price. Cant wait to receive it, Margiela is my favorite jeans brand. Its not cheap, but boy they know how to make those denim fit perfectly😜🙌 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
It been a scorcher here like in the 110F +, just miserable but we going to have a few cooler days just in the mid 80s so that going to be considered a relief but it going to get back very hot within a week. I have my old sneakers and they seem to work still by what you are showing here because they old school runners and high top. I do like crop tops but the look is kind of questionable on me because I do have a large chest. I one of your previous videos you did address that problem for us. I just love maxi skirts but shockingly I have not worn any because my existence has just been on task and it hard to wear them safely when your hands are always full. I will try to wear one tomorrow on Sunday and try to have a me day. The low heel shoes were called kitty heels here in America and I have some and also slip on flats (ballet slippers) but most of my shoes are high heels because that what I wore all the time. The free closet workbook has us requesting access, so hope this is working okay because I did. I am catching up by binge watching videos because I have been having taking care of my mother issues and been offline since I basically use my laptop only for viewing on social media and I been on location with her (laptop at home). I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
