I absolutely love my Monte Carlo. I've had sooo many offers for my certain model. And I won't budge. These are definitely popular knives. And for good reason. Super sharp and a timeless design. Also owning the ZT 0230, while it's great as well, you can definitely feel the custom quality between the two. Looking forward to picking up more Ansø pieces.

    Dear Jens,
Thanks a lot for the insights in the reasons why the Monte Carlo is how it is.
Loving my MKM Roots (I do have a few of those) I would highly appreciate an adjustable double detent which allows me to put into the strongest position possible. Alternatively I would love to see a backspring version of the Monte Carlo with tension of the Root or the Farley
For me, the three knives with the "best" backspring tension are
    1. Rinkhals by Arno Bernard
    2. Farley by Giant Mouse
    3. Root by MKM
I like the mechanism of the Impinda by CRK too, but this a different kind of construction and not comparable.
Living in Germany I can only carry slip joint knives to eliminate the risk of getting in trouble. The Aros Ultem would by my favorite, if...
Would love to add a Mote Carlo with a tension of a Root to my EDC.
    Take care
    Ritchie

Thanks for your insight in the slipjoints you like and carry. I am very happy about sliojoints and will explore this much more in the future.

That "tick" 1:48 💌 Japan is also very restrictive in regard to knife carry. Even if you carry a non locking knife with a blade below 45mm you can still get in trouble if you're not able to properly justify it... meanwhile people get killed with kitchen knives.. oh well :D I think the MC is popular because it's small, light and non locking as you said but moreover because it is an AWESOME and timeless attractive design!!

I considered that but thinking this IS a knife channel it might not make much sense.

Frikken ridiculous laws, how big are the standard chef knives used in kitchens compared to these tools... Best of luck to you Sir

Hardly any laws restricting regular people are anything less than ridiculous… yet we still have to follow them.
