i’m 43 and from Louisiana and LT and this video game is the sole reason i’m a New York Giants fan i use to crush the whole neighborhood with LT and the Giants when i was young.

Taylor and Derrick Thomas were monsters in this game.
Derrick Thomas was always criminally underrated in Madden imo. Once LT retired I always thought he was the best defensive player in football, however Madden would just rank up Warren Sapp or Deion Sanders. Even the old timers like Reggie White and Bruce Smith were always rated higher

I had 101 sacks in a season with LT.
That’s insane, i had Kyle Clifton of the jets finish with 60
I did 110 with Mike Singletary. He was on Excellent condition most of the time. So I got lucky with that RNG. I had to keep count after 99 because I think it does not compute in the statistics menu for sacks. LoL

I didn't pay too much attention to the individual stats, but I remember with the Giants you I gave up 3 points for the season.

Well my friends and I played this everyday for almost a full decade and after about a year of playing, someone found the ultimate glitch using the Nosetackle to sack or stop every run before the play could go anywhere. So we banned ourselves from ever using NT’s. And because I’ve been a Chiefs fan since I was 7, I’m 41 now, DT was my favorite defensive guy and Christian Okoye when he’s in Excellent is basically untacklable lol. But Barry and Bo are the best rb’s in the game. I miss playing this game so much. It’s been about 20 years since I last did. 😒lol
Yea we call it Lurching. Bob Nelson from the Pack is the best at it but it's outlawed in Madison Tecmo & most tournaments. Few other cool rules 2 like how they pick matches and teams. 1 chooses match-up & oter chooses what team he will use keeping it from getting to out of hand
The Nose tackle play was very interesting in getting easy sacks and stops. I used it as well.
I play on my phone when I'm bored at work on an NES app for free which stores the stats as well

I was always super dominant using the nose tackle. Didn't matter what team. I could dominate with Mike Golic on the Eagles.

Taylor isn't the only beast on the Giants D in that game. Banks, Johnson, and most of the secondary is very fast. One of the best defenses in the game
Giant's over Bear's D because of LT being in that crucial LOLB position and Dan Morrison for da Bears was terrible.
Bob Nelson and FULCHER are easily the most dominant defenders in all of Tecmo lore.

Everyone forgets that the most dominant defensive player was David Fulcher of the Bengals. He had the PI (Pass Interception rating of 69. He had all the ratings LT had, except he had the higher PI.
Bruce Smith also had the same ratings. I think one of them that does not count for the actual movement of the player. For Bruce Smith (Quickness) was lower than Taylor. I think Taylor had more PI than Bruce Smith.
David Fulcher is the correct answer. Glad to know there are others out there that know the truth.
I'll take Haddix with his speed and coverage. HP isn't as important in the secondary, especially when you've got 75 MS and can fly across the screen and engage the ballcarrier so your drones can tackle him at the LoS
I played every team on the game multiple times over, and it checks out. Fulcher was a madman for the Bengals. I didn't like the Giants offense much, but the Bengals were more fun with Ickey Woods.

yeah LT was an absolitel beast of a defender every time i played he was 20+ sacls a season without blinking and my best ever was a 40+ sack season
The most dangerous player was the nose tackle for the 49ers. You can get a sack every play by diving at the snap.
I liked using Deion to rush the passer, would get over 100 sacks with him every season. Falcons were a pretty decent little team in that game.
The most dominant pass rush was using Bruce Smith or Cornelius Bennett, depending on the play. I'd have them being 1st and 2nd in sacks every year.
See he was on cocaine in the game just like he was in real life... what a role model
I achieved 96 sacks in a season using the Eagles and Reggie White.
Eagles defensive line was crazy good, Reggie was just the best of the best. Jerome Brown was almost as good.
Just as it was in real life in the 90's, and testament to the undisputable fact that Tecmo Super Bowl was and shall likely remain the most accurate video game football simulator ever created by mankind.
I would use howie long and just dive at the snap and get a sack everytime.
