When parents change how the react, that’s when you can start to see the kids change. It was only when I changed what how I react did my son changed As always, thank you, you by far have the greatest techniques for us parents. Patience and consistency💙
Have you had any experience dealing with parents who have an authoritarian mindset, or is it only parents with a more permissive style of parenting that seek the kind of help you offer?
Sometimes it will be one parent is more authoritarian and the other more permissive, but most of the time most people are too permissive/indulgent with too low expectations.
When I did the 2nd version of the membership site I designed it with the assumption that most parents watching the courses would have ADHD themselves, so I wanted to make it as user-friendly as possible for them.
I’m in the exact situation you described newly dx after my kids were. Ryan’s parent training course has been life changing for us and the both my kids with ADHD. The tools he teaches are really practical but novel and different than what we learned in the past. The results for us were immediate and continually improving so has kept us motivated to continue. His podcast with Grow ADHD is a goldmine also.
I'm not clear about what your question is, but with any form of anxiety, what's most important is to not accommodate the anxiety by allowing the child to avoid anxiety-producing situations as that makes things worse.

Would you say that most of this information can apply to kids with comorbid dx of ADHD and Autism as well?
Yes, and it's even more critical for families of kids with ASD because they are at much higher risk for "failure to launch".
How much success have you had with parents that also have adhd ( mainly, newly dx say after their kids were) vs. parents who do not have adhd?
When I did the 2nd version of the membership site I designed it with the assumption that most parents watching the courses would have ADHD themselves, so I wanted to make it as user-friendly as possible for them.

Thank you so much!
What about adhd with severe social anxiety?
I'm not clear about what your question is, but with any form of anxiety, what's most important is to not accommodate the anxiety by allowing the child to avoid anxiety-producing situations as that makes things worse.
