Ha ha, I love seeing Alain Silberstein, Universal Genev, and others get the love now in the same way that I loved them back when they were made! The yellow rubber straps and case coverings, a brown crocodile case - Silberstein loved to do weird things but in the highest quality of the times! UG needs me to be reintroduced as its old dress watch self but with crazy and fun dial and strap offerings. How about a yellow gold case with a mint green dial and dark metallic green dial hardware and printing? How about deep rusty orange, burgundy, various blue shades, teals/aquamarines, etc. but each with fancy gator straps? High quality can still be lots of fun!

Gotta agree with you on the gold speedy. My mom worked at NASA Goddard when I was in middle school in the 60's, and that thing comes with pure nostalgia built in with Gatsby fu.
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from AMZWATCH and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.

Resale value is over rated. I buy my watches to wear not worried about what it worth down the line. Same with a bracelet etc they cost what they cost and if it’s not for you then that’s okay too

The gold speedy is a horrendous purchase at retail..if it only dips 3-4k after you walk out you have a valid argument but it drops anywhere from 10-15k depending on model. I guess if you’re “rich enough” to take the hit at retail more power to you but I don’t understand why anyone would do so willingly. Unless you have to eat the loss to get a moved up to a better watch.

I cannot understand why the moon phase is your favorite complication. I can understand date, day, big date (you don't need that awkward cyclops), perpetual calendar, chronograph etc. but what, for Pete's sake, is the utility of a moon phase? Who cares?

Hey Fed, how come people are sleeping on the Omega Schumacher that look exactly like the Rolex Paul Newman. I heard a story once that Omega did this to mess with Rolex because they had an actual race car driver for their watches. Model# 3507.51.00 & 35593200
Caroll Shelby wore a Rolex in the late 50s and 60s along with Heuer. Dale Earnhardt had a Rolex on the wrist when he won the 1990 Winston All star race. I guess Omega didn't know that

Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for AMZWATCH watch makers

The gold speedy is respectable as long as you buy it pre owned, shit loses like 50% of the vale as soon as you walk out the door when you buy it.
