Late to the party here... Daniel (known vegetarian and no dairy either) was not dieting, he was following a lifestyle. He saw food as nourishment and knew that ingesting flesh and alcohol was so detrimental to health the physical impairments could be recognized by anyone in 10 days time. In these last days, the education system and our families have only taught us to seek food for pleasure alone. We have lost our understanding of the importance of fiber, antioxidants, vitamins and even PROTEIN is packaged entirely in Genesis 1:29. It took me more than 40year to wake up to what the first Chapter of the First Book of the Bible was teaching, and to finally pass the test. When we eat the way Adam and Eve did, our weight normalizes and comorbidities reverse. I'm off all T2D, Hypertension and Depression meds for 5 years and counting. -Be Encouraged HalleluYAH!!
If you like ramen noodles, Costco has a really good brown rice ramen that has like two ingredients, brown rice flour and like a millet flour. It's actually super good with a lot of things. I would totally eat it with some tofu, tahini sauce with like soy sauce and garlic and oil, maybe some chilli onion crunch on top and then whatever veggies sound good, maybe even just some thinly sliced green onions
I don't know why I seem to be struggling with this fast. It's usually not a problem for me. I'm sure I need to pray harder, block out distractions, and be firmer in my commitment 🙏🏽 this was very informative. I know God is Able to see me through

Hello. I just wanted to share with you that if you soak your almonds and remove the brown skin. If you eat them blanched the body absorbs the nutrients better. Your body will be able to digest them better as well.

I started my first Daniel Fast on Jan 9th, so I’m listing what I’ve done thus far and what I will be doing throughout the entire fastIng period. Jan 9-15 No bread or Sweets, - Jan 16-22 No bread, Sweets, or Meat, - Jan 23-26 Fruit & Veg Only, - Jan 27-29 Liquids Only. Extras - 23 minutes of Bible reading ea. day, - 23 minutes of Meditation and Prayer ea. day, - No Beer, Wine, or Liquor, No controlled substances, - No Display of Anger, Cursing, and No Sex Outside of Marriage. Truth be told Daniel did not go on a fast. He declined to est the King's meat. Instead, he ate pulse. At the end of the determined period of the diet he looked better than those who depended on the regular diet. I like your enthusiasm. God bless you as you walk in the word.

Most dressings have added sugars, oils, and additives so I like to just use some hummus and thin it out with some water or fresh lemon juice and add any spices you like. Hope this was helpful!
Hi! So Ezekiel bread isn’t apart of the Daniel Fast because it contains yeast. You can only have unleavened bread on this fast. But if you are trying to ease yourself into this fast, do what works for you. Hope this helps!
Quick oats are not always at the top of my list but for the specific recipe I was using them for in my "Daniel Fast snacks" video, using quick oats just helps them cook/bake more easily. You can always buy whole rolled oats or steel cut oats if that is your preference.
Hi JeLisia, beautiful name 😊 Yes, you can have your plant based shakes. Just be careful with adding any sweeteners. Just use fruit in it’s natural state and you should be good, or no fruit at all in your shakes
Hi JeLisia, Most packaged plant based protein shakes are highly processed and have lots of sugar and other ingredients so I would probably steer clear of those and stick with whole fruit based smoothies like Sharma said with some kind of all natural nut milk or even water and maybe a hand full of nuts on the side if you’re concerned about protein. Again I’m no doctor but I hope this was helpful!
I have a question regarding the canned beans and chickpeas. Wouldn't that be considered processed since they have additives/preservatives? Or does the fast just have to be plantbased?
You can always buy canned beans that do not contain any additives or preservatives and only have water or water and salt. Sometimes people have to use what they have access to. But if cooking dried beans works better for you then do what works. Thanks for watching, hope this helped.
Hello! Yes these are good for the Daniel Diet just salt, oil, and dried fruits in moderation. (make sure no added sugar to dried fruits and you should be good)
We only eat whole foods and no processed foods for the Daniel fast. For example, the chickpea pasta is processed food. The options presented are more in line with a vegan diet and not a Daniel fast (diet).
My goal with these videos was to make them as accessible and “digestible” as possible so I get where you’re coming from about the pasta but if that doesn’t align with what you consider to be a true Daniel fast than I understand. These are just helpful suggestions but can be adjusted to the individual. I appreciate your comment because you weren’t the only one who said this.
This is a great question. I am not a doctor or health care practitioner so I would definitely consult with your doctor for a proper answer to this question. And I would highly suggest anyone taking part in this fast to consult your physician if you are on any medications and are making such a big change to your diet. I Hope this helps!
I have questions. Is it okay to really eat the processed items as that is not truly fruits and vegetables or are we doing this as a loophole? Like the tofu and the pastas? I’m interested in this fast but I want to be sure I’m buckling down completely as the Bible (biblical times) would have it…like isn’t it supposed to be a sacrificial thing? HELP?!
Anything processed is not allowed. Tofu is processed from bean curds. Pasta is processed from wheat or rice or vegetables. No processed foods, including meat and anything with refined sugar in it. Some people think whole wheat bread is allowed but if it has added sugar and preservatives, it might not be kosher.
Hi thanks for your question. I wouldn’t consider the groceries I purchased to be a “loophole.” From the research I’ve done I’ve seen that the pasta and tofu are okay. We don’t live in biblical times (from a food sourcing stand point) and for a lot of people I do think this can still be considered sacrificial but I understand you want to get as close to that as possible so by all means I feel like you should do what makes the most sense for you and aligns with your spirit. I made this video so that this way of eating would be the most accessible for anyone participating. If you feel like adding in the tofu and pasta is not as authentic do what you feel is right. I appreciate the question though because I feel like other people have it as well. I tried to answer your question to the best of my abilities and in a way that resonated with me the most and I hope it will be received well. Stay well! ☺️

You can have veggie burger I usually makes mine from a recipe I came across. People buys those morning star veggie burgers read the ingredients. Amazon has a veggie burger mix. Jackfruit is good too!
Hello! I would probably steer clear of any kind of plant based "meat" mainly because they are highly processed and I think one of the goals is to eat as close to the source as possible. But like @tania said you can always make your own veggie burgers. I like to mash up some black beans, sweet potatoes, and corn with lots of seasoning for mine. Or you can use any veggies you like. Again I'd probably steer clear of processed plant based "meats" but do what works for you. Hope this was helpful!
You can have salt in moderation. And I’ve found chickpeas at my local Whole Foods without salt. If not there you may just have to ask at your other local supermarkets but I feel like I’ve seen them at my Shop & Stop as well. I hope you find them, or maybe just buy them dry in the bag.

Quick oats are more processed than rolled or steel cut
Quick oats are not always at the top of my list but for the specific recipe I was using them for in my "Daniel Fast snacks" video, using quick oats just helps them cook/bake more easily. You can always buy whole rolled oats or steel cut oats if that is your preference.

Hi JeLisia, beautiful name 😊 Yes, you can have your plant based shakes. Just be careful with adding any sweeteners. Just use fruit in it’s natural state and you should be good, or no fruit at all in your shakes

Hi JeLisia, Most packaged plant based protein shakes are highly processed and have lots of sugar and other ingredients so I would probably steer clear of those and stick with whole fruit based smoothies like Sharma said with some kind of all natural nut milk or even water and maybe a hand full of nuts on the side if you’re concerned about protein. Again I’m no doctor but I hope this was helpful!

I have a question regarding the canned beans and chickpeas. Wouldn't that be considered processed since they have additives/preservatives? Or does the fast just have to be plantbased?
You can always buy canned beans that do not contain any additives or preservatives and only have water or water and salt. Sometimes people have to use what they have access to. But if cooking dried beans works better for you then do what works. Thanks for watching, hope this helped.

Hello! Yes these are good for the Daniel Diet just salt, oil, and dried fruits in moderation. (make sure no added sugar to dried fruits and you should be good)
We only eat whole foods and no processed foods for the Daniel fast. For example, the chickpea pasta is processed food. The options presented are more in line with a vegan diet and not a Daniel fast (diet).
My goal with these videos was to make them as accessible and “digestible” as possible so I get where you’re coming from about the pasta but if that doesn’t align with what you consider to be a true Daniel fast than I understand. These are just helpful suggestions but can be adjusted to the individual. I appreciate your comment because you weren’t the only one who said this.
Can you do the Daniel fast if you take thyroid medicine?
This is a great question. I am not a doctor or health care practitioner so I would definitely consult with your doctor for a proper answer to this question. And I would highly suggest anyone taking part in this fast to consult your physician if you are on any medications and are making such a big change to your diet. I Hope this helps!

I have questions. Is it okay to really eat the processed items as that is not truly fruits and vegetables or are we doing this as a loophole? Like the tofu and the pastas? I’m interested in this fast but I want to be sure I’m buckling down completely as the Bible (biblical times) would have it…like isn’t it supposed to be a sacrificial thing? HELP?!
Anything processed is not allowed. Tofu is processed from bean curds. Pasta is processed from wheat or rice or vegetables. No processed foods, including meat and anything with refined sugar in it. Some people think whole wheat bread is allowed but if it has added sugar and preservatives, it might not be kosher.
Hi thanks for your question. I wouldn’t consider the groceries I purchased to be a “loophole.” From the research I’ve done I’ve seen that the pasta and tofu are okay. We don’t live in biblical times (from a food sourcing stand point) and for a lot of people I do think this can still be considered sacrificial but I understand you want to get as close to that as possible so by all means I feel like you should do what makes the most sense for you and aligns with your spirit. I made this video so that this way of eating would be the most accessible for anyone participating. If you feel like adding in the tofu and pasta is not as authentic do what you feel is right. I appreciate the question though because I feel like other people have it as well. I tried to answer your question to the best of my abilities and in a way that resonated with me the most and I hope it will be received well. Stay well! ☺️

Hello! I would probably steer clear of any kind of plant based "meat" mainly because they are highly processed and I think one of the goals is to eat as close to the source as possible. But like @tania said you can always make your own veggie burgers. I like to mash up some black beans, sweet potatoes, and corn with lots of seasoning for mine. Or you can use any veggies you like. Again I'd probably steer clear of processed plant based "meats" but do what works for you. Hope this was helpful!

I thought for the Daniel Fast, you can’t have any salt. I’ve been having issues finding chickpeas in a can without salt.
You can have salt in moderation. And I’ve found chickpeas at my local Whole Foods without salt. If not there you may just have to ask at your other local supermarkets but I feel like I’ve seen them at my Shop & Stop as well. I hope you find them, or maybe just buy them dry in the bag.
