It is not only is a Corvette engine but the L98 was installed in many model GM cars since it's inception such as Camaro & Firbird. The difference being in cam selection and rated HP.
The regulator I installed is not adjustable. I had replaced the plenum gaskets when I cleaned the fuel injectors last year. When I removed the plenum to replace regulator this time, I did not have to replace the gasket.
Check all of your vacuum hoses and replace as needed. I had my idle air control out and cleaned and replaced. Also, I had my Throttle Positioning Sensor professionally adjusted.
On these first generation of computer GM cars all you need is a ohms meter and find the value at idle you loosen your screws for your throttle position sensor you turn it either way to your get the ideal ohms reading at idle Titan screws all set save yourself lots of money. There's a poop load of videos on this hear RUclips on how to do it
@@MrCARWIZ it was the fuel pump and the sending unit wire connection showed signs it was melting to much resistance which my have fried the pump or the pump was frying sending unit. Fyi 1988 C4 Chevy dosint make the sending unit anymore. So I imagine it's a foreign knock off? (Made) probably why it cost 250.00 bucks!? Ugh still waiting on that part probably be in Monday! I'm looking at around 900.00 bucks all said and done! Grrrrrrrrr
Thanks for all the vids you also helped me a bit. Question I have a 86 and the idle rpms go to 5, 8, 6, 10 back to 6 basically idle goes everywhere could this be the idle air control valve? Thanks
How you doing Mr Brown I am still trying to figure it out I got a new tps that stopped the popping in the intake now I have rough idle and black smoke and code 34 I had wire s and plugs done like 3 months ago. Any other idea's.
I have a 89 Vette and I'm having a low idle misfire.. The thing is all cylinders are firing so I was thinking maybe it could be a clogged fuel injector or fuel pump? In neutral it revs fine but when it's in gear it bogs and misfires.. Any suggestions?
Pull off the EGR Valve and clean all of the carbon out of the cavity, and lube up the shaft that goes up and down. Check out my video 1992 Honda Accord Speed Sensor and EGR valve cleaning. Even though it is on a Honda, the cleaning concept is the same. Good luck.
I recommend a full ignition tune up, which includes replacing the distributor cap and rotor, and replacing all eight spark plugs. Be sure to make sure all plug wires are pushed on until they click on plugs and distributor cap.
That comes from years and years of owning and tuning Chevy small blocks. I wish I could help you because these cars are the most fun to drive when they are tuned properly.
Next time you make a video of a car make sure you but the correct picture up at the with the correct year your getting people to your videos just saying. Some people are Perfectionists .

You can get a dash cover for your cracked dash the cover just slides over your existing dash it’s $35-40 at rock auto or a corvette supply place.
Thank you for making these videos!
Sure thing man. A distributor rebuild for this car is coming in the near future.

You don’t have to take all of that off to get to the fuel regulator. Remove the bolts on top sides of plenum, and lift the back end up.
Thanks bro, you really helped me out!

The way my TPS was adjusted was from a guy at the Chevrolet dealership Service Department, and he used an OBD-1 sacnner.
Mines a money pit too! Having it taken in sounds like fuel delivery problem ugh. 1988
I have run into a problem recently that is eluding me. Once I figure it out, I will make a video of that also.

How come it says 86 corvette that's not a corvette engine.
That is a c4 engine

Rite on man.
Welcome to good old fashioned American engineering...Go very slow when working on these old Dinosaurs....
how can you tell?

I have done spark plugs and wires
Your car idles nice and even. Mine idles up and down...like shit
