Nice setup. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure you are going to have lots of fun setting up portable. As for the HWEF40 antenna, it's suppose to be resonant on 10, 15, 20 and 40 meters. I use a home brew one and no tuner needed on any of the four bands.
Another thing I do is use coax with only BNC's on both ends. For short runs, 25 feet or less, I use RG 174. On 20 and 40 meters the losses are acceptable. I like to carry light and only take what needed with me.
    Barry, KU3X/QRP

I have my coax set up with adapter for the interoperability, never know what I may need to connect to on field day!

Consider the Vanguard VEO Range T45.

I use the IC 705 with cage kit, T1 Elecraft tuner with velcro on top of the IC 705, rugged 8 inch tablet, HYENDFED QRP antenna, arborist throw line with weight, Hardened Power battery with solar charger built in, light weight 20 watt foldable solar panel, and SOTA fiberglass telescoping pole. That is the basic radio part. In addition, Wisport backpack with 3 liter water bladder, enough trail mix to keep going and basic emergency kit, emergency blanket, knife, lights and fire starter. Totally weight is 27lbs. I am curious, what is the total weight of your system and do you plan to hike SOTA with your setup?
