Our journey begins with a ferry ride to Quadra Island, where we check into the Taku Resort. We spend the night in their A-line cabins, complete with fully-equipped kitchens and adorable Hudson Bay Company bedding. The resort offers a playground, water access for boats, a large camp kitchen area, and breathtaking views.
We immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the island, spotting bald eagles resting in the trees and embarking on scenic nature walks. In the evening, we enjoy a barbecue dinner before the next day’s adventure. We head out to see the island's lighthouse and walk on the rocky beach.
I dive into the local bookshop on Quadra Island - a true haven for book lovers - and grab some reading material for our trip home.
For lunch, we visit the Gladstone Brewing Company before heading to Campbell River for an adventurous walk to the nearby waterfalls. Here, we brave the massive suspension bridge and marvel at the cascading waters. We also visit the Campbell River Hydroelectric Centre because that is who Andrew is as a person.
