Some good info here but it will take me a while to get over the headache I got from the wildly swinging camera, made worse by the fast forwarding. Also, it would be good if you could give the part number for the strip (or strip set).
I have the same tv and ONE burnt led out of all 48 of them and the entire thing went black! Not happy with that! Alot of the higher end models usually have 5 out before the entire panel goes out
great job as always! I get a few of these every week.. these models and every different size of these models.. the s421, s401, s423 and the s425 I get the most... Every one of these models and every size version of these models have a defect in the back lights! The one good thing is they're very inexpensive to get and you can get the remanufactured brand new version of the back lights with the defect fixed. Shopjimmy, if it has the word new in the title of the listing of the part, 99% of the time they're brand new remanufactured and no defects so they will last longer than when the TV was originally bought brand new in the store....
A 65" TV with only 6 backlight strips? That's a very poor design for such a large screen, most have at least 12 strips in this size range. TCL is junk.
Its their 4 Series and a low end 4 Series at that. They cost $370 for the 65inch and indeed the back lighting is terrible. If you are getting TCL you can get their 5 series QLED pretty cheap and its so much better. Its a get what you pay for kind of thing.
Was able to fix my Grandmamas tv cause of this video, thank you sir!
Great job teaching your son!!!!!!
Man you guys are awesome and this video helped me so much! 🔧

order by tv model number and is always better to check your old strip before you order as sometimes same model may use different parts
What is the white film covering the LED strips? And if its damaged how to fix?
nice work👍

i test the strips just to show how to do it, i always replace all strips
