the uni ball kuru toga advance upgrade is currently my favorite pencil. the rotating lead will change your life! the kuru toga alpha gel switch was my previous favorite. breaks a lot of lead tho. the grip isn't as nice on the new one but writing is amazing.
I was not familiar with this one but I will try and get hold of one and try it out!
Howdy From Central Texas Jens! I can find them here in the States, but the lead only in the .5 but not the not the .8. I use the Zebra .5 and typical Drafting pencils with HUGE Lead. LOL!!! KnifeMaker
Interesting. I would have thought something like pencil lead would be available all over the world.
@@jensanso Probably is in a real city. But here, it is a small, in the middle of nowhere food and everything else desert. GRRRRR!!!. KnifeMaker
ah ya that makes sense....I get most everything online anyways....I probably could get most in Aarhus which is 45 mins away but I don´t get out as much as I would need to if not for online buys! :)
Ooo man, that’s the exact configuration I ordered. You can just send that one my way 😉
Thanks so much. You would most like prefer one that’s not full of pocket lint and used pretty much every day for the last few months.
Great one Jens ! Sometimes there is something missing, at least for me, like a sharpening choil. Here the knife seems perfect ! 😎
I don’t as sharpening choirs on all my design. Used to have a thing with sharpening choils shakes wrongly can interfere with the cut. But finding the useful and proper designed won’t interfere
I love mine. Thanks again for an awesome knife !!
great to hear and you are very welcome!
Mine is in the mail right now, can't wait to get it in hand.
let me know what you think once it arrives! :)
Cool setup, brother! Hello from Idaho
Thanks man...I love these grinders.
Will there ever be any left handed models? TOKO is 👌
It is something we strongly consider....it's hard to dedicate the time to reverse all the parts and fixtures to do it though...
I love Chris Reeve Knives. I toured their facility and was blown away. Awesome to see you expand and get some great takeaways from them!
thats awesome you got to see the facility! really thought it was super interesting. That I got to take information with me home was icing on the cake.
Just bought the Toko, as my first Anso, and it's really THAT good a knife. Congratulations on the knife to Jens and his team, I have a feeling this is going to be a "bestseller". 🙂 Now I just need the Aros in my collection.
Thanks so much! I enjoyed you visiting to pick it up.
A good design is one that fufills the design intention well. Would be nice to hear more about what you were trying to achieve with this knife and why you think you have succeeded.
Thats actually very hard for me to describe...I think function first and foremost, then to make an interesting design. I think both criteria are succeeded with this design. The function is for general use so thats very broad range...I think it all comes down to a gut feeling and if I like the design.
Very Nice Jens! Jered Neeve's is one of the few reviews I trust. Thank You for bring attention to His Work! KnifeMaker/Retired after over 47+ Years in the Craft and in association with the R.W. Bob) Loveless/Jim Merritt Shop
I try to spread the words on all the good people I know when I can :)
:<)!!! KnifeMaker
:)
TOKO is awesome. I just think it needs some more thickness at the tip. That tip looks scary thin.
I can see that. My main focus when making knives are to make them cut really well. I can see the need for thicker tips for certain applications but that generally is for chores that involve putting side ways pressure or for stabbing into wood and such and for that I prefer other styles of knives....not to say that the TOKO won't handle these too but making the tip thicker would compromise the cutting/slicing ability...knife design is all about compromise and I favor cutting for sure on the TOKO.
@@jensansoSo nice to hear you explain this! So many people only complain about things they don't like about a knife without understanding what the knife was primarily designed for. There are always compromises that are made and the knife designer is the one who makes those decisions...for a reason. Understanding why the designer made those decisions is so nice to hear and hopefully it will help people understand the process better. Thanks so much for sharing! As a side note, I've always liked knives, but after discovering Giant Mouse, I've officially become a knife collector, primarily of GM knives, and I think they are absolutely incredible in both design and function. Thanks for making awesome knives!😁👍
I am happy you enjoyed my answer. I do try to be as transparent as possible and also think that "educating" people on why my knives are made like they are help understand the product and give them a higher appreciation for the knives...I am very considerate on each detail and try to show it in the knives.
also love that you have become a collector of knives, GM in particular...thanks so much for the kind words.
@@jensanso I think it definitely shows in your knives and I really appreciate it. I spend a lot of time handling my GM knives and I keep noticing little details and intricacies that just aren't there on so many other knives. Like the way the spine profile of the blade is carried on and matched by the handle in the closed or folded position which looks so good and isn't found on many other knives, at least that I have. I could go on and on, but man I sure am happy with my Giant Mouse knives 😁 You and Vox sure were an amazing team!
Mine will be home soon!!!🎉
Rock on....thanks so much!
Got my TOKO for about a week, it is definitely my favorite one among all Anso knives.
Thats so great to hear. Thanks so much!
I have two customs in process with Jens, but I think I need a TOKO!
Yes you do :) And I do appreciate your support :)
Let me think about it... YES!!! lol
🤣
That was a long thinking pause :) rock on buddy!
@@jensanso lol didn't need any thought. The action on the Toko stands alone at the top
just pulling your leg...I was referring to the 3 dots "..." pause ;)
🤙🏻
Yo!
I gotta get the belt conversion for my surface grinder. And auto feed 😅 very nice
It’s has its advantages. A stone gives better finish. We have that and hydraulic feed on that. Belts give broader options for cutting fiber material, screws to length etc.
That's awesome, and beautiful!
Really is.
Give Lateef & The Chief a try 👌🏻 Beautiful You is a great cut
I'll check it out!
Very good. I wanted to see the results...LOL.
Next time!
But what are you listening to ?
Blackalicious today 🤗
@@jensanso Gift of Gab 😉
@@jensanso Ever heard Lyrics Born ?
That too. Been listening to him working out. Love it.
YES! Such a cool artist. Heard him with Chali 2NA then bought one of his albums I really dig.
Keep calm And carry A Toko 👍
There you go!
I'm celebrating Martin Luther King day instead of watching the inauguration of the Tangerine Tyrant. Nice additions to the library. Peace ✌️
🤗
I'm doing neither of those things tday because both are equally .......
....
Would be awesome to see some close up shots of that collection!
I could see that happening for sure.
Have a fantastic 2025, thanks for all the knife designs so far - looking forward to your next ones!
Thank you very much and I hope for a fantast 2025 for you too!

right you are :)

he sure does....Both Tom and Adam are huge inspiration sources for me...!
OK. My "problem " doesn't bother me as much now! 😂👍
Well the first problem is defining it as a "problem" :) there.....I think that settles it....pay on you way out....best regards Jens, the psyko therapist ;)

Mammoth inlay. Exactly what I was thinking. ;<) Always admired Bob Lum's designs. Your design for sure. But it did bring back memories of His work. Outstanding! Jens!! On a side note, I see the 911 in the background. Odd, I have the same in a shelf over the computer screen. Only different color. Mr. Bob, (Loveless) snuck a picture of me setting at Jim's work bench, (Merritt) and he ask what I was looking at thru the window. Mr. Bob, I have designs dancing in my mind. It never stops I told him. The results were a new line of Knives to come from the Loveless Shop. We ended not being able to do it due to Mr. Bob's death, bot I did make a few sets of them. They were the Loveless connection Knives full Integral City Knife, Stiff HOrn and NY. Special. They sold very-very well and were very popular. They added a very modern look to the Loveless Knife. Hate they never carried the Loveless Logo but they did have the Nude Loge that Mr. Bob had made for me. some collectors thought I stole the logo. We never did get around to telling the World that Mr. Bob himself had the logo made for our collaboration. Mr. Bob wanted to do the reveal Himself. Never had the chance. KnifeMaker
I had the great fortune to meet and talk with Bob Lum at the Blade Show...we discussed him working on a piece for me though it unfortunately never happened. I never met Loveless though his "How to make knives" book was fundamental in my young maker years. Sad when legends pass....the knowledge that is lost is a massive loss for the world and the community.
Very nice upgrade and the original absolutely rocks
agreed 100%
No women no kids
oooh I enjoy that reference!
8 or 900. As soon as you posted about leaving GM I was thinking about 3 small tables worth so I wasn't far off lol. 😅😅
haha....agreed ... :)
I spotted a few ones that wanted to discover germanys EDC-world 😂 just send them over and I'll guide them! Amazing collection!
thank you...! All of these has been available through Giantmouse sometime or another...well except for the prep production proto types and proto types not made it into production....got quite a few of those :D
@@jensanso haha i bet ! I'd love to see all the prototypes... I bet you got some treasures there. Take care 😊
oh yes I do :)
Jens, are there any updates on the progress of the Anso Aros V2(hollow ground blade/refined button lock)? I pre-ordered one as soon as the pre-ordering became available.
We are currently making these....I would expect delivery towards the end of the month.
All the best of luck for the next steps.
Thank you very much
Jens i haven't wanted to pile on... lol but while I know this will allow you to design so many more incredibly beautiful & badass knives but ... there is no question this is the end of an era. I have met so many people & have had so many incredible experiences from becoming a fan of GM. I Was also at Filson in Boston. I'm looking fwd to seeing you everyone at Blade show in June. 👊👊
Looking forward to meet up...happy to hear you will be there! Yes this will for sure free up a lot of time in the studio for other work and I am very excited about that.
Would you consider doing a Field Watch ?! Your complete process would just knocked it out of the park!! Cheers!!
I would not say no as I absolutely love watches. I do think it is somewhat out of my wheelhouse at least right now.
Uoh! First of all Happy New 2025!! Honestly the most used tools for me are the corkscrew and scissors. The scissors are quite a beautiful complication. So far the classic sd has the high land on scissors imo. So I would prioritize the corkscrew, if you can please do so!! The scales tweezers and toothpick would be nice to have! Cheers!
Thank you ..! thats really interesting to hear. I agree on the scissors. I do enjoy the idea of the corkscrew and have used it numerous times though it is not a tool I use on general basis. I found that being a scout leader the tweezers gets used a ton too.
I'm happy to see how successful you have all been. You guys have all put in the hard work without compromise and it shows. I wish everyone the best as they focus fully on their separate endeavors.
Thank you so much. 🤗
Well done, gentlemen. I've so enjoyed watching the ride.
Thanks buddy. This goes both ways you know.
I hope the iconic vox/anso collaboration will continue on, even in a more limited aspect.
There is still a few designs not released yet. 😊
Mange tak.
🤗
I met Jens at the Seattle Filson Tour and we chatted for at least an hour. It was such a thrill. You are such a rockstar in the knife community but one would not know it based on how down to earth you are. Sad to see you leave GiantMouse but excited to see Anso of Denmark grow. Good luck in the future Jens.
I do appreciate that. I recall that day very well and not just because of the tattoo 😅 thanks so much 🤗
Congrats on the success brother! What a ride. Look forward to seeing you at Blade!!
Me too buddy 🤗
J'apprécie énormément ce que vous avez apportez avec Giant Mouse, et suis rassuré de savoir que vous continuez à proposer vos superbes designs via diverses collaborations. Merci pour votre travail exemplaire. P.S.: Joli T-shirt...
Thanks so much. I really appreciate your kind words. I dig the tshirt too 🤗
I'm slightly disappointed that the odds of randomly running into Jens Anso in East Lansing, MI are lower now, but I'm glad you're excited about the future of your brand!
Thank you. Plenty of other places to run into me 🤪
