Just picked up the game today. I remembered one of your complaints was about the blurry sprites, but you can actually turn off the sprite filtering in the individual games under Options > Video > Character Filter / UI Filter.
I'm happy that NIS continues to release their legacy games onto PC. Though it's still a little sad that they don't try to polish them up a bit, since a lot of them are worth it.
Want to pick this game up. Played Makai Kingdom back in the PS2 era. Story is GREAT! Shows you a typical day with Overlords, this literally opened up the Disgaea universe to what it is today. Gameplay was hard though, I remember it was a pain trying to level up characters. I do want to play the Petta story, but $60 is a bit much.
I just picked the physical copy of this for our Switch. Technically, I got it for my fiancee. We both love Disgaea but I don't know much about this title at all.
Hmmm, so they got their start on PlayStation but with this Prinny series they went with…Nintendo? Has anyone heard of this series getting a PlayStation release anytime soon? Would love to play these on my PlayStation.
You all may want to put an update on this and the 1st Prinny collection video. This one and 1st on the Switch only have Mono Audio for all the games included. The PC versions are fine though.
I want this because I've always heard good things about ZHP, but $60 seems steep for a pair of old games that they didn't do anything to. I'll wait for a price drop - great review tho!
You won't see a price drop, it will stay full price, go out of print, then go up and up and up as the years pass. Welcome to the world of obscure small print NIS games.
Nintendo's website says the game is $40 for both of them. At least that's the digital price. I'm not sure if the physical version is more expensive or if you're looking at some limited edition version, but you can get it for $20 less than what you said without having to wait. Also, the two games are being sold separately on PC, presumably for $20 each, so that's an even cheaper option if you only wanted ZHP.
@@nicklong27 thats why i buy these Prinny Collections and wont open them. Same with 2 sealed Danganronpa Trilogy. if I want to play them ill get digital on sale
Nice! I didn't start playing Mystery Dungeon style games until after the lifetime of the PSP, so I've been waiting for a ZHP re-release! It is odd that they're releasing these classics as single games in Japan, but bundles of 2 only in English.
People; know now jumping in that Makai Kingdom has a crap story, and had terrible dialog on PS2. If it hasn't been sprussed up then, unless you REALLY like Disgaea's combat, then give it a hard pass. And even if you do like Disgaea's gameplay, you're better off saving your money and just playing through one of those games again.

Still have my ps2 copy of Makai Kingdom, however, will be nice to have ZHP - portables are perfect for these types of games!
Already got mine pre-order can't wait

They're not on PSN?

60 is a bargain considering that's the equivalent of 18 a few months ago.

@@nicklong27 it will drop price but if you have that fomo mentality then sure pay full price lol.

i'm gonna wait until they remake them
Never got into Mystery Dungeon gameswith the one exception being ZHP.
Did you say "game crash?"
I don't understand why these collections aren't on ps4, they're ps2 games.
Not having modern options was a poor chocie
Too expensive for a bunch of old games.
