A bit unsure about dying not natural fibres. I don't think they adsorbe the dye very well. Normally dying is for natural fibres only. You can cut a small sample of the fibre and try it out first. I don't think it'll be very noticeable 😅
You just have to use dye created for synthetics versus natural fibres. That said, I'm not sure how that faux fur will react but it would be an interesting experiment.
Hi Trinny, love your content, but if you try and dye that faux fur you'll need so many packets of dye for synthetics and you'll use an appalling amount of water trying to rinse it, and in the end it will be uneven and you will have accidentally dyed half your kitchen navy. Total nightmare.
Don’t dye the yeti there’s a good chance the lining will come up a different colour and the fur colour will be patchy - I speak from bitter experience ❤
I’ve noticed that when you’re on the fence about an item, you’re not factoring enough how the item makes you feel. If it’s not a hell yes, then it can go
Agree! And that feeling - a desire for simpler? - grows a LOT as you age. At 67, am having a brutal cull, discovering most of it I couldn't care less about and don't wear. Nor do I want someone else with the horrid burden of clearing it out come the (hopefully years away!!) day!
I love the closet confessions. It’s my Saturday morning coffee treat. I sew most of my own clothes, and watching the way you style and talk about what is good and what s not is really inspirational to me. Although I’ve watched all the videos with sequins, I have a matte black sequin on chiffon piece of sequin fabric and although you have provided more options than I can count, I’m still stuck in a pit of indecision. I can’t figure out what to do with it. 😂. It sits on my shelf, glaring at me!
I love the yeti!!!....Dying the fur could be tricky because it's such a large piece...but if you're going to do it, make sure you get a synthetic dye for faux fur otherwise the colour won't take and soak the fur 1st in hot water for an hour then transfer it into the dye water, it should take better, be more even...Good luck!!! 😁🫣
I enjoy the closet confessions very much and I absolutely adore the majority of trinny’s wardrobe but I must say that I loved Molly’s dress in this CC. Could you tell me which brand it is?
A normal Dylon won’t work because it’s man made, You’ll need a synthetic dye - Amazon has them, then get a few packets of the same colour - it’s a heavy item. It will need to be kept warm / hot as you stir away for quite a while - do you have an outside space with a barbecue? If you had a huge pan of water which you could keep hot outside as you stir, that would be the best option. In the bath would be tricky to keep even temps for long enough ❤x
Yes, don't throw out the colour block scarf! Give it to me. I love a clear out/cull. I pack the bag up and then do a quick re-look in a week. Then it goes to charity. Always great content Trinny. Thank you.
biggest question: After a weight loss/gain: when is it safe to cull items that dont fit or tailor them? I would need at least 6-12 mos at the new weight before I start tossing or tailoring????????
i kept hearing about Vibrations of Manifestation by alex lane from my friends, and honestly, i thought it was just another trendy self-help book. but when they started landing jobs they thought were impossible and reconnecting with things they’re passionate about, i had to pay attention. it’s not just “be positive” stuff; it’s more about aligning with what you actually want in life. if you’re stuck or feeling off, maybe it’s the nudge you need-it’s worked for people around me.
Those shoes were terrible... Good choice getting rid of them...nooooo don't give that scarf away... Honestly I think you should wear that gold dress... It's incredible
you ever meet those people who just seem to attract the right stuff without even trying? i found out a bunch of my friends like that all read Vibrations of Manifestation by alex lane, and now i kinda get it. it’s not about wishful thinking-it’s about aligning your energy with what you really want and trusting the process. since reading it, they’re more grounded and attracting the right people and chances into their lives. if you’re feeling like things aren’t flowing right, this might be worth a look-you never know, it could help turn things around.
Your style is great, love so much of your wardrobe. Caveat - Cream wool skirt with the black stripe, very dated, way too LKB/Phase 8, frumpy. The shoes that you were wearing and debating were the only other items I thought were, again, frumpy and unstylish, there is no chic or joy in those two items., time to go. I have dyed a lot of clothes with the Dylon washing machine dyes. They only work well on natural fibres.
Trinny I bought that warehouses scarf for £60 on vinted because of your obsession and recommendations people were selling for that much and now you have get rid off it 😩😩😩
Resolve to wear that silver jacket more in 2025. Been a devotee for years and can’t recall ever seeing you wear such a delectable short jacket like this…
I don't think it makes sense for Trinny in particular to cull something she hasn't worn in 3 years. If you have so many clothes it's logic that each item gets less wear.
DNB could stand for DONATE not buy instead of just "do not buy." The world is in crisis--redirect the cost of a questionable purchase to relieve human suffering.
As someone whose wardrobe is 75% black, 24% neutrals and about 1% color, I chuckle at how Trinny has evolved from berating black and reciting a mantra of “joyful color!” to now wearing mostly black and neutrals herself. The fact is, bright color often looks cheap, while black is timeless, rich and sophisticated, and Trinny has realized that. 😊
i used to think books about manifestation were just fluff until my friend wouldn’t stop talking about Vibrations of Manifestation by alex lane. i thought it was gonna be one of those “just think positive” things, but it’s deeper than that-it’s about the energy you’re putting out and how it shapes what comes back. my friends who read it are legit more focused and are actually pulling in opportunities and relationships they’ve wanted for years. not saying it’s magic, but it’s clicked for a lot of people i know-might click for you too.
That was a disappointing video. I love your closet confessions but your two assistants are indecisive & it’s not fun to watch, there’s so much you could cull but don’t; the silver shoes, silver boots, yeti coat etc “why not make it fun” & do a live reel asking the audience yes or no? Personally I think re-visiting how much something costs makes it harder to part with… youtube is just about £ & ads are annoying. The question is why do you need to be paid by another source!?
Trinny, I know you are a huge fan of tailoring clothing and this has been a life-saver for a lot of clothing items. Do you do the same for shoes? I know for me, I often explore options at the cobbler. For example, I had a pair of boots that were too narrow, and they stretched out the leather. Or a tall boot that didn't fit in the calf, and the cobbler added an elastic.
Keep the block colour faux fur scarf!!! So lovely xx
The gold leaf dress is dreamy, wish it was mine !
A bit unsure about dying not natural fibres. I don't think they adsorbe the dye very well. Normally dying is for natural fibres only. You can cut a small sample of the fibre and try it out first. I don't think it'll be very noticeable 😅
There are dyes for synthetics which are very successful.
You just have to use dye created for synthetics versus natural fibres. That said, I'm not sure how that faux fur will react but it would be an interesting experiment.
It's great to see someone with an eclectic wardrobe like mine. I adore the jacket with the desigual type collar x
I really enjoyed this. The idea of having company while you assess your wardrobe is such fun. Those insane white shoes made me chuckle.
Hi Trinny, love your content, but if you try and dye that faux fur you'll need so many packets of dye for synthetics and you'll use an appalling amount of water trying to rinse it, and in the end it will be uneven and you will have accidentally dyed half your kitchen navy. Total nightmare.
Love, love, love culling closet confessions!!! ❤
Yes, the shoes were not good. Let go!
Don’t dye the yeti there’s a good chance the lining will come up a different colour and the fur colour will be patchy - I speak from bitter experience ❤
No don't get rid of the red multi fur scarf ❤
There are sooo many pairs of shoes that you have shown that I would cull!
I’ve noticed that when you’re on the fence about an item, you’re not factoring enough how the item makes you feel. If it’s not a hell yes, then it can go

The sound is a bit iffy on this vid
Trinity, Martha Stewart is 83.

Navy Bhutan jacket needs navy toggles 👌

Good to see I’m not the only silver shoe addict ❤

Think about drying, Trinny! I once did this - dyed the bath, dyed the ground as it drip-dried!
No to the black long square toe shoes, and no to dyeing the faux fur. You will rue the day. I think this is my 6th January cull! Xx
I want that gold leaf gilet! If the color is off on me I'll just die it 😅
I cringed when you got rid of the corduroy suit! Try it on before getting rid 😊
Came just at the right time! Guess what I’ll be doing next weekend! Thanks for the inspiration T.
I think all the Bhutan jackets would go well with cropped jeans and trainers.
exactly. seems like an obvious combo to me. I hope she does wear them. They're gorgeous.
Donate the faux fur cape! Imagine it on someone who could wear that color! Great show!
Love Yeti. Xxx 😊
Are the fluffies the white version of Carla R’s red ones? I kind of love them!
Yes, don't throw out the colour block scarf! Give it to me.
I love a clear out/cull. I pack the bag up and then do a quick re-look in a week. Then it goes to charity.
Always great content Trinny. Thank you.
PR for HM silver blazer is stunning
Sound was quite bad in places.

Use Rit dye it’s much better!
I could never be responsible for all this clothing and managing it. Trinny u know you will be adding to this closet in 2025!
You kept something that you said was FINE. You deserve to only wear things you LOVE ❤️ and feel fantastic in
Omg so many accessories for one
Hiya Trinny. Find a professional dyer to go over the pros and cons. If you go ahead take out the lining and do another. Good luck .xx
I own the yeti coat and I love it.
Faux fur thing needs to go - don’t try dyeing it just let it go!! Good decision re the shoes!😂
Martha Stewart isn’t 70….. she’s 83!!! X
It's very difficult, or impossible to dye synthetics.
FYI- Martha Stewart is 83, so you’ve got a long way to go😂
If you dye the Yeti do NOT put it in the dryer
Which shoes are you wearing for most of the video?
You can only dye natural fabrics ,not plastics polyester
Keep the shoesssss! They do NOT make you have old lady feet, they look great!
You have way to much anyway its crazy
Those shoes were terrible... Good choice getting rid of them...nooooo don't give that scarf away... Honestly I think you should wear that gold dress... It's incredible

❤
How do you keep moths away with an open wardrobe please?
Moths prefer dark spaces so keeping your clothes on an open rail is actually a good way to keep moths at bay!

Well , something you have not worn in the last 3 years and it has not sentimental value should go 😎
Well. In your opinion.
I hope you can resell your beautiful clothes or someone in your close group can wear.
Martha Stewart is 83 Trinny, so she has more than 9 years on you darling 😂
Merci, silver boots not for me they look, spacey
Ps… I think Trinny’s daughter (sorry I don’t want to misspell her name) is in massive trouble for wearing that silver jacket!!
Resolve to wear that silver jacket more in 2025. Been a devotee for years and can’t recall ever seeing you wear such a delectable short jacket like this…
I think it would look fabulous on Lyla. A bit too short on Trinny IMO.
Btw.. you are not 10 years younger than Martha.. she was born in '41!
I don't think it makes sense for Trinny in particular to cull something she hasn't worn in 3 years. If you have so many clothes it's logic that each item gets less wear.
Rather sell or give Mr Yetty away, it might look great on someone else without having to change a thing, or risk ruining it.
DNB could stand for DONATE not buy instead of just "do not buy." The world is in crisis--redirect the cost of a questionable purchase to relieve human suffering.
I don't even have 1 pair of silver shoes or boots. I do have a pair of sandals with a little shine.
Coupe you give us your accounts on Vestiaire and VINTED please? Would love top Check your fabulous pièces of clothing you’re selling ❤

Faux fir. NO, do not dye it. It will be uneven.

Oh god are you a hoarder
Collector.
Also it is part of her business
You couldnt possibly wear all of that.
Molly is not a good influence!!
Brothel creeper? Lol.
Do some research on the history of the name. Interesting.
That was a disappointing video. Listen to the brokegeneration by"'Emma Edwards" she will change the way you think about spending money .
Good luck
Peoples homes have burnt down, in LA, this is just totally pathetic.
What do you expect Trinny to do about it?
And what did you personally do about the fires?
Trinny, I know you are a huge fan of tailoring clothing and this has been a life-saver for a lot of clothing items. Do you do the same for shoes?
I know for me, I often explore options at the cobbler. For example, I had a pair of boots that were too narrow, and they stretched out the leather. Or a tall boot that didn't fit in the calf, and the cobbler added an elastic.
