- Hello Everyone!
Alongside the release of the original Alan Wake was a book written by one of the in-game characters. Clay Steward travelled to the town of Bright Falls after Alan vanished. He investigated the writer's disappearance and compiled his findings into a book called The Alan Wake Files.
While in Agent Nightingale's room at the Majestic, Clay uncovered a copy of 'The History of Bright Falls'. A common book written by a Conrad Breaker. In it is an article that deals with the Oddities of Bright Falls.
In today's video we will be looking at some of Bright Fall's History an begin looking at a few weird stories that have been passed around the town for over a century.

Saying _"Bright Falls can get weird"_ is about as understated as saying _"Walmart is a store."_ The statement may technically be correct but just as with the Walmart statement it does not come remotely close to describing the bamboozling events that occur there nor the bizarre near-human creatures that inhabit the place.
It's an absolute understatement lol
Thank you for consolidating every detail from the remedy universe, I would have never normally dive this deep into the lake, nor could I have given the limitation of times within all our personal narratives. Each and every page could only contain a portion of meaning and thus omitting is endemic.
It’s not a lake… but for real though, this channel has been amazing!
You got it man! Kind of hard to stay on top of it all but I love working on this franchise.
Seems like it would take more than a sighting of A Sasquatch to have such a traumatic response.
I agree. I think there was more involved here. But the town kept passing on the story which is worse than what really happened. The Urban Legend becoming real while the truth was forgotten
Towns like Bright Falls and Silent Hill have such great lore.
Cant wait for the Night Springs dlc to get more info.
I wonder what Alan would think of Silent Hill if he went there.
He'd probably a good chance of surviving with his sanity in tact.@@Xehanort10
Alan Wake 2 is happening finally after all these years and I'm so excited that I might do a playthrough for my channel
Do it! I'm beyond hyped
Hey might be pedantic but I live here in Washington puget sound is pronounced Pyu-jet not pu-get
Thanks for the clarification!
@@GamingUniversityUoG big fan of the channel fantastic job! The names of things can be freaking nuts here! GPS is particularly hilarious if you've lived here your whole life 🤣
As a native Washingtonian I winced incredibly hard how you said Puget Sound. It's Pew-Jit. Ironically an English Explorer's name.
Usually I try to find pronunciation videos before I record these on words I'm new to. Guess i didnt on this one lol
@@GamingUniversityUoG It's fine Even with native names it can be hilarious to hear people not from the region to pronounce things. I do apologize if that comment came off a bit rudely, by the way. My wording wasn't to best for conveying both the actual wincing and the playful nature. However, I'd love to hear you try and pronounce Puyallup... It's one that gets pretty much every one that isn't from Washington, Oregon or around Vancouver BC can't get it. 🤣
I didn’t know about new info on Alan wake 2, when did that happen?
None of this is info from Alan Wake 2. This was all released in the Alan Wake Files in 2010 that came out with the original game. I'm just finally breaking down everything we know from way back when.
@@GamingUniversityUoGIt's also available in the game's files if you bought it on Steam which is pretty neat
Are you considering doing a video on The History of Rapture ?.
Respect and keep up the epic work.
Your rapid firing these out i can tell your Hyped im hyped for your Live Stream of it hehe.....TIME KNIFE.
Yellowbat and I have been busy the last month to make a hype train this week

Dude nice! I cant wait. 4 days and counting

Dude same! My time code gets it on Thursday 9pm for launch! Streaming it then
Love all this lore ya doing on Alan wake, keep it up man!
Will do! Glad you enjoy these
Biltmore...really? Lol the Alan Wake writers really just misspelled Built-More and used it as a name.
Lmao it wouldn't surprise me
I know it's a bit out there...
What if Zane is Alan's long lost father?
Personally I have some thoughts about Baldur or Loki being his dad. Got some evidence for it but nothing conclusive
Did you notice that Frank Breaker looks like James McCaffery?
Will you be doing an alan wake 2 playthrough.
Yep! We will be streaming it hopefully Thursday at 9pm when it goes live in my time zone. If not friday morning
Either Bigfoot is a very aggressiv barefoot advocat or he just wanted callahans shoes. We may never know.
Callahan's hair turned white after seeing Bigfoots hobbit feet
holy shit i was not expecting this but ok, i want to say something constructive but i don't know what to say.
ok so i have just thought of something, in the first big trailer for aw2 released earlier this year the cult members were shown wearing deer/elk/stag mask's or heads, this could be a reference to dear fest but it could also be a reference to the folk lore monster and criptid (i think) the wendigo who originated in north american folk lore as cannibalistic monster's, originally there was nothing about them wearing dear skulls but it was added on later, so there may be some significance,
with the paranormal inspiration of remedy's games im surprised that there has never been a reference to criptids or folk lore legends like skin walkers, moth man, wendigo, the flat woods monster and etc.
They do mention Skinwalkers in Control tangentially. They mentioned Sherman Ranch as a recurring AWE location. Ballard AWE more specifically. It is also known as Skinwalker Ranch.
The animal masks lines up with Animism pagan cults. Would have to do more research on it after the game comes out.
@@GamingUniversityUoG alright, time to go down a rabbit hole of information regarding these Animism pagan cults.
welp i already found something the definition's of animism are
the attribution of a living soul to plants, inanimate objects, and natural phenomena.
the belief in a supernatural power that organizes and animates the material universe.
the dark presence (a supernatural force) possesses item's and thus animates the matireal,
in aw1 the main destructive force of the dark presence takes the form of a raging storm or tornado made of darkness.
but another interesting thing i realized while writing the previous statement is that altered item's are mentioned to potentially be alive or conscious at least and there given power by the collective unconscious, and thus the attribution of ideas to objects gives them a soul
but more importantly the collective unconscious a supernatural force, gives life to objects animating them,
the remedy-verse works on the idea's of animism.
Your videos shed a light upon this night of otherworldly fiends. Greetings from Germany ❤
Now that sond will be stuck in my head all day. I love it!
@@GamingUniversityUoG You're welcome 😄
Awesome work as usual! thank you so much 😊
You got it! Glad you enjoy
Just an FYI for future videos it's pronounced Pew-jet sound.
Thank you for the correction
Another great video, I sure wish I was not thinking about a certain game I can not play until this weekend though, a game that I have been waiting 11 years for.
It will be worth it! I said screw it and took some vacation days to play it lol
It's videos like this that makes you appreciate games more than ever!
Appreciate it dude. I swear there are so many to this game we haven't gotten to yet
you don't even write an intro?
