I'm a business owner, a property management owner and operator, and I do maintenance. Business Credit was priceless for me! Credit lord from start to finish, was 100 percent a teacher, a guide, and just an amazing helper! You got to talk to them!
Went from 10k to 24k in a matter of a few short minutes.
Thanks, Benji
I took your advice and stayed just below the 3x amount and got immediately approved! Thanks for the tip!!!
This advice was spot on. I have a great credit score but always looking to do what I can to keep it that way. Updated my income and assets and requested a change from 10K to 24K and instant online approval. I don't carry balances but even with my monthly spends that should do wonders to drop that utilization down.
Great video keep em coming, SCIENE!!!
Just increased my Simply Cash (Canada) card from $6K to $15K on Sept. 1, 2022. Immediately approved. Checked my credit score with Transunion (for the very first time) before requesting and score was excellent. Now I don't have to worry about the occasional large charge. Would not have tried if I hadn't seen your video.
I just did this on my Blue from American Express. My credit limit was $3500 and I increased it to 10000. And my approval was immediate. Thanks for the tip
Awesome video! Tried it on my Hilton Honors card and was approved for double the credit limit I had. Love it when I can decrease my credit utilization without a hard credit pull.
Great content as always. I walked upstairs to my computer and followed your steps. I was instantly approved from $2K to $6K. I even decided to upgrade my blue cash everyday to blue cash preferred.

Did you request $6k or was it a higher amount you requested?
I recently increased my Hilton Honors to 20k as well. I did exactly what you did with your wife's card being a bit cautious and SUCCESS!!!!! So glad I got into the AMEX system 👍🏽👍🏽
It worked! I just asked for double of my current credit limit and it was approved. Thanks!
Great video! I would urge people to be careful in applying for too many credit limit increases however, or if they are already approaching a large limit on any card due to the risk of getting a financial review! I actually made a video myself recently talking about just that and the risks of requesting one! Especially with American Express who seem like they are the most sensitive to this, especially with the horrid "check spending" button.
@@CheekyBird790 I completely agree! The manual increases are where things become a bit scary! Some people may just be impatient and what all the available credit given to them right away, instead of earning it slowly over time.
My blue cash preferred with from 4500 to 15000. Thanks for the guidance !!
I was at $3K on my AMEX Skymiles Gold Card. I got this card in April this year IIRC, got a x3 CLI in June I think to $3K, request again just now for $10K and was approved for the classic x3. Now at a $9K limit for this card which I got only 5 months ago at $1k. Thanks Ben

so u requested credit limit increase every 3 months?
I had a 6k limit day one for a year on the everyday card. (only card) Last week updated my income (slight increase) and checked spending power for a 2k purchase (did that purchase on CSP bonus) and a day later got an automatic credit limit increase to 7.5k
I had the same limit to start on mine (2nd card), after 6 months of using it heavily as my primary card and paying it frequently and statements in full they jumped me from 6,000-9,000$ on their behalf. Just recently doubled my salary and updated the info. Once 6 months from the 1st increase is up, I suspect I will be able to do a manual request from 9k will try to get approved for 20k. My credit should be at least 25 points higher than the open and 1st limit increase and somewhere around 780. So I'm confident I can squeeze a large bump out of them.
It worked! I got a 2.3x CL increase on my AmEx BCP just now. (New = Old x 2.3). Thank you!
I was able to do this with my 1st AmEx card. Started at $2k, went to $5k, then requested 3x to $15k and approved no issue.
Did report assets and income? Can you get an increase with the same income for 2 years?
@@shaligasuksomsong Just income. You probably could get an increase with the same income, just have to show consistent use. AmEx wants to be your only card so they really value you using them consistently.
@@stuckhere14 how much was your utilisation on your 2k and 5k limit cards? Did they automatically increase you to 5k or did you do that one yourself? How long did you have the card for before doing/getting both increases to 5k then to 15k?
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Appreciate the video this helped a lot !
Went from 1000 to 9k on the delta blue card the day after getting aproved for the delta gold biz card with a starting limit of 12.5k
Thank you so much !!!! Im so grateful.
Excellent video. Well done! 👏
CREDIT LORD TOTALLY ROCKS.
Great info, from someone currently working on their credit score. 😉
Great video. Can you do this for Citi? Chase at least allows credit changes over different cards but I don't think Citi allows that.
I’ve gotten credit limit increases on the same card without having to wait 6 months. I just use the card a lot and consistently and they keep approving it. That’s just my experience of course.
Same. I went from 2k to 4k then to 8k then 10k in like 3 months. 3 increases. Not big increases but increases nonetheless.
Are you asking? How often? Or are they just giving it to you? I have two other cards with $6 and $12k limits, and my BCE has a tiny 1k limit. I’ve been using and paying off the card constantly and I was denied any increase on Day 62 so not sure why this didn’t work for me at all. And wondering if I really have to wait 90 days again? Or should I just wait for them to offer it automatically?
@@sonictonic_ Amex just flat out gave me a huge credit limit on my
Hilton at 20k so I don’t know I do know they like to see high spending so guessing if you’re dropping 500+ a month they’ll take notice give it 3-6 months
@@thenextdouglassbubbletrous1062
Did Amex automatically give you the increases or did you requested the increase within that 3 months?
I did it first time around and only time from $4500 CL to 3x and I was instantly approved. Considering doing another CL increase request with my other AMEX, but most likely a conservative 2x…
This worked for me with my BCE card. I had a 2500 limit and got increased to 7500.
Besides a financial review, every card issuer usually has a max of credit for that card that they will allow anyway as well as a minimum
Thanks for this video! I tried this a year ago and they sent me the tax form so I’ll try it again knowing what I know now.
Good info. I’m new to the Amex ecosystem as of 1 week ago (approved for Platinum, HH Surpass @ $15K, & BCP @ $15K). I’m going to wait 6 months before requesting a CL.
UPDATE (6 Months Later): Amex approved a CLI for my BCP from $15K to $30K and I’ve since been approved for the Gold, Green, BCE @ $15.2K, and BB+ @ $5K. No financial review has been triggered, although I have no issues in providing Amex with confirmation of my salary.
Just tried to get my 10k to 20k and got a partial approval to 17.2k 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ I’ll take it.
Geat advice.
I’m not seeing the limit increase option when I click those tabs. I see all other tabs “edit home” “check spending power” etc but that tab is missing.
Mine says the same, so I think it has to do with the type of card
i have a total of $61,000 credit line from all 9 cards
I spent about $1,000-$1,500 a month, other expenses are EFT to prevent $5 or 3% fees...mostly rent and utilities
on average I spent about $15k-$20k on my credit cards annually
Amex in the uk 🇬🇧 are always generous with credit limits. As long as you’re spending and paying off enough turnover on the accounts to justify the increase, they’ll usually approve the requests. You want to also have no negative info on your credit report obvs.
The different credit card products in the uk 🇬🇧 also have varying maximum limits… most of them are £25k GBP like the Nectar card or the Cashback card. A few like the BA Premium Plus are £50k GBP (max limits without manual underwriting)
Yoooo this really worked went from 6k to 18k on my Marriot Bonvoy Brilliant card Thanks Benji!!!!
Thanks man I was able to increase my limit from 5000 to 15000
A couple of years ago I was approved for Macys store card. They increased it to 1500 & 2500. Then they kept sending me offers to upgrade to AMEx. Eventually, I accepted & requested 18K they approved me 9K. Win - this is a nice card to have…
Also the phone rep told me that they don’t do a hard pull for under 20K (not sure if that’s true but that’s what I was told)
On March 6th I got approved for the Amex blue cash preferred with only $1000 limit. I set two reminders on my phone. One for 60 days and the other for 6month. On the 61st day I applied for 3x and was approved for $3000. Yesterday I got the 6 month reminder which I had totally forgotten about. I applied for $9000 limit and was approved. I immediately set another 6 month reminder. I will try for 27,000 next lol. Fingers crossed.
@@CheekyBird790 you’re probably right. Moving from 1k to 27k in just a few steps is probably a little extreme. On the other hand a month and a half ago I got approved for an NY MCU credit card which stands for Municipal Credit Union here in NY for 25k right off the bat so taking a year to get 27k from Amex should be ok.
I’m soooo excited!!! 😆
Have a BCE with a mere 1k limit. Was putting around 800-1200 in spend on it and paying it off with 2 or so payments before the statement cycled, and paying off to zero when I got the bill. Tried this on Day 62 and was DENIED.
Thanks for posting information that can be helpful to others!
I know we like cash back, but creditors tend not to like cycling cards. I’ve been denied for that before.
Was stuck on 2k BCE for 5 yrs they never increased. Two weeks ago requested 3x and now have $6k. Will try again in February.
That's pretty impressive!
Whoa whoa…we all need an explanation for what happened at 3:10 😬
It's not his. He's a member since 2016 whereas the Member Since on the Centurion shown is 11, meaning 2011.
@@GeoSebastians 😁👍
Sometimes they just offer increases to customers. I've gotten two offers for limit increases on my card over the years and each time I was prompted by Amex to request anything up to a set amount that they were willing to give me.
What should you ask for that second request after 6 months? 2x ? Orrr?
Congrats and thanks for the tips. How is Amex with automatic increases? I've had my BCP card coming up on a year now. But I've been taking advantage of the intro 0% apr by paying off a balance over those 12 months. So im hoping after my balance is paid off and at least 12 months of on time payments to see a CL increase automatically.
Thanks brother, I went from $9500 to $20000!
Went from 2.5k to 6k, I appreciate you brother.
Geez, I can't believe it . My limit was $2,500 . I requested 7,000 and got it 👍. Thanks
Question does American Express (Charge Cards) credit limit apply towards your overall available credit limit
I didn’t ask for 3x but after having my AMEX everyday card for a year they did an auto credit limit increase and gave me 3x, so it does work even without asking you can get it.
Thanks.
I just added 10k to my limit on my honors card🏆🏆

There's is no credit limit increase option anymore but there's a way around that. Tap on the chat icon. After that it'll ask you for the reason you want to chat & it'll give you the option to increase your credit limit. Push that option & it'll put you into the menu to increase your credit limit. That's how I got to the credit limit increase menu, online. It appears that I didn't even chat with a real person.
I literally just did! Used the chat option in the app and went from $2000 my starting limit I got a year ago to now $5500 my new limit.
@@michaelduncan6769 Congratulations on your credit limit increase!
I just watched your video and decided to try for a limit increase on my blue cash everyday card. My current limit was 10k and I asked for another 10k and was approved with a new total limit of 20k 🤑🤑
Just recently got the 3x limit increase on my BCP, let’s go! Waited about 75 days and got instant approval. After 6 months, you think going for 15k is reasonable?
Need try this when I get home from work.

What is a good credit card to have for points?
I was approved for my 3x CLI on my Delta Gold, do you know if you can request a CLI on another credit card like my BCE card or do I need to wait 6 months to request that? Thank you!
As of November 19, 2022, there is no 60 days rule. I called Amex and it’s now a minimum of 90 days and all the way up to 180 days, depending on the specific person.
Anyone else not see the "credit increase" button when hitting on account services? I've seen it before on mine, but now it's not there...
yea i watched this video a while ago and it worked now went to do second card its not there
I thought I was going crazy! It’s but there!
it’s definitely not there, did you find it? i’ve looked everywhere. i’ve done it before
I did an increase on my delta platinum card 2X I got approved from $1,700 toooo $3,400 I’m happy with that increase I didn’t wanna risk doing the 3X. The credit shifu you’re amazing!!! Thank you (:

Anyone know if it’s better to do this over the phone rather than online?
I have been an Amex member for 11 years. Just got a new card in August, so it has been 61 days at least and I applied for an increase less than 3x my limit.......and got denied. My usage is in the 3% range so don't know the issue.
So if I request and get approved for a cli on one card should I wait to request a cli on a different card? I ask cuz I have 3 cards with relatively low limits
Just did it started at 2k tried 6k semi to 4K approved it’s blue cash everyday I rarely use now .
Will that work on UK version of Amex?
Is the $35,000 limit for personal and business cards together???
Hi, Ben! After successfully receiving a credit limit increase, how long should we wait before requesting another credit limit increase for the same card? Thanks!
6 months
Hi Ben I have a 3 cards with Amex 2 at a15k limit and one at 4K I would like to increase my 4K limit but I’m wondering if they will ask for my tax information is there a certain limit you can have with Amex ? Thank u
Does the 6 month rule apply to one card or to the Amex account in general. I increased the limit on my aspire a few weeks ago but also have a normal hilton amex and would like to increase the limit there as well. It‘s a true sockdrawer card and I never used it after getting the SUB. Do I have a shot at an increase with this card?
Have you tried it ? I'm in the same boat :/
@@CheekyBird790 thanks!
I just applied and got approved for a Amex delta gold and got a 20k limit. Should I still push for a credit limit increase?
What was the updated income?
my blue cash preferred card has a roman dude on it
Shifu, do U use the AAA card for hotel discounts or do you solely rely on CC points?
Sometimes I use AARP, but i rarely use money, most of the time just points or free nights
I have had amex for 4 month didn't think this would work since my over average card age is under 1 year 8 month.. I did it for 2 x as well to be safe went from 1 to 3. ... Thanks a lot 👍🏾
From 1 to 3 is 3x not 2x
This actually worked, I just requested a 2x increase just to be safe & I was instantly approved. I went from 10k to 20k, thanks for the great video
Thank you. You might be in need of similar help I can assure you they can handle it.

I don't understand... online I was chat and asked if I could... I thought I was at 6 months. The last phone representative said at 6 months, the customer has to ask for increase and then at 12 months it's Amex doing it. But the chat said I could still request increase now and will know in 7 days if I get it?? I thought it would be immediately
Down the road give us an update on the first application.
first increase was 3 x 2nd and 3rd time ask for 25k said cant approve at this time but can give increase credit to x do you accept yes or no
I don’t even have the tab on my blue preferred card. Is it because I was initially approved for 14k.
So apparently this doesn't work anymore if you have pay over time. I just tried to increase my limit and they declined me. I was told because I have pay over time on my Platinum, I can't get an increase.
It worked thanks 3x approved in seconds

It works! $25,000 that is doing wonders for my FICO scores.
Could I request a limit increase if a have a balance?
“SCIENCE!!!! 👏🏽”
My AMEX page doesn't have a credit increase button.
Yea I started with 1000 on my AMEX BCE and tried the 3x rule on the 61st day and didn't get it. But I tried a while later and I got 1800, and then a couple months after I tried again and it raised to 3600 so double but it does work
I too started with a BCE with just 1k CL… asked for 3k on Day 62 and was denied. How long did you wait before trying again and what did you ask for that time? This video and others say we have to wait 90 days now, do you think that’s not the case?
@@CheekyBird790 Thanks. Yeah all of my payments are perfectly on time and always have been but I am carrying a few balances at a higher than 30% which I know isn’t great. I did think though that by paying off the AMEX card constantly that the credit limit increase would solely be based on history with them, I guess they check all the other accounts as well, even though I already have an open account? To be honest one of the main reasons I want this credit line increase so much is because it is my lowest limit card, and I know it’s going to help my utilization a lot.
@@CheekyBird790 Thank you very much for the insight!
Amex has been generous with credit limit increase up to $50K. After that they need to make a hard pull. Has anybody had a different experience?
I will be back and like the video when I get a successful credit increase!

Did you request $20k to be safe? Or was it auto increase?
@@alternateuniverse2183 just to be safe. My income last year was lower than today from covid so I would’ve been screwed if I got the tax form lmao

Improve credit only use ! Other than that only borrow for assets . Home or land . Then let that buy your cars and toys luxury stuff
I seen Mark Plymale post this same exact video last week with a different twist but hey you have a huge following so it’s good that you put it out there to help the people so I respect it 💯
Nice, I haven't seen his video. But this is a reasonably well known thing on the credit card blogs, so makes sense other people have done it.
