@@hugobloemers4425 Not sure why we consider these people Famous. Or why we expect them to be anything more then us. But Steve Here is just like us. A speaker and tech nerd (just like me). And there isn't much he can say. Also, having a 1/4 of a million followers isn't the win fall you think it is. These people spend a ton of time making videos, and RUclips just doesn't pay much.
...And in large part, this might of happened because of their RUclips presence, given that thieves can use our online presence to track us and know we're carrying valuables.
But, if anything does need to be said, buy insurance and practice basic security principles. Chances are, they targeted the event and not Jay specifically. This is the risk we take when we post our lives on the internet. :(
And yes, still a huge fan of Jay and Steve. Keep making videos guys. You inspire me with my own RUclips videos and to pursue this hobby further.

Jay, my deepest sympathies for the loss of your dog, that is never easy. Beyond sorry to hear about your losses and the robbery at gunpoint. As someone who has been robbed at gunpoint I know how scary that can be. But you are positive outlook is really an inspiration and I give you a lot of credit for that. These are dark times we are living in and we need voices like yours to remind us of the light.
First off, really sorry to hear about your dog. Loosing a pet is rough as I've lost a few in my day. Second, very sorry to hear about the stolen items and robbery. I've suffered severe losses too w/ large amounts $$$ of items stolen. I think your situation is rather unique in the sense that all this happened so close together in a short period of time. Two things, one hang in there and w/ the theft take inventory of what happened and learn from it. I know I did. gluck.
Holy crap. I'm sorry to hear about all this. (Sometimes bad things happen in threes. Thanks, universe!) Your sense of perspective so soon afterward is impressive.
Can feel ya. I lost my 25k Hifi system in the recent Brisbane floods. I had it at my sisters and didn’t insure my gear.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer the week before the floods and I’m all in caring for my dad right now so it didn’t really hurt as much to lose the gear. I can always buy it again.
Stay safe and keep your head up man. Life is so much more important than anything else. Keep doing what you do best and thank you for creating the content

Sorry to hear about your dad. I very much hope he has a good outcome if such is possible. I lost my dad to Cancer a few years ago and I know the sense of shock which follows diagnosis. Best wishes. I found music enormously helpful in getting through the day.

Sorry to hear of your experiences. The loss of your friend of 17 years is heart breaking. The loss is your equipment was shocking and disorienting. The mugging was even more traumatising. It's good to hear of the kindness you experienced. It's so good to hear that your friend was with you. You'll got through this together. Dear Jay, clearly this is a very hard time for you, I send you a lot of strength and take this bad situation as an opportunity, and do your best to overcome it. Sorry to hear about your dog, losing a friend is always hard. Regarding the things that got stolen, sometimes we are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and there's nothing we can do about it. As long as you have your health and are safe that's what matters the most, everything else can be bought back sooner or later.

Jay I am very sorry for your loss of your beautiful dog. And I am also very sorry to hear what happened to you. Nobody deserves that and you certainly did nothing to cause it. It's not "cringey" at all. It's the right thing to do and very important to do for those people capable to see past their own struggles and still act in a positive manner to help (a struggling) humanity in general. The way we interact with others has a compounding affect in how they treat people in their interactions. We affect each other, for better or worse. If we want a better world we have to start with ourselves so we can cause others to be at their best, rather than making them at their worst (far too common these days). We are all assholes when at our worst, so it makes perfect logical sense to try to make our interactions with others to have a positive influence.
Sorry to hear about your dog Jay. A close bond with pets can be as devastating as losing a human loved one.

Thank you for all this Jay. Your insight, depth and kindness are much appreciated right now. I lost my beloved dog (indeed, my brother and son) of 15 years two weeks ago. On top of other recent passings, I am in despair. Many years ago, I also had valuable things taken from my car and held up (at knife point in Amsterdam!) and know that feeling of violation. I already thought you were a neat guy but seeing your spirit, perseverance and wisdom has been profoundly comforting. And yeah, somehow the hi-fis are still comforting. I can disappear into whatever music takes me away. AND you're right. Kindness and goodness, even in all this awfulness, perseveres (Just like you!)❤

Hey Jay I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your companion of 17 years! There is no way of understanding the loss of a best friend, brother, child, dog unless you’ve been through it yourself! I have had the unhappy privilege (a few to many times) and a dog is often ones best companion/friend. To add insult to injury you were then robbed (your car) and then mugged (at gun point no less!). My sincere condolences! I pray the world will turn around and reward your perseverance, patience and positive attitude with love and abundance! May you have many happy memories of the good times you spent over 17 years with your fury companion! I’m certain that is what he would wish for you! Maybe you can get a good novel or action movie out of this to off set the monetary damage’s? In any case it is often said that “what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger”! I pray that at least in this case it proves to be true! My best wishes to you and your good friend Tujen! Better times are sure to follow!
Wow. I am sorry for your lost, loss and robbed. The worst and dark things happened and everytime there is light that lifted you up.
I understand how tragedy happened. My spouse just passed away a month ago alone while I was back in Singapore taking care of my dad. That feeling of loneliness and helplessness pulled you down. But remember that there is always lights that helps you up. Really thankful for those people who around you and seeing what true friendship is about.

That being said, attitude is everything in life and from thousands of miles away, behind a TV screen....it seems to me that with the positive attitude that you have, it won't take you long to get back up, dust yourself off, and come out stronger than you were before. Well thought out video. Great points. And kudos to you for doing your very best to turn this into not only a positive, but a teaching moment as well.
I feel your pain exactly my friend .I lost my my 15 yr old step son to a drowning in july and then in August had my 60 thousand $ work truck with well over 20 thousand $ of my tools that I make 100 % of my living with stolen .....gone ! Trying to hold down over head expenses insurance was at a bare minimum basically nothing which of course I completely regret at this moment. My family is destroyed and I have nothing to work with to take care of my family now ! Yeah life really sucks sometimes I really feel bad for you I feel your pain these people that are out destroying other people's lives really suck!

Wow! The phrase that you said in that video "it is not what happens to you, but what you make of it in that situation" was an aha moment for me. I'm 52 years old and I've also had my tragedies including loss of dogs and loved ones. It is very easy to go in that dark place, so I really appreciate you sharing your wisdom. At the end of the day $$ and all material things are of no relative value whatsoever. Even if one looses everything but oneself, then nothing is really lost. In life it's best not to form any attachments even to that which we are so very passionate about. And besides, if looked at from a higher perspective things don't happen to you but rather FOR you. Everything happens for a reason or else it surly wouldn't have happened. And here it seems however much it sucked at the time, these events happened to change your very outlook and perspective on life for the better. And there is very little that could be of more value than that.
