I have a 1985 and i have power to everything but my fuel pump won’t engage even after replacing it, definitely electrical a wire coming out of the battery is burned and a relay near the left wheel is burned on the same pin you sent
I would change the battery cable first. There are a few wires that go from the + terminal to the bulkhead block. You didn't start the car or jump the + to the bulkhead connector. It is possible the + battery cable secondary wire is corroded.
Hi Matt, this is Laura and Dan here. We own a 1985 Corvette. Last Summer ('17} we discovered the signal lights do not function. We are as far as thinking its a relay switch. Upon our feeble attempts to find a good RUclips tutorial, we came across your channel. You seem very informed, and we were wondering if you could give us some clues as to where this is, we are guessing up in dash behind radio, but we need a little advice please if you could, thank you so much :}
Hey Mathew I'm bob I have a 85 Vette it was driveable it ran great no problems and all a sudden no start it's starts then 2sec it does I don't have any the equipment to test anything actually I have someone helping to have no Vette stabbotoshing my Vette so I m stuck please help me I'm lost it could be many things I m a little mechanical knowing but not HELP THANKS MRN
Was driving the 1998 Corvette, everything working great, and parked it for a couple weeks. When trying to restart the car, it wouldn't start and had no electrical power at all. Replaced the battery, still nothing. After closer inspection, found that two of the wires , a large one and a smaller one, connected together by an eyelet, going to the junction box behind the battery were grounded. We separated the wires from the eyelet and found that only the smaller one, with fusible link #16 was grounded. Both fusible links tested good. With both of the wires disconnected we still have power to both the large and the small red wires going to the alternator, but no power to any of the wires going to the starter. All of the fuses on the side of the passenger side dash tested good. Does anyone have an idea where Fusible link # 16 goes, and how to fix this problem? ANY help will be much appreciated.
@@MattShaughnessy6 Will do. Thanks. Is it very complicated tracing and replacing the fusible links across to the starter? Or should I bite the bullet and pay an electrical tech to do it?
very clear explanation man!, thanks for sharing this!...

What wire have you spliced into?
Smart guy.
Hello Matt. I am experiencing the same issue with my 1986 corvette. Do you think that my diagnosis will be similar to the one on the 85?
very well could be check all those fusible links and also check the connector at the fire wall and all your grounds.
