I’m a college professor…. And this is exactly how my semesters begin…middle…and finally end. Lots of flash and excitement in the first few weeks… but it devolves into non-interest, and then outright aggression. We’ll done Dr. Heidecker!
Amazing comment
my favorite oscar special. Possibly tims best performance ever. The subtle buildup in tension throughout is so good.
I always love how everything falls to shit in these specials within the first ten minutes.
Bad news everybody this is full of booze
good news cigarette juice.
"Nobody ever really got hurt, uh... I died in 1975."
Bo-oi-oi-oing!
25:19 “It’s redundant when Tom Hanks wins an Oscar every year”
I love how often Gregg is just factually wrong
Castaway was a 5 Bagger for sure,
You get the impression that Gregg doesn’t actually watch a lot of movies, but studies the VHS boxes very carefully.
@johansmallberries9874 Say what you will about Gregg, but he watched 500 movies in 500 days
You got to give it to the drummer here. I don't know how he held his composure and didn't just start bursting with laughter. You can see him start to crack ever so slightly, but he somehow reels in back in.
Killed me when reappeared as part of Cekkar with a full beard and no glasses down the line.
I was fortunate enough to get plucked from a Facebook puddle to be one of the Deckerheads (dressed as Decker). More interesting than that was how much of a rollicking good time that night was. The studio had an excellent atmosphere of people doing what they love and having fun. :)
James Hansen How did you contain your laughter ?
I didn't the vast majority of the time. Only kept it in when the cameras were on me.
James Hansen I couldn't contain myself when Tim forces the guy to dress up as chaplin and also shouting at James Dean.
***** Man the James Dean part was insane. During that part, I was standing directly behind the cameras, and the atmosphere in the room was quite charged. James Dean threw a f'n knife in Tim's general direction, it was crazy.
James Hansen Wow so that was improvised? It was truly epic.
"He's gonna be a dead man soon" "Ah that could cause me damage" James Dean was brilliant.
People in the zoo can control whoever they want with drugs and chains and bars
It really makes you think
This is my favorite version of Oscar Fever just the way he's dancing and hooting and hollering like a maniac 😂 cracks me up every time
It's crazy how much Gregg knows about the academy. He's even teaching Peyton Reed how the voting works
Tim heidecker's purposeful verbal slips up are absolutely fucking amazing
+Kyle M this is the 5th time I've watched this since it's aired, and I'm still really impressed at his slow slide into drunken behavior. And how he doesn't get goofy with it. It's damn believable.
+Kyle M "I thought it was just generic ice cre- umm organic soda"
+Julie M hes really drunk. Hes a method actor.
+Aubrey Ford i hope thats true. hes basically on par with daniel day lewis.
+Aubrey Ford i want it to be true cause he keeps character so well and his verbal gaffes are so naturally drunk yet so entertaining, its be awesome to think he actually got wasted and still acted like a fuckin master lol
"the inside of a fridge is childproof, that's why kids die in them every year"
In landfills.
astorminrainbows no one can hear their screams
They're weak. Pathetic. I actually heard one crying in a fridge once but I didn't open it.
Ya blew it. Game over. Done.
Not sound proof. The kids are weak and their screams can be heard. Sad.
The last thing you want is a kid getting out of a fridge. It was enough trouble getting them in there the first time.
I fuckin' lost it every time a male voice said he was Ayaka. There's no comedy like this and I love it.
i think the best part about these specials is around the 50 minute mark when it starts falling apart and everyone is scrambling to stop the inevitable
@1:40:48 Tim falling asleep while Gregg reads from the Silmarillion until he breaks character laughing at the ridiculousness of it all... perfection. I have tears in my eyes
whats so funny is Tim looks like he legit fell asleep in the eyes when he wakes up llol
When Tim announced Decker 2 I stood up and started clapping for a full minute. I still remember that experience vividly today.
Perfect now to watch it forty times
“One of their plans is to blow up the uh world trade, the uh, Super Bowl.”
That bit with Peyton Reed was fucking fantastic. He played it so well. “A few less motorcycle riding shots” lmao.
Also how Tim keeps shitting on him. “Best of luck to ya” - incredible.
matt kline i love how naturally patronizing he is 😁
Lmao, they awarded him with a $100 gift certificate that needs to be used in a single visit. Imagine buying $100 worth of chili in one purchase.
If you're a chili head, that's not really a problem.
I’d give it five bags of popcorn, plus a few rolls of extra-soft toilet paper for the bouts of diarrhea that will undoubtedly ensue.
When Greg dropped the cake I realized he's not a mark... But the greatest straight man in modern day comedy.
he plays a character called neil hamburger you might like :)
Niel hamburger is the greatest interviewer of all time, and greatest improve artist
Gregg Turkington is the greatest film expert in Victorville, he's a buff, he's truly wonderful, a teacher, an archivist and a film historian.
Hamburg bastos Adol pahel may agens yu Entelekwal partey Destohuy may Besness magvic netevbalahes Oll maney hakein Oll converseson Oll duconenteb
1:28:00 .. The terrible generic sound effects thrown together during these skits have me in tears... ("I died in 1975" - Insert generic 1950s sound effect)
Still a better award show than the oscars.
It’s better than Oscar
Oscars has their hands tied that year
Oscer will return to strike revenge into the abyss of those who dared to kill TCH Jr. That's not conjecture. There's no argument about it.
Of course, it is not even close!
Light years better
Tim’s transitions are the best. “You can have all the chili you want.” I laughed way too hard at this line LMAO
No comments about the interview with the director of Ant-Man? The slow realisation for Tim that Gregg had acted in a real movie is delicious. I wonder how much the director knew about the setup...
With so many hilarious/memorable moments from this year's special, why is the image of Tim angrily muttering while eating chili at 1:27:13 the thing that stands out most in my mind? "No one disrespects me on my show". Is he mad at Joe for plugging the Deckie? Peyton Reed for giving Gregg a role in Ant Man? Huckabee for being a no show? So many possibilities. Also love how the Deckie ends up in a crumpled mess on the floor almost immediately after Joe leaves.
"That's good very much."
It was definitely over Hucklebee.
That lifetime achievement award for joe was a legitimately sweet gesture. it got me in the feels.
42:07 is the heart of the special.
It's heartwarming to see Joe be acknowledged for his work through the years
Ikr?
Peyton Reed plays this so well. So, so awkward and believable
I love the epic music behind Tim's passionate speech about the technical problems of the show, leading up to Tim ripping off the cross and saying "F**k God"
perfection
I feel like it’s an exact portrayal of Hollywood people he’s probably worked with
coupled with the fact he started the show with a prayer and gave thanks to God, so good
That was one of the funniest lines ever said.....🤣
i've been fiending for tim and eric stuff... i've been ignoring the oscar special stuff. the biggest mistake of my sad, pathetic life! i've missed hours of entertainment!
+jdion79 also, can't get enough of 'oh god' stuff!
this stuff's some good stuff man, glad you like this stuff.
Technically it’s infinite hours of entertainment cause you can rewatch it repeatedly and it never gets old. Literally the only series you need.
I have been watching his trial and these over and over since Corona virus took tv over
@@GeddyRC It literally never gets old. You always catch something new each watch.
I Got the Oscar Fever!
Hope ya got it too!
***** How many times did you get diarrhea, specifically from this instance of ingesting Chaplin's Chili? As in: SEPARATE INCIDENTS. Thank you.
What an honor for Tim to win 4 poppies. I was not expecting that!
Mark was so very talented pre-jaws disaster. His impressions were spot on. It's almost like the spirit of these Hollywood greats are possessing his body.
These guys going through the Silmarillion is one of the best things I ever saw.

As a fan of MST3K, it's so weird seeing Joe Estevez as an integral player within the On Cinema universe.
Also known as the lesser estevez
Or “the poor man’s Martin Sheen”
Or the guy with the small face.
@@keithrichards8526 Joe in Soultaker with Rob Z'dar is the confluence of the tiny faces/ huge heads
@@nebulousisgod also known as “Matte Sheen”
Tim is so awesome at transforming into a monster!
its probably therapeutic to have an alter ego where you can be a total asshole and then in your real life you have all of it out of your system
@@nklin6 some people in the acting world swear by the idea that the kindest people play the best monsters and douchebags because they're intimately familiar with the kind of behavior that they find abhorrent- and that the actors who play the most perfect hero types compulsively tend to be the biggest actual douchebags.
@@Spikeelsucko interesting
@@Spikeelsucko that actually makes sense
@@balloonfiesta15 I had a roommate exactly like him. Dude turned 50 when I moved in and was like pure Tim/David Brent hybrid. Spot on. Now. I work with a complete Gregg. I swear to God. He is prolly 40, lives alone, is very mild mannered, and ONLY talks movies. Kind of perfect.
Got blacked out at my birthday party and karaoke-d Oscar fever using this special, forcing my friends to listen whilst they had no idea what was happening
You seem like a good guy. Best of luck to you.
Were you enjoying some organic Champagne?
@@Eightsixseven23224 Just like Tim my friends and family BEGGED me not to drink, organic was the only option
Turns out it had alcohol and I drank the whole thing in 20 minutes, as the fate of Tim.
You're a legend

this is one of my favorite youtube videos of all time. sometimes on a bad day I'll come back and just watch 19:30 - 21:15. it replenishes my spirit.
I want to give this EXACT speech at the last departmental meeting at my job before I quit one day starting from “we’re in sync”
I always crack up during Larry's speech at 1:28:05 with the ridiculous cartoon sound effects that don't fit with anything he's doing
It's so hilarious dude. The random sounds that have no purpose whatsoever. Stomach hurts from laughing so much.
That intro was amazing.
I gotta say, I don't give a shit about the real Oscars or the movies/actors/directors who win them, but I honestly look forward to Oscar season now, for the On Cinema special!

@@LFC001 it's spelled both ways.
I love the appropriate sound effects when Larry talks about his death in 1975
