Yes that's right. Let's say if other path was little shorter in length than the longest path we had selected in our example and suppose that shorter path has more bends and fittings and have higher static pressure then that would be our critical path with more bends and fittings. Generally bends, fittings and special equipments have much more pressure loss than straight piece of duct
It's good practice to use softwares instead of manual calculation procedure because now a days you will have so many tasks to perform. So it's much better to use softwares. Anyways if you want to have manual calculation then I recommend you to use Ashrae/smacna standard handbooks there you find same tables I used in my video

If you're talking about Revit software then you can change units by typing UN from the keyboard, units dialogue box will appear then you can change units. If you're talking about Ashrae duct fitting database then you can change units by going into utilities, under utilities you will find preferences and there you will find units tab to change units from IP to SI and vice versa
