Nice video! Some guy sold a bunch of his limited edition 4k packaging only. Ended up picking up Roadhouse, Showgirls, and Beastmaster VSU packaging and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 hard slip. Last night I picked up all 4 of those standard editions to complete the sets. Ended up paying WAY less than what it typically goes for.
those are amazing pick ups!! I just had to overpay for the VSU on road house because I missed it originally and it is one of my favorites...now I have to get Beastmaster, Showgirls, and Cloak and Dagger in the secondary market too...ugh lol
I preordered Navy Seals, and also ordered Trauma, Flesheater, Mother's Day, and Fatal Games
I probably over-bought LOL ...I am going to do a vid talking about everything I got and why, but as a collector, I am a sucker for great cover art, so a few of those got me lol... I definitely pre-ordered Navy Seals and I bought Invasion USA because Chuck Norris was my dad's favorite and he'd have come back from Heaven to kick my ass if I didnt LOL

I got back into collecting films last year cause I discovered Boutique labels and it is fun. Now, I made some beginner mistaskes. I bought a few titles with no slip, some Arrow titles and a Vinegar, but I have a new rule. Anything boutique most have a slip (except Criterion), Arrow and Vinegar need slips or I wont buy. It is not just the films, it is the art also. I love all the care and detail, all the love that these companies put into these releases. From Vinegar, if it is a partner label and the slip is shit, I'll save the money, but from Vinegar and from Arrow, I want the slips. Love these sales, for me, they are great fun. Got Sweet Sugar and all the Deaf Crocodiles on sale.
Im kinda the same... if it is coming from Vinegar or Arrow, the slip is a must have! With Scream Factory, I must admit that I am always going to opt for the fancier collector's edition over the standard too... Criterion is a different thing- I am actually working on making custom slip covers for my Criterion that doesnt have it - just gotta get the dimensions right for the slip

@@jespernicolaj I plan to transfer a little painting or digital painting of my own for any of the ones I do...so mine will probably have some pop art flair to them!

@jespernicolaj oh Yeah, waaaay too much lol... I'm sure I'll go over it at some point but off the top of my head I know I got Navy Seals, Invasion USA, Madman, Alien from LA, Homegrown Horrors, and Primal Rage...everything with slips of course...if it didn't have a slip or if it was something I thought would just sit on my shelf, I made myself skip it lol
I enjoyed the video but to say you'd rather pay 70 bucks second hand with a slip than 20 bucks without just blows my mind.
Hey thank you! Yeah I probably wont pay that much for just a slip...it is going to have to have more in it than that like a chunky box with awesome art -I paint so I really dig artwork and I back in the early 80s when I was kid and mom n pop video rental places were just starting, it was the artwork on the VHS tapes that drew you in...there was no internet, nothing on tv about most of the films (especially non studio stuff)- so the artwork is all part of the experience for me...Id rather buy less films but have higher end artwork, boxes, and extras than just accumulating "volume" but everyone's experience and love of collecting is different!
Makes my brain hurt that you guys are so hung up on the packaging. More so than the movies, just don't get it.
LOL I literally write, direct and make films...the films are important to me...BUT I first came to films in the early 80s as a kid when the way you found out about movies was to browse cover art in mom n pop video rental stores....I also paint, so art and display is part of the experience...there is a reason they do movie posters for every movie released...there is a reason we wrap christmas presents in beautiful paper - it all adds to the experience ad gets you excited about what is to come!
@@AVAPopCulture personally i just do it for the skrilla. these slips are worth so much money in 3-5 years when they OOP and people are like "oh i'm pay you $45 just to whiff the box again" like lol, u wish!
