I don’t need to read anything else. What you said is all facts. Our whole community is still feeling the effects of that whole era. It really 😔 All that potential gone.
Absolutely correct. I was born and raised in Harlem and when crack came out I saw whole intact families destroyed by this drug. This was a plant in the communities all over this nation. The hospitals just let people die. The police did nothing. You couldn't even report the burglaries, robberies, assault even deaths. I remember hearing my adult neighbors at their wits end because their child, spouse, family members were wrapped up in that drug and turning against them in every harmful way imaginable. I knew women who slept with their pocketbook under their body because their children and spouses would steal anything to go buy the drugs. I lived across the hall from a crack addict who slammed his door every 17 minutes as he bounded down the stairs to go buy some more. It was a living hell. I knew people who had good city, state and federal employment lost it all because they were addicted to crack. The black communities were blamed for the crack being sold and consumed, it was our fault, we brought this on ourselves according to white media with their BS studies, twisted broadcasting information as if we deserved it. But now that the opioid fentanyl, heroine and ketamine crisis has consumed the white communities It's a nationwide epidemic and we all need to do our part to help those that are addicted. Let's all carry Narcan just in case one of them overdoses. FYI, Narcan didn't just come on the scene, it was invented in 1961. Only select hospitals and doctors had access to it and they used it on who they wanted to use it on.
