I've never really heard anyone talk about John Paul Jones from Zeppelin. Spotlight was always on Plant and Page. No one really ever talks about the bass player. Who would have thought he'd be back 30 years later with one of the best fuckin' bands/albums I've ever heard in my life?
the band has so much fun during their shows it really draws the crowds in. i got to see them at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. It was a religious experience. life altering!!!1
Alain plays multiple different parts throughout the song while singing including the one Josh plays. That said neither of them have it easy and I love Josh and his ability to play complex parts and sing at the same time on many of his songs but on this one Alain is definitely working harder
Probably the best rock drummer of the moment, certainly the best bass player alive, and maybe the best front man? I've only recently been listening to these guys but they certainly rock! And JPJ is about twice as old as the other guys!
@Trowh Yeah - Definitely an improvement on the wet dross that Plant is trotting out these days with Diana Krall. JPJ Just looks in his element every time I see him on stage with TCV. He's funny - Like the polite English village vicar who happens to be one of the mightiest and influential musicians in history. The sounds coming out of his bass are almost at odds with the guy you see on stage. Love the guy.
Josh Homme, you're the Elvis Presley of the 22nd century. And that's where I live for sure. I could write about this music for days. Great f***ing performance!
@iamtheindyman Nope, pause it at 0:22 and you'll see it has 10 strings (10 tuners atcually, I can't count the strings). Basically that means it is a 5 sting bass, but with all strings double, like a 12-string guitar.
There's more chemistry here, than between Walter White and Jesse Pinkman
The instrumental sounds better than the studio version! Amazing performance!
John's killer bass

Alan is a HERO, at 1'48 he is playing (guitar) the first riff and the second and rock the backing vocals... he is a Genius
it's so good to see john paul jones so happy :D
4:04 !!! Look at that beast, he makes it look like drumming to Gunman is a piece of cake!!!!
He's so awesome =D So is Josh and Jon ._.
Love em all.

1:56 to about 2:10... how does Alain play that solo whilst singing back vocals over the top of it. That's just insane. He's so under rated!
It's basically a loop of notes he's singing harmony over, like what singing Bass players do creating Melodic loop like lines to sing over.
It's impressive. But i think Josh's guitar rhythm part he's playing at that moment while singing is harder than that solo right there :D

cierto, hacer esa wea es ultra dificil
Top tier pros write and perform complicated sections... that's what makes these guys so great!!!
alain johannes + josh homme is awesome, 1:56 is pure magic

Good god man.....the force is strong with this band.
He is Alain Johannes, he's their touring guitarist. So just live stuff.
Yes,he's the boss here!!!
@iamtheindyman it's a 10 string! 5 double strings.
This is the best use of a disco beat ever. EVER!
When live versions are even better than the recorded one. What the f***?!
These guys are mind blowing - we need more!
Soooo.... they need to come to the U.S. For sure.
Probably the best rock drummer of the moment, certainly the best bass player alive, and maybe the best front man? I've only recently been listening to these guys but they certainly rock! And JPJ is about twice as old as the other guys!
The best music if their album...

That bouncing lightt-wah riff makes me wanna drive my truck onto roads I've never been before.

Seeing them for the 3rd time soon! Cannot fucking wait.
FRESH POTS!
See you in Amsterdam:)
Dave is a beast drummer! Is there ANYTHING he can't do?
Prolly prog music
@@poopydoody7618 Listen to his solo track Play, it's prog-ish
@PMagazineLoS For sure!
I gotta have that T-shirt ;O
the best modern rock that could be
hahaha look at JPJ at 3:11!!! jeez, what an amazing show.

I honestly wish there was an isolated bass version. I wonder what that 12 string sounds like. JPJ’s groove on the descending part is just so addicting
Try some of JPJ’s solo work such as Leafy Meadows. This is a 10-string by Manson in this video, but I think he has a 12-string too.
listen the bass
that's a pice of work on t.
And look the easy drum from Dave!!
Hope for a new album soon!!!.
John Paul Jones in the house!!!
5 stars
@yourmusicguru His name is Alain Johannes, he's worked with Josh in QOTSA
@manuss94 10 string bass. It's pretty much a 5 string bass except each string is paired with a string tuned one octave higher.
502 to 1 is a pretty good ratio in my book. TCV rules. Does anyone have news on a new album/EP?
@manuss94 yeah John Paul Jones plays bass in this band.
@PMagazineLoS I'm also going to Werchter, special for them! ^^
I cant ffing wait
@Trowh This band is what we've all been dien' for this last decade.
@BobbyRobby1000 These drummers may be able to play more, but Dave puts passion into it, that's why people love him.
make a new album!
@yowzahinmatrowzas Palladium Köln Germany - Dec 8th '09
