This is great, man. Everytime I see Tecmo Bowl stuff on youtube, it reminds me of being a kid and playing against my brother. Inevitably, a controller would get launched at the TV screen.
+Judah Soremy See, I'm from the old school.. this is what I believe. I'd rather play with 10 guys and get penalized play after play until we had to do something else rather than play with 11 when I know that right now that person is not a part of this team..
Some rooted fans there in Dallas, love the way they continue to cheer for Mike Singletary every time he intercepts their team and runs it back for a touchdown.
Props that you admitted using save states. I didn’t read that at first and was wondering how you knew where every pass being thrown, how you didn’t get tackled once and Dallas didn’t run once. LOL.
i like the TD pass on the first play. i remember the good ol' days when that used to be a safety. i think coach landry needs to make a few adjustments at halftime. probably bench danny white or at least run the ball once in a while.
Walter Payton always rocked in this game! When I played Chicago, I almost always ran the ball, especially because it seemed Jim McMahon loved to throw picks.
Funny, the amount of times I played this with friends I never knew the glitch at the start lol. I do remember cheating though changing computers playbooks to flea flickers to make them fumble most plays to get a lot of points.
You're talking about that pass play across the middle where the computer always moves your defender away from the X where the ball and Craig are headed. My favorite play from my favorite team!
I loved this game. I seem to remember scoring over 100 in a game, but not 77 in a half. This music brings back memories. I played original x-box after this, and I never found a fooball game I could play.
Any idea what the record is not tool-assisted? I've gotten 105-0 using NY a few times on the console with no save states or bugs. This is a fun vid btw nice job.
He's playing two players and knows where the ball is going every time. Running straight on kick-off and every play called by opponent is a pass, then always knowing where the pass is going are all indications that this individual has far too much time on his hands to cheat at TSB (NES).
The "C" on the football during opponent selection in Week 1 belies the idea that he is playing on two player. If he were in 2 player mode, then we'd also hear two sounds during each play selection - one for the team on offense and one for the team on defense. It's far more likely - as the video's poster admits - that he is using save states to force the computer player to throw on first down every time. To be fair then, the "knows where the ball is going every time" part of your critique probably isn't too far from the truth. Anyway, from there, it's not as though it's hard in this game to read the defense of a Week 1 opponent and intercept any pass if you're using one of the two best teams in the game. (I think Chicago is the best team in the game, but that's a different argument for a different day.) About the only way the video would have been easier to make occurs if his Week 1 opponent had been one that had three pass plays and one run play.
Totally agree . Though Jason's right about the 2 player. It's lame to cheat on games. And then to boast about getting a high score is worse. I was tryin g to find what the highest score was, because I just got a 77. Which probably isn't the best, but was curious, all I found was this crap. That's a 77 on a real Nintendo not an emulator , no glitches, no slowing it down. On the real game Dallas runs, a lot. So you can't just pick the ball off every time.
Don't get me wrong though. I enjoy this video and come back to watch it every now and then. The number of little tricks in it is quite entertaining to consider. And the sixth touchdown - the last one of the first quarter - is pretty much all on the game player, although again he is helped by the fact hat the computer is inept in Week 1. The short kickoff to leave time on the clock to score was a nice touch.
@joemosberger Actually, I'm pretty sure that whenever the defender is right on the receiver, it's an automatic interception in this game, even without a cheat
hey i always go for 2 point conversions instead of extra points and i havent missed one yet. i once scored 152 points in a game...something like 19 touchdowns and 19 2-point conversions in 1 game. i scored on every possession & never got touched by the defense. it was like 'flawless victory' only instead of mortal kombat it was tecmo super bowl. lots of peeps tell me i am the best they ever seen. i guess i am blessed or just luckier than most. i give all the praise to god first of all, thank you
The NES version of the game did not allow any scoring over 49. All outcomes were predetermined. If you looked in the technical side of the game, all the numbers on the season line on a hex editor indicate the amount of possible points and amount of wins you will have in a season. For example, the computer will let you score up to a certain amount of points, but then will do anything in its power to stop you. Therefore, this is the same engine they use in madden 09-12 for the 360 and ps3...
It is not a glitch. In this game, if you were in front of the receiver, it was an automatic interception. Therefore, unless your receiver was open - running was your best option.
Tecmo original was painfully easy against the computer. Get in front of the receiver = interception everytime. I remember playing with the Raider and having DE Howie Long getting 10+ interceptions a game. Super Tecmo improved on this greatly.
the most i've put up was 78 in one game on the SNES Super Tecmo Bowl... I was Pittsburgh against the Broncos... i was so pissed because i almost shut them out, but they got a touchdown at the very end.
I actually never found that bug. I never even thought to do that. And when I play as Chicago, I have Duerson get all my interceptions. That's just a personal preference. Great video, though.
How was that first touchdown not a safety? I had a game genie back in the day and used every cheat code there was, but I never got the game to score this easy.
There's three things about this that are funny. #1 you have to select singletary on defense. Everytime the cursor starts one him. #2, the opposing defense(in this case the Dallas offense) is always faster and will catch you. Classic video game rubber band physics. #3 Dallas throws the ball every time. They will run it too. Never have I seen a pass on first down on every single drive. This is fun to watch, especially from a bears fan. But no way this is the standard NES programming. Some tomfoolery has been taken.
Regardless of a glitch or cheating, this is a pretty cool thing to see. Singletary was the best LB on the game and fastest. I once played this game with the Chicago Bears and scored all points off kick returns, and had one offensive play aftter Gentry was tackled at the 5 yard line.
Chris Berman: Tony Romo threw 10 interceptions in today's game against the Chicago Bears. Shortly afterwards, Jerry Jones signs Romo to a 6-year, $100M extension.
I like how the qb stands still in disbelief after each interception.
I can't believe I got picked. Maybe I should do something about it. Nah, fuck it.
This is the game that put Mike Singletary into the hall of fame.
BlackNGoldRules 😂😂😂
Then Singletary went into the Hall Of Shame after coaching the 49ers.
crackin me up
Mike Singletary career interceptions in the NFL: 7.
His interceptions, all returned for touchdowns in this half: 10
This was a scrimmage.
Man, no wonder Tom Landry got fired...
😅🤣😂
This is great, man. Everytime I see Tecmo Bowl stuff on youtube, it reminds me of being a kid and playing against my brother. Inevitably, a controller would get launched at the TV screen.
This game brings back so many great childhood memories!!!
I'm still living my childhood.
Oh my goodness right?? I used to LOVE this game!!!
ahhhh.....good ol tecmo bowl. My childhood memories. Man,it was so much fun growing up in the 90s
Christian Banks that was more 80's tsb was more 90's
@@anthonygraham8122 True. But I had both when I was a kid. Got tecmo bowl in 89 and super tecmo bowl in 91
Tecmo super bowl was better
There's something screwy going on. That first score was a safety for Dallas.
Exactly. But there is a well known glitch that does it.
I know right. Crazy.
doowopfan
that's what I was thinking.... a GLITCH!!😮😨
doowopfan just ridiculous call by Ed Hochuli
Dave Cook they must have fixed the glitch in time for Techmo Superbowl
Cannot play with 'em, cannot win with 'em, cannot coach with 'em, can't do it...
+Judah Soremy See, I'm from the old school.. this is what I believe. I'd rather play with 10 guys and get penalized play after play until we had to do something else rather than play with 11 when I know that right now that person is not a part of this team..
Jacob Johnson Lol.
I want winners
Better drop your pants...
Won't do it
Some rooted fans there in Dallas, love the way they continue to cheer for Mike Singletary every time he intercepts their team and runs it back for a touchdown.
The fans in Brazil started cheering for the Germans in that World Cup beat down. Fans just know which team deserves their support.
10 TDs for Mike Singletary, not too shabby
That's a PICK 60.
Anyone else remember the good old tecmo bowl?
The 80s and 90s..
@Gregory MAN! Tecmo Bowl Was The Game Back Then!
WOW! I can still taste the capt. Crunch and smell the Saturday morning air when I would get up early and play. Amazing how the brain works.
"I'm Samurai Mike, I stop 'em cold. Part of the defense big and bold."
I love the music, you got 1st player music, 2nd player music, touchdown, point after, half time, and my most favorite of all, change sides.
Loved this for I am a HUGE Singletary fan!
How did you get the first T.D.? Wouldnt that be a safety?
@RHeckman00 I wouldn't know, I only played tecmo super bowl for the nes. In that game it's not this simple. But I'll take your word for it.
I'm a Bears fan, so I love this!
Props that you admitted using save states. I didn’t read that at first and was wondering how you knew where every pass being thrown, how you didn’t get tackled once and Dallas didn’t run once. LOL.
Trying to evade the tacklers AFTER scoring is a must.
I would definitely through a challenge flag on the sixth touchdown. Singletary ran out of bounds before he broke the plane ;)
i like the TD pass on the first play. i remember the good ol' days when that used to be a safety. i think coach landry needs to make a few adjustments at halftime. probably bench danny white or at least run the ball once in a while.
Typical Tony Romo start.
Lol.
TnT ChEf Is that you, Tony Romo?
TnT ChEf You got me, I'm Albert Einstein. E=MC2. See? I'm a genius!
TnT ChEf Good talk, Tony.
i think you mean a bob griffin or eli manning
Walter Payton always rocked in this game! When I played Chicago, I almost always ran the ball, especially because it seemed Jim McMahon loved to throw picks.
Dallas throws 10 picks to Chicago? I didn't know Tony Romo was in Tecmo!
any else in love with the musical score? god bless the good ol' days.
Tecmo super bowl has better music
Funny, the amount of times I played this with friends I never knew the glitch at the start lol. I do remember cheating though changing computers playbooks to flea flickers to make them fumble most plays to get a lot of points.
Still a better game than Madden 16
I agree
Crack kills.
🤣🤣 hell yeah
Bro the Dallas qb standing there like he's a mannequin and hes going to retire at halftime
Pick-6s in Tecmo Bowl are the sweetest occurrence in all of NES.
I sure would like to know what the Final Score of the game was.
This is the epitome of "rinse & repeat"!
Any idea what the record is not tool-assisted? I've gotten 105-0 using NY a few times on the console with no save states or bugs. This is a fun vid btw nice job.
That last pick 6 at the end of the 1st quarter was an incredible run lol.
The last TD is spectacular!
Chicago was my favorite team in this awesome game)))
Thank for video

Though I will give him credit at least for admitting that he's cheating. But talk to me when you can do that on the real thing
Don't get me wrong though. I enjoy this video and come back to watch it every now and then. The number of little tricks in it is quite entertaining to consider. It's like they say - even when you are playing a far worse opponent, you still have to execute.
Samurai Mike is having quite the game
dude thanks for briging back the memories my two brothers love this game
Makes my day seeing the cowboys get destroyed. lol
Jake0007 Cowboys r killing it this year chump
Yeah, and it's killing me. My only hope is they put Romo back as QB so he can choke in the playoffs before the team gets into the Super Bowl. lol
Ha. must be a giant, eagle, 49er, or steeler fan
Lol Welp I know you're happy to have seen Green Bay Beat 'em.. No Superbowl this year chumps (Cowboys)
Go Steelers
You'd think that at some point Dallas would call a running play.
@joemosberger Actually, I'm pretty sure that whenever the defender is right on the receiver, it's an automatic interception in this game, even without a cheat
You know the other team isn't taking you seriously when Walter Peyton and Mike Singletary both show up to the game as white guys.
I like how all the players start out in the a three point stance.
hey i always go for 2 point conversions instead of extra points and i havent missed one yet. i once scored 152 points in a game...something like 19 touchdowns and 19 2-point conversions in 1 game. i scored on every possession & never got touched by the defense. it was like 'flawless victory' only instead of mortal kombat it was tecmo super bowl. lots of peeps tell me i am the best they ever seen. i guess i am blessed or just luckier than most. i give all the praise to god first of all, thank you

You’re extremely professional!
00:14 - great theme! I always liked that music. I could never play the game well, but I did enjoy that theme.
Wow you know when a game is really old when you see Payton as the running back.
you got mad skillz on returning those int.s
Mike Singletary was a stud. 10 pick-sixes in one half. That's All-Madden team, baby.
Good times. This was our Madden back in the day.
this game was the bomb on the NES
I just watched an ESPN documentary and it talked about how awesome Bo was in Tecmo Bowl
To bad Chicago can't score like that today
jland904 too*
Such memories playing this my senior year
1 TD from Walter Payton and 10 from Mike Singletary, Sounds Legit.
after you score a touchdown and they high five, the blue sky behind them looks like the state of Oklahoma.
Tecmo original was painfully easy against the computer. Get in front of the receiver = interception everytime. I remember playing with the Raider and having DE Howie Long getting 10+ interceptions a game. Super Tecmo improved on this greatly.
You can't do 2 pt conversions in Tecmo Bowl.
Now let's see Dallas comeback from that in the second half
the most i've put up was 78 in one game on the SNES Super Tecmo Bowl... I was Pittsburgh against the Broncos... i was so pissed because i almost shut them out, but they got a touchdown at the very end.
Now it's the Bears on the other side of that score lol
I actually never found that bug. I never even thought to do that. And when I play as Chicago, I have Duerson get all my interceptions. That's just a personal preference. Great video, though.
How was that first touchdown not a safety? I had a game genie back in the day and used every cheat code there was, but I never got the game to score this easy.
gl0087 when someone intercepts the ball in your end zone you get the points
Dallas's QB was so demoralized, he just stands there after every pass.
That's Romo for you.
CPU: Might want to try throwing away from Mike Singletary next time?

This is fun to watch, especially from a bears fan. But no way this is the standard NES programming. Some tomfoolery has been taken.
I think if this game actually happened they would have to build a gold statue of mike singletary outside of the stadium in Chicago.
I JUST ORDERED SUPER TECMO BOWL3 FINAL EDITION SON;AND WE ARE GOIN TO HAVE FUN PLAYIN THIS CLASSIC GAME AGAIN!!!!!!!,PEACE!!!!!!!!!.
instant touchdowns glitch,it's a great way to trick people into thinking they scored
@MrGerryFarmerComedy Yeah! how'd that work?
Mike Singletary is a god damned machine.
LOL! Dallas is playing like the '07 DOLPHINS!
Gettn my fix before i buy the Nintendo pre loaded w 30 games tomorrow
Regardless of a glitch or cheating, this is a pretty cool thing to see. Singletary was the best LB on the game and fastest. I once played this game with the Chicago Bears and scored all points off kick returns, and had one offensive play aftter Gentry was tackled at the 5 yard line.
LT seemed faster than Singletary in this game.
@MazenBlue1817 He caught the ball in an endzone, so the game counted it as a touchdown.
Coach Singletary during his playing days with da Bears! Racking in all the INT's for a touchdown!
Tell ya what man i love mike singletary, they call him control off the leap, cause any windows open, he will close them up in a hurry.
@jmurjeff
Really. I'm sorry I had no idea lol. That really surprises me
Top 10 biggest chokes in history.
Number 1, Chicago Bears.
How did you score that first touchdown? You were at your own 1 yard line, right?
Mike Singletary looked like Bo Jackson with some of those INT returns.
I always used Mike Singletary when I played with the Bears too. I didn't have a great game like this with him. LOL
To me, this still ranks the best football game I've ever played.
Danny White had a really bad day. Mike Singltary benefitted.
Welcome to SOLDIER FIELD, CHICAGO ILLINOIS!
I wonder what this games end score wound up being?
Sometimes I wish I could start up my NES, I have this game in my closet. I wonder if I can get this on the virtual console on my Wii.
So what? The SNL Superfans predicted that "Da Bears" would do this...
If Mike Singletary was as good at being a coach as he is in Tecmo Bowl then my god how many rings would he have?
Chris Berman: Tony Romo threw 10 interceptions in today's game against the Chicago Bears. Shortly afterwards, Jerry Jones signs Romo to a 6-year, $100M extension.
I bet the ending score was 154-0. Great jorb.
Not a single run play. Must be nice having a player #2 throw the ball to the receiver they is closest to you.
them music after the fking interception is catchy
Right but this is tool assisted, I'm wondering about the record for no tool assistance/emulation etc.
this is crazy, but I can't figure out why that dallas team which had herschel walker on it never tried to attempt to run against u.
