Yep even now in October 2019 ive gone to my local archery shop, quicks in Waterlooville in the UK to test this bow it's jyst awsome to shoot, so will be orderit in blue after Christmas, thx to ur reviews on this bow and other contenders, it seems to offer the most for your money :)
I brought a 2nd hand Perform X 3D from your store Dec '20 (the electric blue one). It arrived late Jan '21 and I shot the NZ nationals for the first time in Apr '21 taking gold in my age group for target and matchplay. In the open team matchplay we took out a couple of top teams winning the bronze. The Perform X 3D is a spectacular bow. I guess the Citation 36 is a another set forward but not sure how much you can improve on near perfection.
Steve, I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy watching your RUclips clips. It was great to meet you earlier this year when I bought a bow off you. Your customer service was excellent and I would highly recommend you to others.. Ben from Toowoomba Queensland.
Since I did the review I think seven customers have shot this bow. Four have ordered one which is amazing to me. They all said the same. One customer preferred the Supra draw.
Archery Supplies As a long time Hoyt shooter I was convinced after watching you shoot it. The bow was stable shooting without stabilization. This makes it easier to setup for smaller statue people or women as mass weight is a issue. I have since purchased the PerformX-3d and am impressed with fit, finish and performance. My daughter(Alexandra Paquette) shoots one and is the world youth cadet silver medalist. She was looking for more speed so she can use a heavier x10 for wind. She wants a rematch with Lucy but with her PSE!
thank you very much for the video. I sold my Expression 2017 after shooting it a bit because of the vibration and went to the Mathews Halon X comp which is super nice. I have ordered the new PSE Perform X so I will see whats up. thank you for a very good review and philosophy on upgrading equipment Great job.
I agree the Halon X had less vibration but some of the paint work I was not happy with. I did and do shoot great with the Xpression. The PSE is also nice with the draw length adjustment.
Yet again, excellent review. Now!!!... what is it to be a performX or performX 3D. Can only pre order in the UK. Look forward to hearing back from you. Can’t wait for your more in depth review and possibly outdoor to see the colour in the sunlight. Cheers my friend. Keep up the great work.
I recently purchased the pse perform x 3d I got a question about limb bolt/draw weights adjustments. how many full rotations can i give the bolt before reaching the end of the bolt?. what happens if I unscrew it too much?. what happens when it reaches the end of the threads?.
Im still really struggling to choose between this the shootdown and the new supra focus cant decide if this is worth almost £300 more sadly i cant try them the only one i can test is the supra and i do like the riser weight
I did shoot both the TRX and the Perform-X. No doubt they are in a league of their own, but the TRX edged out for me. I liked the draw cycle on the TRX a bit better, and it has a feeling of "keeping it simple". You don't yoke tune, you don't have moving limb pockets, you just eye ball everything and it just works well.
Agree, because I have a short DL I went for Perform X 3D, again this year with this bow out-performs the rest! Really like the wider shoot through riser and thicker grip compared to Hoyt ones, found the bow more forgiving and comfortable to shoot, love it
I am currently testing out bows to see which one i want for a new target setup. The problem is that bow is still quite new and they don't have it in my local shop yet. I have seen others with it but I can't find it. Do you have any idea what I should do. Thanks for the great videos i really enjoy them.
You reckon this Perform X or the longer perform X is better than Hyper edge in terms of smooth draw cycle and forgiveness? I have got weak shoulder and shoot past 100 yards.
The Hyper Edge - I don't know anyone who has shot good scores with one. No disrespect Most of the Hyper Edges which were purchased have been sold. There is 1 left in the State and that archer is struggling with it. Perform X vs Perform 3D is a great question. This bow felt great and my customers have the same issue. I have had one target shooter buy the 3D. He was shooting the Elite 35" and found the Perform 3D much better. I think the Perform X. But I have to wait till the bow comes. I always use longer bows.
Does the 6.5" brace height of the 3D model concern you for target shooting? I'm wondering why they made a target bow under 7"brace height. And I ask this because I shoot the evolve 35 with the same 6.5" brace height and feel it's plenty forgiving for target archery. What are your thoughts on this Steven? I know they did it for speed but does it compromise the forgiveness by losing 1/2" brace height?
The engineers believe forgiveness is the time taken for the arrow to get off the string. The head engineer made for himself a short Full Throttle for indoor archery. I would be more concerned over bow length. I have seen people shoot good scores with the Evolve 35. It always surprised me pro shooters shooting the Halon X. But again good scores have been shoot. So yes, but I think it is just the old notion that you need a long bow for target.
I for one don't consider 36" too short for a target bow. Some "target" bows in the 35" - 38" ATA range that are successful. Pity that PSE chose to extract a little extra speed by going with a low 6.5" brace height with this "3D" option, as their Perform X "target" model may be viewed as overly long at 40" by some.
The Xpression has a limb stop but a lot of people don't use it. I found the wall solid. I guess 7 people have shot the bow now in my shop and everyone loved the bow. I really could not notice any give on the stop even at 40#.
Why is it that a person can shoot a 290 score with virtually any compound bow???? It must be in YOUR head that 10 more points can't be reached.... I used to shoot a Allen compound bow with metal brackets back in the 70's when I was 10 years old. Back in the day. Then moved up to a old Jennings Tournament bow and shot 294 with fingers. That was 30 years ago. It is not the equiptment ...it is in your head and mine!!! Peace/Col./Daytona

Love your honesty. Don't buy one until you can justify one (still love my Xpression in 2021!)
Another great review Steve. I will have to give it a go.
Love your reviews, always honest. I loved the look of the Evolve 35 but this is now a serious contender.
Yes it is - It will be interesting to see how they sell. The Evolve is cheaper.
This is what I've been waiting for
Great video. Can you explain your practice instructions on the dry board in the back ground. Always looking for additional drills.
I am looking forward to seeing the differences between the 3D and the standard Perform X, hoping you are able to comparison test both.
Me 2
Thanks for your great reviews, I'm looking forward to your review of the Perform-X. Any idea when you will get one?
Yet again, excellent review.

I dont have any. I ordered the first hour they were available. They should hopefully roll out soon.
I recently purchased the pse perform x 3d

Bästa bågen ever...har själv en😊
Will you be getting a shootdown ? I’m really wondering what you have to say about it! Keep up the amazing work!

The TRX is a twin cam too. So you still need cams to come over together. TRX is certainly a nice bow to shoot. Thanks for dropping a line.
Will you do a review of the PSE Shootdown? Very interested in buying one but cant choose between it and the Evolve 35.
Can u please do a reviev on prime target bows
How would you compare this to the older dominator max ME ?
Best bow ever👌
Give this bow a proper go set up. Don't let the name 3D fool you, I usually find the short bows balance a lot better with stabilizers on the shot
I agree, shot amazing. I will set this one up and try it since I dont have a Perform yet.

This bow was a demo. PSE has just started shipping the 3D. The Perfom X will start shipping in November.
thanks

Archery Supplies thank you. So, will you be shooting the 3D Perform X or will you hold off for the 40” Perform X?

Hi, how hard is the wall compared to Xpression? Thanks

can you put a drop away rest on that bow???
Yes - any rest.
Yes - fit any rest
U going to trade your last year model for the new one?
I sold my Gold Xpression. But keeping me red one for Clout. I will keep the red one as it was a good bow and won some shoots with her.
🎉🎉🎉
Well you sold me!
OKAY,.... OKAY,....I want one!.....Errr would you be mad at me if I still wanted to paint mine,.... myself?
Can you always bring your puppy in the videos
Love my pup. She is always close.😊

Run it through the chronograph
When the 60# version comes in I will.
i think it's better than any hoyt lol.....
PSE have increased the speed. I notice the 2018 Hoyt has a similar cam.
