I really like your everymans approach to your content, you have realistic budgets.and goals that anyone can do. I like that you don't make me feel above or below you, you're just like us the viewer. Keep up the good work!
Thank you - I did this before but dang car is acting up again so I did as you you did in your video , feels good to do this stuff yourself with a little help from y'all
Hi Chris! I think we all love ALL Corvettes, no matter the year. But I too am really taken by the C4. I think its a combo of the body styling and I really love the clamshell front end because it shows so much more detail, plus it makes accessing the powerplant and more than half the car really easy. Looking forward to much more ‘vette content and for you to begin listing the C4 mods in your car description. Great job on the vids, too. 👍🏻😁🤛🏻
You mentioned a problem that I have. Engine does not return to idle, especially between shifts. I have replaced the idle air valve, no help. Cleaned the throttle body as well as I could with it still on the car. I took the little top cover off of the Throttle body and washed that out real good, no help. I am not getting a check engine light, well sometimes it will flash on, but goes off quickly. I do not recall seeing the MAF cleaner on the shelf, but I will give that a try. I have an 88 convertible with a 4+3 manual transmission. It is a great hiway car, but the weird idle problem and its propensity to bottom the exhaust system out is a problem with our poor city streets! Thanks for the video.Oh ont the idle air valve, I had to take the correct size (30 mm?) socket to the bench grinder to turn it into a thin walled socket. That actually worked rather well. A short 1/2 inch socket works better than a long barrel socket.
Put a Corsa exhaust on my 90 Vette, cleaned the intake, replaced the air filter with a K&N. Now need a new alternator & a harmonic balancer. Love the c-4.
Chris, I can't tell you how excited I am about the C4. I had just got mt first vetted this summer. Its a 90 triple black conv w 45k miles. Just love it! Had some thoughts about the build. Rather than that Borla exhaust, how about just a muffler delete? Mine sounded like a minivan so I had a local muffler shop get rid of the stock mufflers and just put some tips on it. Sounds awesome now. Cost about 300 total. Maybe a better option given your goal to fix and flip later. Also check out some of the free mods... cut out the grated area of that air filter cover, remove the Frisby, I would love to see you do something with the lighting, maybe an led upgrade. And last, what about some smoked out wrap specific to all the lights. My question on that is how do you get out the front fog lamps to wrap them? Heard you may need to take off the front bumper to get to them. Anyway thanks and I'm so excited for the next installment!
Good info - thanks. my MAF is malfunctioning (car runs with sensor disabled but not when enabled), and I'll pull it out and see if cleaning will fix or if it's totaled. $167 for a "new" one.
While you have the license plate off can you do a video about the spare? I’ve got a mess back there where the bolt rests behind the plate on my 89 and I’d like to see what it should really look like.
I just cleaned up mine. Brought it to a local tire shop after I removed all the dirt from the last 28 years. They remounted it and now it holds air. Not that I plan to use it. It’s all cleaned up
I like to run the engine while I spray the TB cleaner..it gets ride of th dirt and grime instead of keaving it in TB..Also I use a tooth brush for heavier grime. "85 vette owner
I’ve heard people make this argument many times but I’ve never seen proof that it happens. I use an oiled filter in my C5 and have never had an issue. If oiled properly it should not cause any issues.

I’ve got a plan for the exhaust. LEDs are definitely coming.

Where did you get your jacket supports
I did this today on my 85 and it was very hard to get started after. Does the solvent pool inside the throttle body when cleaning this way?
I have a 86 Corvette , how do you raise headlights to stay up all the time. Also mine does not have screw on top to manual open lights ?
Thanks

My fan constantly runs, is that normal?
Is that a roofing nail in the middle of your left rear tire?
Just checked. Just a rock. Thanks
Chriss one question: K&N filters use oil, this oil can affect the Maf sensor?
I’ve heard people make this argument many times but I’ve never seen proof that it happens. I use an oiled filter in my C5 and have never had an issue. If oiled properly it should not cause any issues.
@@mycorvettelife I think this is a good topic to clarify on the filter replacement video.
Chriss thank you for answer my quiestion.
Is she running smoother now?
Seems like it. Starts on a dime.
Hey I gotta code 33 and 36 new maf replaced already nun changed
Drive the car. It should reset.
Pull the ECM fuse for 15 seconds or more to clear codes.
When your ready, you can trade in the C 4 for a C 6
