PrimalRC never really got it right with their dragster… the Raminator is a work in progress and now this looks like history repeats. But it looks great. Too fragile for me. Great video
Hey ! Great video . I recently got one of the little hand held blowers from bang good (or ali ) and it works better than i expected to blow off the rcs . Next best thing to having an air compressor on hand . I think you would put one to good use and it would help with not only the dirt and sand , but the unexpected ( or expected ) puddle and water .
Man, i'm sure you already understand that this car dinamic is a bulls... It does not run strait, everytime you touch the steering it unbalance the chassi. Put the car in bench, increase the rear wheels toe for 4° and in front open the steering 2° or 3°. This will help a little. But it will not fix a bad chassi. The car is pretty, ok, but very bad dinamic.
Most tx's of today has the electronic abs! You'll need to configure the cycles so it won't spin out. ALSO, 'thr acc' or 'thr start'. Limits ramp up on the esc.
I love the look of these cars, and the parts are beautiful. But it just seems like they're prone to breaking and not very easy to drive. Good job getting her ripping to 73!
It needs a bigger rear wing.i have an old associated tc3 nitro 2 speed,4wd.with no rear wing,I can't even get it into 2nd gear without it spinning out.added the bigger rear wing, and the car goes straight as am arrow, and can get it topped out in 2nd gear. I run a lot of steering expo and it helps also. Dx6 rugged transmitter, no gyro, I never use them.
That huge body shell makes the GNSS look like the size of a receiver lol. I have a 2wd slash that I've had up to 119 so i know how unstable 2wd cars can get over about 60 so I would suggest turning the steering dual rate WAY down and don't touch the steering over that 60mph mark. If u have to correct the trajectory, let off the throttle and steer slowly. Get it going straight, hammer down and stay out the way lol. Good luck on hitting 100, I would love to see video it!
Guys if you watch the video carefully you'll see that the car DID NOT CATCH AIR, the entire run he was struggling to keep it going straight. In slow motion you can see the slight pull to the right and then the correction left which cause the car to simply flip. With a vehicle so heavy that should never happen ,tells me the suspension setup needs a lot of tuning, 2WD is always going to be a problem for speed runs anyway @exocage rc A absolutely beautiful RC but you need to spend some time tuning out the bugs for example braking causes spin outs. I had this problem on my FG (hydraulic brakes) and brake Exponential was the key , disable braking on the motor.
@@ExocagedRC don’t get me wrong, the car look 👀 great, I guess like every new vehicle, you will find little things as you go, hopefully you can get it back on the road quickly 👍
I burnt and completely locked my hobbywing 800kv 56118 motor in a 1/5 scale 2wd buggy (custom hormann ht3). Was running on 12s and on grass. Absolutely gutted about it. Make sure you have adequate cooling for that motor! Im going to go with a 650kv, hopefully that one lasts.
put it on a clamp and make your own jig with a dual cam slider. This is essentially an RC alignment rack set up. Soften up the front suspension spring pre-load, this will give you better control as the load shifts to the rear axle more and more. Primal needs outside input on some design modifications to the suspension bracing, and steering rack (to mitigate all that steering slop).
Looks pretty rough to my eye, but hoping they get it sorted. The world needs more 2WD RC. But, as we see here, there is some engineering to be done to make it drive well.
It’s been twenty plus years since I ran anything even close to that. Back in the day the 1/5 FG cars would take a few minutes to warm the tires. I don’t know if that was part of the issue or if modern tires don’t need time before they are at their best ? . I don’t think a servo for the brakes is necessary for driving a speed run.? Something else is wrong with the steering other than a servo not holding true in my opinion.
Looks like the rear is set up very close to the front. I wonder if it's toed in or out just a little bit and that's why it's hard to make it go straight.
Things like this happen. No need to be upset with the driver, it wasn't stable, this is the testing part. It will reach 100 mph. Give him another chance!
you should try the XT150 battery connectors, so you don't have to have a series connector. all have to do is take the positive end on one battery and plug it into the negative end on the other, and the same with the ESC.
The darting left and right is more than likely a wheel alignment issue than a servo issue, (if you're set on replacing the servo get a Perfect Pass 110kg servo, top shelf stuff).. the car needs toe-in for high speed stability.. Just my observable opinion..! Also try to make a motor-end support, as its only held on by a couple of screws at the pinion end...
I wonder if your suppose to toe in for race cars.. 🤷♂️ To bad about the servo, that ruins everything. I honestly don't think I would even bother until the new servo is in. No way, not with that car.
new parts and a new servo will be done, lowering it down, moving some weight around and adjusting these brakes for sure they were not helping at all lol
Nice car but needs some tuning for stability, as I can see it is not stable when turning. Besides that, the body is just awesome it is a huge car I wish it was a four wheel drive.
Hopefully it's just the servo and not the mechanical thats keeping it from going straight. If possible add as much caster as you can and lock up the front diff to stabilize it
I’m excited for any big RC, but I didn’t like the design of this since the second Primal released that they were doing this. How you design something like that without a plan for big lipos, , a Max 4 or even the new Mad Max esc?
Lol. With as expensive as I'm sure this thing is. One would THINK it would have a much nicer servo and maybe wouldn't break on the first small crash...
Off camera we check it out we could move the servo horn without servo movement. Either the horn splines are loose or the gears have play in them. I haven’t messed with the servo since the crash
I wish i could say it's just a 3000 dollar car if i ever get one i probably won't drive it lol i don't make enough to replace something like that but it's so beautiful 😢
Tried to like it but simply cant, it doesnt handle, you have to start grimdimg bits away and moving parts just to get decent electronics in it, the servi it comes with is poor, really does feel like a rush job to get it out. Great idea, poor exicution, im sure it will have its market though! Good videos though!
I have a custom Traxxas 4 tec 3.0 Corvette with Vitavon chassis and all the best parts you can buy. Everytime I speed run that thing I wreck it. Last time was a doosey. Mashed up the carbon and that nice body. Chunked my foam tires. Its been sitting a while 😂
Nothing Primal makes seems to actually hold up to normal use. They seem to make nice big and expensive shelf queens but that's about it. The Challenger looks like it handles and brakes like a turd.
2300.00 and the servo is junk? Nope a Red one was doing a drag run and turned in the same direction as your's did caught air and flipped over, and the body came off, just like yours. I said this in your last video, it is too high off the ground and it will catch air. The body needs more reinforcement. Both broke, wow they should have been made with aluminum or carbon fiber, being it cost over 2300 bucks. This like the X01 spins out at higher speeds. I just don't see 100 MPH. In a huge 4000 foot parking lot, with no obstruction or cars, probably. Primal RC seems to sell these monsters and after testing their are lots of mods people do to them, and for the cost they should not have to. Out the box Arrma road cars do 80+ with the speed pinion. They are adjustable and they will do 100+ with a 31 or 32 pinion on the gears they came with, to include the tires. In less than a month it will be back on the shelf, because their will be no replacement parts to be had. No one is going to be building aftermarket parts for this shelf queen. I would design some 3D parts to fill in the bottom of the car, and add some weight to the front. Carbon fiber looks good but it's useless in RC speedrunners. if the batteries can be moved forward, your going to continue to catch air and flip or keep spinning out, just like the Failed X01 does.
Buddy sit back and relax, we already have plans to adjust the weight bias and get it lower, its litterally right out of the box on this, how fast did the other guy go before his did this? These things will get to 100 and I'm working on getting us smaller spur gears.
@@ExocagedRC Sir, the point I was making it's really not a speedrun car. Nothing close to Arrma road cars. It's just too big. You are forced to do 12S just to get over 100 MPH. But I get it, and it's ok. I would have done all those above adjustments before I attempted to do any speedrun. But you did not. If you notice in the burnout video, I already predicted the outcome of your speedrun. Because I do them a lot. Moreover I will continue to watch your progress. I think you just rushed it a bit.
Not stable enough for me. Why didnt they add a bit more plastic and reduce the amount of heavy metals? Its would have cost less, and I assume they would sell more units. To me, this is garage shelf queen to show to the boys when they come over for a bbq.

I love it! I am kinda worried about going that fast without a 4-wheel drive setup! I am here for it! 73 is awesome!
I think the servo, the tires and the road all played a part in the crash!! Can't wait to see round 2......💯

Yea was going to say it for sure needs rear toe at a minimum. The driver kept having to counter steer…not good.
1 thing u may wanna setup on it is the ABS. Especially on 8s-12s! WILL make a monster difference in NOT spinning out stopping!
