Interesting mindset. I’m also try not to collect anything these days. Maybe tools 🤔 but only those I use. I used to collect records and still have a good few hundred. I prefer not to be so precious about things and now get a lot more joy from making and putting those things out into the world for other people to use.
It is funny as I actually have a tendency to get precious about objects around me...but only those that see constant use...like my tools, my watches, my Filson bag...would hate to loose any of them. But I think that goes back to the "collecting stories"...a store bought tool is just that until I modify it or have used it for a number of years and put my "scars" on it.
Cool video! I also collext match boxes. At one point I wanted to get rid of the excess, but instead I made sort of box and glued the coolest boxes into it like a puzzle, then hung it on the wall. I also collect knives, backpacks, and other edc items (pens, flashlights) cheers!
It’s all a matter of how to define the term „collect“. I can see a lot of similarities between your approach and mine. My „collection“ does not aim at being complete in one segment, I‘d rather like to have one of everything in my set. Every steel, every scale material, every blade shape, every lock etc. One a box is checked, I move on to the next one.
Great episode like always my friend. Really surprising that you are not considering your self a knife collector at least Giant Mouse knives collector 😜. But you are the legend, so I’m Jens Ansø’s knives collector for sure, and proud I am. Keep those beautiful episodes up buddy.
Nice Durand you got ! Show us more what's in your drawers ! I'll look if I still got some old French matches box. If you had made that video earlier I had a lot of them. I don't collect to collect. I use them all, well may be at 99%. ^^ I'm just a knives nut/enthusiast ! :)
Loved the content/subject matter. Can't say that about how much the video jumped around, however. I found that a bit off-putting. You asked, so here's my other interest; I enjoy having a nice pair of boots (a few are handmade custom) for whatever the situation calls for.
I hear you....we are experimenting a bit with the format...thanks for the comment. It is appreciated. Boots are cool! I do love me a pair of quality booth though none are custom at least I have a limit run pair of Redwings.
We need a lot more deep dives into your massive collection :D
+1
I think you are right :)
You have a beautiful not-collection, Jens. I love the idea of having stories connected to the pieces you own.
thank you! Without the stories its just objects right?
@@jensanso For sure. Basically, we could say that you have a collection of stories. :)
That is a great way of looking at it.

Raven is such a great term to explain the behavior of collecting things we like.
I think it makes quite a bit of sense in describing me at least.... :)

Thats cool!...I believe the majority of my collection was turned into firewood 10-15 years ago.... :(

pretty much accurate yes :)
Love the Barrelknife. Need one of them at some point because as you said they are cool.
they are indeed! and fairly inexpensive.
well done!
👌🏻😊

That is very much appreciated! Glad you enjoy the episodes!

I am sure we will dive in deeper along the way in the drawers :)

You might have a collection on your hands… ;)
I think you are right :)
@@jensanso looks like a good one though ;)
😊🙏🏻
You love to buy and collect. It is a collection. But you are not a completionist.
That makes sense...ya I am not a completionist. I do recall hear that word in some of Adam Savages videos...
