is it me or is VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE really weird?
Harrelson was great as Carnage, but if it was R-rated, he would have been perfect.
Agreed

@@RayMcElroy50 facts
@@RayMcElroy50 More like blame Sony for the first Venom movie was supposed to be a r-rated movie but Sony was like naah we cant do that in case if Venom gonna crossover/meet in a Spiderman movie
Would it have been better as R-rated? Sure. But i still really loved this movie. Harrelson is such an under appreciated actor and so perfect for Cassidy.
Fun Fact:
He had an ear piece while filming so he could hear venoms lines in his head and properly react without others hearing it.
makes sense
In the original comics Venom and Eddie are indeed in pretty much a relationship. With Eddie calling Venom 'love' and 'Babe' quite a bit lol.
What! That's crazy 😂😂😂
I love that for them
@@rudikruger5501 yeah lol they actually have kids together, hell CARNAGE is one of their kids
@@lordiedams348 Ok that's crazy 😧

Hearing Carnage Scream in an XD theater was insane😂while there’s some obvious flaws in this rushed movie it’s still a fun one I always enjoy watching.
100%. The scene where he is on top of the church and says “let there be carnage” was insane…
Fun fact, Eddie and Venom in the comics actually have a thing. They often call each other "Love" and even had a kid i think
Cool check my fun fact: Did you know venom refers to the both of them as we/us
I know right
@@Turniplord3716 what else would you use when you're referring to yourself and another person
WHAT ACTUALLY??!?
@@real.pubgmobilemy fun fact makes no sense
My favorite part about Carnage is that, opposed to Eddie and Venom where Venom essentially becomes a suit for Eddie, Carnage and Cletus seem to sort of melt together into one being.
That's weird because I see it as the total opposite. Eddie and Venom become one, Eddie's morals rub off on Venom in the first film and so Venom will listen to Eddie and not eat heads indiscriminately. Hence the chickens and chocolate diet. Eddie and Venom become friends.
Cletus and Carnage are battling and that's their ultimate downfall. Neither have morals or empathy and both want to be top dog. Carnage won't listen to Cletus, in fact he does the direct opposite of what Cletus wants. They are really a terrible match even though they're both psychopaths
@Beth Cushway the annoying thing about that though is that in the comics cletus and carnage are such a perfect match that they become 1 inseparable being and refer to themselves as I instead of we, and that's one of the reasons carnage is so scary in the comics as you can't really separate them the way you can with other characters like venom
@@bethcushway458 That's not what makes him interesting though in the comics, it's the opposite. Venom and Eddie essentially work in tandem while Carnage is essentially an extension of Cletus' mind, and as such, Carnage is basically just Cletus talking through a monster suit.
@@juderichards7486 See, I don't even think it's that at all, I just think Cletus doesn't give a shit about acknowledging the other guy lol.
@@andytrevino4077 Carnage is a baby symbiote taking on Cletus's psychopathic characteristics. Carnage is so scary and dangerous because it's a superweapon in the hands of a toddler that's learning morals from a serial killer. Venom is an adult who probably listened to metal in high school and didn't click with a lot of people growing up.
I love Venom, too. I love how they made his character. He is absolutely adorable and terrifying at the same time.😁
I saw this in theaters in Carnage’s screams deadass shook the whole theater, you would’ve thought we were watching Jurassic Park from outside
Fun fact, i sat next to speakers in theater and i got 50% deaf on my left ear from this movie :D :D
It was definetely loud af in theaters, hahaha, I'm lucky I didn't get more hearing problems
If no one has explained yet, the “Lethal Protector” title that Venom was so set on comes from the first Venom comic mini-series, 1993’s Venom: Lethal Protector. Nice little throwback for the fans.
My biggest issue with this is why would Anne invite him to dinner just to tell him she was engaged? Lol that’s a totally unnecessary thing to do and could absolutely be misleading 😂
Love your reactions, btw! I’m new to this channel but the content has been pure gold 👌

Interesting! I guess the actual weird part of it is the fact that’s it’s an ex that’s she’s doing it with…with family or friends I totally see doing that to announce an engagement.
I can't be the only one who is dying to see him react to Deadpool 😍

You can totally hear the "Bane" coming out in Venom's voice. Tom Hardy is the man.
I was grinning ear to ear watching this movie. As a die hard Venom fan this was fantastic! Lots of the stuff that happens is straight from the comics; even the Venom eating Carnage bit.
The setup for Toxin is so good. I'm hoping they don't pull an Amazing Spider-Man and not finish the series.
@@quinnzelreign8775 I think a third will come. These movies are well received and do well at the box office. Plus it would be fun to see how they handle Toxin. Maybe Toxin sees Venom as the bad guy and tries to fight him

31:24 shows how much more efficient Carnage is, him opening his chest wide to let Venom's punch go to a waste was awesome.
Cletus wasn't completely accurate he was kind of weird, but Carnage was great in the books and cartoons he's basically a Slasher villain all he does is kill, so when does things like randomly picking up the Truck on bridge and throwing it off and stuff like that is pretty close, like at one point in Deadpool vs Carnage he just walks into a Diner and kills everyone inside for no reason other than that's what Carnage does.

@@samlung2724 in the movie yes
I would have personally gone for Cameron Monaghan, although that would require Carnage to be younger, way younger. Still, Woody had the acting chops and he is not new to playing a serial killer.
BTW, I am so happy you're doing these reactions Alex, great to see it. Still remember the old days of you starting with the reactions, happy to see you doing so well.
I saw this in cinemas when it released, and personally I loved it. I know it's not perfect, but it's enjoyable, in my opinion.
Same, good time.
I agree that the dynamic between Eddie and Venom is what makes this movie decent at best. If they hadn’t done so well with showing how that relationship had developed and how well of a match Eddie and Venom are then this movie would have no redeemable parts.
A bit of insight on the end credit scene. It is very important to remember that venom said the symbiotes have a hive mind. Meaning all symbiotes know the same experiences and have the same knowledge….I think that is all I can say until after no way home 😂
As always love the reactions and I AM SO READY FOR NO WAY HOME!!!
In my opinion, very fun movie, loved the fight scenes and Carnage's design! Great reaction! Can't wait t'ill next week!
I just wish it was rated R also just to hear Carnage laughing would have been awesome
Seeing the post credit scene in the theater was WILD I couldn’t stop gasping
The police guys eye is glowing cos he has carnage's son in him.. A new symbiote called Toxin. That's venoms grandson
Carnage needed to be R-rated. Everything after he gets out of prison should have been an escalation from that base point.
Yes. You'd think they'd be willing to do R rated CBM for characters that need it after the very very successful DP movies . All 3 proved R rated works if it fits the character
Im so unbearably ready to see him watch No Way Home
Yeah the dialogue is goofy in this movie, but it's just very fun and Andy Serkis does a great job in the direction of the movie.
I literally don't watch anybody else's movie reactions on RUclips more than yours! Super fuckin dope bro! Keep it goin!
Woody was perfect. The first time I saw him was in Natural Born Killers. The name speaks for itself.
I saw him in Cowboy Way first then White man Can't jump. Then NBK. I love woody
There's a very old insane asylum in Louisville KY . Usually they only have tours during the day but on Halloween they lock you in for the night. Didn't see any ghosts but the beautiful gothic architecture is worth the trip. It was a really fun date.
My only issue with this movie is that it's not rated R and that it's too short. Like, Carnage is the most savage character and they nerfed him hard. It was still enjoyable but could have been so much more.
After the multiple super successful DP movies you'd think the studios would not be scared to make an R rated CBM if the character benefits from it or is violent in the comics. All the DP movies and Logan shows it works when done right and it fits the character
I would say that Harellson is best known for his role on the sitcom "Cheers" originally, and the movies Natural Born Killers and White Men Can't Jump.
1:56 31:01 Ngl, sonic screams are such an underrated power tbh. I usually prefer stronger & more versatile powers (i.e. telepathy, telekinesis, chlorokinesis, cryokinesis, superspeed, etc), but it can acc be very interesting to watch characters w/ a sonic scream in fights, especially when they combine it w/ martial arts like Black Canary from DC lol.
I honestly don't think I could watch somebody get executed. I really can't believe they had public executions back in the day. I mean, it's so barbaric. They would make a whole day of it. They bring their kids, and they would all watch somebody be executed. Sick.
Carnage is my favorite comic book character ever. He’s kind of a goofball but in a really batshit crazy way. It honestly makes for an interesting character study in “what would happen if a murderous psychopath was given alien superpowers?” Complete and utter chaos that’s what. But it’s still interesting.
I have an Amalgam (DC and Marvel crossover) comic where Joker and Carnage meet and try to wreak havoc together but ultimately the friendship falls apart cuz they can’t agree on how to kill people 😂😂
Idk what Woody Harrelson is best known for but I remember him from the Hunger Games
I wasn’t a huge fan of how Carnage was a one and done villain. In the comics Cletus and Carnage have such a tight bond they’re literally blood bonded. They have the same goals and motivations. If I’m remembering right, they have a perfect symbiosis and that’s what makes them dangerous. There’s several runs where a fuck ton of Marvel heroes have to come together to stop Carnage because he’s fucking shit up so hard that no individual hero can take him.
“Why are your eyes glowing?” Because somehow Officer Patrick there now has a symbiote inside him known as Toxin. I’m interested to see how they go about doing the Venom vs Carnage storyline (which involves Toxin) without Carnage. Maybe it’ll be great, maybe it won’t, only time will tell
While this movie did have its issues, it was pretty cool and fun
No Way Home next week baby! I’m so excited!
Gotta love how bad the writing is. Venom and Eddie can share thoughts but when Venom is LITERALLY painting out a crime scene for Eddie.. Eddie is like "Doy! Is dat a twee?"
Almost as if was for comedy’s sake, eh?
“Like Eddie and Venom are a couple”
Who’s gonna tell him( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Honestly you just can’t hate venom he’s so funny and at times sweet lol
You should watch Legend, is a movie about an English mob, and Tom Hardy made the main character and his twin brother, OMG I don't know why he didn't get nominated for that role, amazing movie
If you didn't realize Shriek was Tia Dalma in Pirates of the Caribbean.
I saw that you did men in black. You really need to do 2 and 3! They really go full circle and tie them all together very well.
Woody Harrelson and Tom Hardy made the movie. (Tom Hardy also voiced Venom) Woody does an excellent job playing a bad guy. They should have made it rated R honestly, it would have been better.
He is so me, no one knows what my favorite genre is 😂 0:16
Woody Harrelson plays an amazing Cletus. You should watch the 1995 spiderman animated series. It has the Carnage story. Its like Woody watched that and drew his inspiration from that, or he read the comics. Hopefully both.
i love how the movie implies that carnage and Kletis are bonded on a deeper level then eddie and venom with the transformations with eddie it looks like he wears venom as a suit mid transformation but with kletis it looks like carnage is an actual part of him it dosent look like he wears carnage but instead he becomes carnage
11:08 I remember seeing this in theaters and immediately taking this scene as a gigantic red flag. You can’t take an iconic, fan favorite character like Carnage and have him characterized in a crappy, 2 minute animated montage (in his own movie, no less!)
Carnage is supposed to be chaotic, unpredictable, and terrifying. Outside of the jailbreak scene, he didn’t check any of those boxes. Honestly such a shame, I was big hyped when this movie came out.
The viewpoint of anyone who puts the word “Big” in front of an emotion is immediately invalid. Sounds like a braindead gen z TikTok addict talking. Just say you were hyped. It means the exact same thing
@@simplyprism5854 okay boomer
The movie was good. Not a masterpiece but better than mid. Maybe a 7/10 and that is a really good score. Anyways the movie was fun, entertaining, great acting, great action scenes and all that. It should have been R rated though. You'd think after the major success of all 3 DP movies that they wouldn't be scared to have an R rated CBM if the character calls for it
@@XvKJP2015 I definitely don’t think it was “horrible”, but 7/10 is being too generous Imo.
I spent 7 years working in the state mental hospital, Women’s Forensic ward. When tours or visitors are allowed they are never allowed near women’s, the most dangerous.
I just love woody in any movie. He may play himself a lot but himself is a charasmic, charming, funny dude. Loved cowboy way and Kingpin
Let's be honest, both movies should have been R rated. I mean c'mon it's Venom for christ's sake.
Yup, the whole series is begging for that R rating, bad enough there’s no Spidey but the “villains” feel neutered
9.52 is so strange like, venom forces the handlebar movement but if that was based on real life physics, the motorcycle would have gone straight into the car. Countersteering is a thing and he would have gone in the other direction. In order to avoid that car you would have to push the right hand side handlebar forward effectively turning the wheel of the bike into the car in order to avoid the car and go around
In the comics, Peter Parker was the first to bond with Venom. Cletus in the comics was more psycho. There are quite a few more Symbiotes in the comics. There is also an Anti-Venom who's main target is destroying all Symbiotes. The first time I ever saw Woody was on Cheers. He's been in 106 acting jobs. Some of the ones I recommend are True Detective, Zombieland, Natural Born Killers(plays Cletus type character), White Men Can't Jump, 7 Psychopaths and No Country For Old Men. There are many many many more.
I'm glad that you enjoyed these movies. 💕
In the previous movie Eddie told Venom that he could eat bad guys, but then has completely refused to let him eat any bad guys. Bad Eddie, bad bad Eddie.

Woody Harrelson has been in a number of box office movies in the last few years. The most noteworthy being series like The Hunger Games, or Zombieland, the new Planet of the Apes, a number of other War themed movies. Things of that nature.

When Screech was shot in the face, the officer had shot her through her eye cavity. If you look at her eyes now, one of them is a different colour because it was damaged. She 'should be' blind in that eye.
36:53
I had to ask this to originally because I didn't understand what it meant. Apparently a Blue Venom got inside of the police officer which is the setup for some other movie down the road I guess, if it ever gets made? There are many, many different types of Venom, each different based on colour.
i think it's toxin that got inside the officer
As a person with symbiote I can confirm that this movie is very relatable.
There was a sort-of cameo by Stan Lee--but it's so fast it can be missed unless you put the film in slow motion. When Eddie is walking through Mrs Chen's store Venom's tentacles are messing with the shelves. They pass a small magazine rack and one of the magazines is facing backwards. Venom grabs the magazine and turns it around and replaces it on the rack--with Stan Lee's face now facing out of the magazine--but don't blink or you miss the scene.
Just to clear this up: Venom doesn’t just like the chickens. He (probably) likes Sunny and Cher, Sunny helped Cher show off her skills. From what I know they had a wonderful relationship.
@Alex Hefner Woody Harrelson when he was young was in a t.v series called "Cheers"
What was his characters name?

AVI ARAD ruined everything again
Now he's gonna ruin BORDERLANDS and KRAVEN THE HUNTER
The same way he ruined TASM2 and MORBIUS
TASM 1 was great. TASM 2 was bloated and convoluted with the plot but it was a fun, mindless, popcorn flick, super hero movie. The Acting, action, set pieces, CGI, comedy, the suit, the web swinging. All that was the goat in the TASM movies. I still love 1 and 2. AG has been my favorite since I saw the first one. Hope he gets his 3rd movie one day. He should be the Sony SM. Woodys best known tv role was on cheers, his best known movie role is probably natural born killers
Woody Harrelson is known for his role as a bartender on the 1982 sitcom Cheers.
Carnage is pure chaos, Venom is nice in this movie series, but he have had no problem ending anyone in front of him, but carnage take it to a whole other level, offspring's and such, would have no problem of ending everyone in a town, just to draw his target there and such things

Hey Alex, I know this was a long time coming, this journey has been incredible, but let's not delay any further....its time for *NO WAY HOME*!!!
pretty late but a big problem for me with carnage in this movie is that they treat him like any other symbiote when to get rid of him you have to get rid of Cletus as well. Carnage fused with cletus' blood why hes red and they formed perfect symbiosis which this movie does not acknowledge

I first saw Woody in Cheers, as a replacement character for Coach. He’s been so good in so many things, both serious and comedic for the last 30+ years. Lol you’re incredibly young then lol cause Woody has been around since the late 80’s early 90’s like in the TV series Cheers, White Men Can’t Jump, Indecent Proposal, Natural Born Killers are just a few of his earlier work. The biggest of course White Men Can’t Jump with Wesley Snipes. He’s played a lot of side character’s like this movie, but he has had a few main lead roles. He’s a good actor especially when he plays the bad guy or jerk, I think he does well in those roles.

I hate that Sony cared more about getting ticket sales. I imagine if they made this Rated R they would have gotta many more return viewers. Sadly it feels very much like Disney stuff where we cut away from the action and show you the aftermath for the implied violence instead actually showing you the gory stuff. Was very disrespectful to what Carnage is to have done it like this.
Some CB characters need the R rating. If their comics are dark, violent, bloody, and has some adult themes they shouldn't be scared to transfer that to the big screen. Logan and all the DP movies showed it can be super super successful if done right. IDC why they are scared to take the chance
If you watched this in theaters you would have felt Carnage’s roar shake your seat
After being stationed in Hawaii i agree. Dont make eye contact with wild chickens lol.
