From my experience I can keep up with a T50s using a ccgt (with some tuning), but since it lacks acceleration due to the downforce its better to use it when the race passes on the coast. I managed to get a P2 using a Huracan, CCR and CCGT and a P3 using a Fireblade, Regera and Saleen S7 (racing).

Honda Integra Type R is another good car to learn the physics, more acceleration based, but some decent grip
VW Beetle Kahaki Edition is quite off pace, but again, it's good to learn the physics. It's got a lot of grip but fails in other areas
Ford Mustang Boss 429 has a great top speed and decent acceleration but fails through the corners, still worth a pick for some people
